"I was so naive back then," Linda said with a rueful smile.
She was so innocent that she was ready to put everything on the line for love.
If the internet had been as advanced back then as it is today, she might have found countless relationship
analyses online and wouldn't have suffered so much. But it wasn't too late even now.
"Linda, don't let it get to you too much," Chloe said, checking her phone. She had received the
notifications as well. "I don't deny what people are saying online. Their words may be harsh, but there's
truth in them."
Instead of hanging onto a loveless relationship and ending up completely broken, it would be better to
move on sooner.
"Linda, you're not who you used to be. You've bravely moved on from the man you once loved deeply."
"Yes, I've been brave," Linda said with a smile, aware that healing would take time.
Linda arrived at Four Seasons Hotel for the evening gala as a representative of YK Media.
She wore a form-fitting, strapless deep gray gown that accentuated her curves beautifully.
Her long hair was styled in an elegant updo, showcasing her graceful neck. She kept her accessories minimal with just a pearl necklace as her presence alone was already captivating.
All the guys were watching her from the instant she walked in. Every smile and gesture she made had everyone mesmerized. From the past to the present, everyone has acknowledged her beauty. William, who had never paid her attention, couldn't keep his eyes off her.
Linda pretended she didn't notice him. She rested on the couch in the lounge when a biting voice came
from behind her. "Well, isn't this the celebrated vice president of YK Media, Linda Felix?"
The speaker was Vera Roper, a woman about Linda's age, wearing an opulent dress.
"Hello. Do we know each other?" Linda asked courteously.
"You don't know me, but I certainly know you," Vera replied arrogantly.
"And?" Feeling somewhat drained, Linda didn't want to engage any further. "If this is about business, please contact my secretary to arrange a meeting. Otherwise, kindly leave and stop disturbing my peace." Vera instantly flared up. "Is this your property? What right do you have to tell me to leave?"
"What right do I have?" Linda, responded with a faint smile, her tone nonchalant. "I'm YK Media's vice president, and Lynch Group owns this hotel. I can ask you to leave and also have security remove you." Vera was enraged, pointing at Linda's face and shouting, "You whore! Who knows how many men you've
slept with? How dare you try to compete with Ida for Mr. Wilson?"
Her loud outburst attracted everyone's attention.
Linda gracefully stood up, smiling as she calmly broke Vera's finger. "Miss, my patience can only stretch
so far.
"If your parents failed to teach you respect, I'm more than willing to do so in front of everyone. Spreading lies comes with consequences."

She continued to smile as she let finger, her eyes flashing with disdain. "And for the record, I would never lower myself to compete with an imposter for anything, whether in the past or now." Linda found the whole situation rather amusing. She added, "Whoever wants William can have him. Targeting me is completely pointless."
"Pointless?" William appeared behind her unnoticed.
Linda's heart tightened involuntarily at the sight of him. William immediately took her hand, tenderly wiping it with a handkerchief.
Shocked and in pain from her broken finger, Vera exclaimed, "Mr. Wilson, why are you still treating her this way after everything she's said about you? How can you be so unfair to Ida?"
