Chapter 1 by Lorelei Thunder
“Doc, please reconsider. Is it really worth it to give up your supreme status for just a regular woman? With your status, you could have any supermodel, actress, or even a princess of any nation that you wish for! They would stand in line just for a chance to share your bed!”
Tiusto Penitentiary Facility was where the world’s super-villains and industry mavericks were housed. It was a prison unlike any other.
Presently, there was a well-suited elderly man begging pitifully at a young man who was on the other side of the bars.
The elderly man was Brayden Trevor, head of the Business Association of Darea. He was in control of several sectors of the country’s business, and one word from him could bring the whole nation’s economy crashing. He was well known for being ruthless and merciless.
To get the young man to treat him for his condition, Brayden had voluntarily opted to serve time in this dangerous place. And this wasn’t a rare occurrence here at Tiusto Penitentiary Facility either.
Behind Brayden, all the prison officers and convicts were on one knee as they lined up in straight lines. They all wore hopeful expressions in hopes that the young man would stay.
That was because the young man was Woody Henderson. Besides his identity as a convict, he was also the unchallenged ruler whom everyone revered in here. He was the Majestic Ruler!NôvelDrama.Org owns all content.
When the Majestic Ruler appeared, even death ran away in fear!
Rumor had it that the Majestic Ruler wielded two blades. One was a surgical scalpel to help the ailing, while the other was a powerful sword that took lives.
The kind put him on a pedestal and worshiped him as a god, whereas the evil saw him as the Grim Reaper and trembled at the mention of his name.
“Oh, you still don’t understand …”
As Woody stood before the iron gates with a forlorn expression, he couldn’t help it when a beautiful figure popped up in his mind. It was his wife, Pamela York.
Four years ago, on the day of Woody and Pamela’s wedding, a scion of a wealthy family barged into the bride’s dressing room and attempted to defile her. Fortunately, Pamela’s brother noticed it and attacked him with a glass bottle, cracking his skull.
Woody blamed himself for the negligence and for not being able to protect his wife. Hence, he decided to shoulder his brother-in-law’s actions and serve time in prison in his place.
At the thought of Pamela facing other peoples’ judgemental looks and scornful laughter alone for four years, Woody felt extremely bad for her. These were stress and pressure that she should never have to carry on her own.
Even Woody, who had inherited the mysterious prison legacy and ruled the facility, felt a tender spot for her in his heart. It pained him so much that he found it difficult to breathe when he thought of what she had to go through.
“Pam and I met back when I was nobody. What we share between us is the purest relationship between two persons. How can this be compared to people out there who are just out for my status and my riches?
“For as long as I live, the brightest star in my world shall be Pam, and it can only ever be her!”
Brayden seemed prepared as he produced a document folder. “If you insist on leaving, please accept a token of our appreciation. Here, we have some shares of Hillside Hotel for you, a black card, and …”
The little document folder held riches beyond comprehension!
“I know that you aren’t interested in such materialistic possessions, but the world out there is different from what we have here. Such things are necessary.”
Woody didn’t turn them down, lest they continued to pester him. But all he wanted to do now was leave.
Brayden said carefully, “Right, a young person out there came to me with a request. As I owe her father a favor, I’d like to ask that you help them out. If it isn’t too much to ask …”
“Okay.” Woody nodded.
Brayden was overjoyed. “I am eternally grateful! I’ll give your number to her right away!”
“It’s getting late. I should get going now.”
And with that, Woody strode out amidst gazes that were reluctant to see him leave. From the prison officers to all the convicts, they lowered their heads and watched as their supreme leader left.
Over at the prison gates, Woody stepped out from the facility with nothing but a faded canvas bag.
