Chapter 3380
Chapter 3380
The middle-aged man leaped up to hover in mid-air before casting his gaze into the distance. Soon, he discovered a vast expanse of white mist a stone’s throw away. It remained dense and only enveloped a few radii.
Seeing that, he quickly flew over. While doing so, he released a sliver of spiritual sense. He found no one around, but when his spiritual sense entered the white mist, it suddenly disappeared without any response.
“Could this be an arcane array someone set up that even spiritual sense can’t penetrate it?”
His brows furrowed. He then took two black balls out of his pocket and threw them on the ground. They exploded, and two starving wolves charged out of the black mist.
Under the middle-aged man’s command, they rushed into the white mist. But no sooner had they done so than two agonizing howls rang out. After that, nothing else was heard from the two starving wolves.
The middle-aged man’s expression turned solemn. At just that moment, however, there was a sudden fluctuation in the white mist.
Immediately after, a sword flew out.
The middle-aged man’s eyes went cold, and he shot his palm out at the sword.
Boom!
Following that strike, the sword shattered into pieces.
While at a loss, the middle-aged man abruptly realized that a figure had streaked to his front. On the heels of that, a flash of white light glinted before him.
He frowned. In the blink of an eye, a black shield materialized outside him and blocked off that flash of white light.
On a closer look, he realized that a girl with a sword in hand was glaring at him.
The girl was none other than Rosetta. Upon learning that someone had come, she had chosen to charge out of the arcane array to prevent the person from disrupting Jared when he was cultivating.
Looking at her, the middle-aged man laughed. “How daring of you to sneak an attack on me with such paltry capabilities, girl. You must be sick of living. In view that we’re both demons, I’ll spare you. But what kind of magical item emitted those colorful lights earlier? Hand it over at once.” This is property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
Seeing that Rosetta was also a Demonic Cultivator, he planned to spare her, only demanding that she hand the magical item to him.
“In your dreams! That belongs to Mr. Chance. How can I possibly hand it to you?” Rosetta snarled with fury written all over her face and her eyes wide.
“How daring to insist on doing this the hard way, girl. Then, I shall kill you first and lay here in ambush for the magical item.”
The middle-aged man shot his hands out without warning. A monstrous black mist erupted from his body and quickly transformed into a black python before attacking Rosetta.
Rosetta’s expression changed slightly. She hastily swung the sword in her hand, upon which glints of light shot into the sky.
“Quick, come back, Ms. Lothian!”
Just then, Jared’s voice drifted into her ears.
The middle-aged man was a Sixth Level Tribulator cultivator, while Rosetta was only a Second Level Tribulator cultivator. The gap was vast, so she could not possibly be his match.
Hearing Jared’s voice, Rosetta wanted to retreat to the arcane array. Alas, it was already too late. The black python had already reached her. Panic swamped her. As she was at a loss, three flashes of light suddenly shot out.
They instantly pierced the black python. Under the attack, the solid black python promptly turned into a cloud of black mist and slowly dissipated.
Looking closely, Rosetta found that the three flashes of light were three swords. All of them were the magic swords Jared had used to set up the arcane array at the beginning.
She seized the opportunity to retreat into the arcane array. By then, Jared had already opened his eyes and was currently staring at the middle-aged man outside.
“It looks like this place will be increasingly dangerous, Mr. Chance. Soon, many people will be here,” Rosetta said to Jared, fear lingering within her.
Naturally, Jared knew that staying would be beyond dangerous. However, celestial energy was bountiful there, and he truly could not bear to give it up.
Slowly, the white mist from the arcane array dissipated, baring Jared’s and Rosetta’s figures before the middle-aged man.
