Chapter 245
Seeing Frederick's confident look, Joseph and the others looked at each other in bafflement. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
Frederick was aware of Selina's personality, and disappointing her was the least amount of his worries. He just hoped Selina wouldn't eviscerate him with her words. Hopefully, he could persuade her without difficulties. Several days passed in the blink of an eye.
On this day, The Rose had been invited to perform at Starlight Club. The crowd was already buzzing. The club was filled with scions not only from Sokovis' upper society but also from other cities.
The only reason Starlight Club wasn't overrun was because it was Trevon's territory, and they only accepted a fixed number of customers every day. And all this could be attributed to Selina making an appearance with The Rose this time. After The Rose finished their out-of-this-world performance, the crowd below began to chant, "Meteorite Queen! Encore! Encore!" They wanted to hear Selina soloing as Meteorite Queen.
Ever since the buzz on Selina's identity as Meteorite Queen vanished online, many fans were filled with regret over missing her live performance. If Selina willingly granted their wishes this time, they would die with no regrets.
Lydia, still feeling the high from their earlier performance, exclaimed ecstatically, "Selina, since your fans are so enthusiastic, why not sing a song? We'll back you up." Lydia was also eager to hear Selina soloing one of Meteorite Queen's songs live. "Lydia is right. Luke and I are also Meteorite Queen's songs' fans. We have practiced the music score of each song many times, so we have absolutely no problem backing you up," piped up Thomas with Luke nodding in agreement. Selina thought briefly before agreeing, "Well, I'm in a good mood today. Since everyone is in the zone, I won't spoil the fun. Let's go with 'Meteorite Girl' then.
Just because one had let it go didn't mean they couldn't pick it up again. Now, Selina wanted to do anything she wanted, as long as it made her happy.
"Long live Selina!" cheered the crowd, pushing the atmosphere in Starlight Club to new heights.
On the club's second floor, Charley was leaning against the window as he stared admiringly at Selina performing passionately below on stage. He exclaimed, "Damn, Selina is amazing! Her stage presence, singing, and guitar skills are just... I'm a fan now!" "Charley, keep your eyes to yourself. Don't look where you shouldn't be," warned Trevon.
"Boo-hoo! Trevon, Selina is dazzling on stage. She's now the center of everyone's gaze. If you wanted to hide Selina away, you shouldn't have let her perform. Why are you trying to scare me?" grumbled Charley.
"Do you think I don't want to do that? You think I have any control over Selina?" retorted Trevon, rolling his eyes at Charley. An obedient and submissive Selina wouldn't have held so much attraction for Trevon. He loved Selina's ability and personality. Edwin came over with two glasses of orange-colored drinks and smiled. "All right. Let's calm down. Come on, have a taste of my new drinks."
Trevon, I'm not being contentious, but we are all fans of Selina. Why pick on me only? Just because we are buddies, doesn't mean you can bully me, snapped Charley.
"You yap too much. Do you still want the latest Bell 470?" warned Trevon.
"Yes! Zipping my mouth now!" seethed Charley, going completely silent when Trevon tempted him with the latest helicopter. It was true Trevon could acquire that helicopter through his network. Even if Charley tried, it would take him a year to get his hands on it. Whereas for Trevon, it was nothing. 'Alas! Comparison will only make one resentful, Charley thought despairingly.
Edwin handed the drinks to them before leaning lazily on the couch and quipping, "So... Trevon, Selina has been making more public appearances lately. Any comments from the Brady family?"
They are silent, but I'm more worried about their sneaky moves. I'll protect Selina. Besides, she is not someone you can trifle with. They are asking for trouble if they choose to mess with her." Trevon smirked, sipping his drink as he gazed proudly at Selina dazzling everyone on stage.
It's just that people shining too brightly attract unwanted attention. Although Charley knows he shouldn't covet my wife, the way he looks at Selina spells trouble, thought Trevon, his alarm bells ringing. He was confident he wouldn't lose out to anyone in terms of his charms.
'Only I can touch Selina. But since there are too many flies buzzing around her, I guess I just have to swat them away; imagined Trevon.
"I did hear that when the Hudson family's elders wanted to cause trouble for Selina, she ensured they were left in ruins. Even Mr. Brady had a hard time getting an appointment to see her, and he had nothing but great things to say about her," commented Edwin, feeling unsurprised. The revelations of Selina's multiple identities bespoke of a strong, confident woman. Coupled with Trevon favoring her, Edwin was aware she was

one of a kind.
At least among all the women Edwin had met, Selina was undoubtedly the one he admired the most. Unfortunately, Trevon had met her first. If Edwin had met her first, he would have likely been tempted, too. He couldn't blame Trevon for being so edgy. Men had always been desirous of accomplished women.
"Let's stop talking about Selina. Edwin, what about you? You haven't spoken to Ashley since the bonfire party. I know she secretly visited you twice, and you avoided her both times. The game hasn't ended yet, right?" cut in Charley. For the sake of getting the helicopter, Charley couldn't make fun of Trevon for the time being and could only shift his aim toward Edwin now.
"She came to see me, but I ignored her. What is this about the game that hasn't ended yet? I don't get you," replied Edwin.
"Come on, stop it with the gentlemanly act. I'm just waiting to see how you play around with Ashley. Since you're handling this personally, I'm assuming she would be desperate for you by the end of it," snickered Charley.
Edwin kept silent, but his confident smile spoke volumes. "Let's not forget to thank Trevon. It is a rare honor for us to attend Meteorite Queen's first live performance after the revelation of her identity."
None of them were aware, but at that moment, a pair of eyes were gazing with admiration and joy at Selina from the club floor.
When the performance was over, Selina and the others went backstage, still not over the high.
"Ah! Queen Selina, you were so unbelievable! That was fantastic! The only thing I have left for you is admiration! How about writing a song for The Rose? Queen Selina, I'm sure with your creativity, it shouldn't be too difficult!" bubbled Elaine, staring at Selina with excitement and admiration. She was almost at her knees for Selina.
Selina's appearance had pushed the whole band's performance up by several degrees. Plus, the attention they had garnered had far surpassed their usual ones. Besides, Selina was Meteorite Queen. If she was willing to compose lyrics, songs, and music for The Rose, it could ensure their career advancement by leaps and bounds.
Thomas hurriedly interrupted, "Elaine, let's not trouble Selina with this. It's already an honor for us that she was willing to sing Meteorite Queen's song with our band backing her."
"Well, I'm just saying..." started Elaine.
"Okay," cut in Selina before Elaine could finish her sentence.
Elaine had stars in her eyes as she asked, "Really? You will do it? Queen Selina, you aren't joking, right?"
"I was on a high and felt inspired by the tacit cooperation with everyone just now. I'm feeling good enough to write a song about our band to let out my inspiration," beamed Selina.
"Really?" exclaimed Thomas and Luke excitedly. What an honor to perform a song written by Meteorite Queen for the band! It had been their dream, but they had never planned to bother Selina!
"Hooray! Queen Selina, I love you so much! I swear! If I hadn't been married, I would have pursued you and become your most loyal backup! It has nothing to do with gender!" gushed Elaine. Lydia took Selina's arm and huffed, "Well, you can't touch Selina. She is mine!"
After the discussion, as Selina was leaving, she turned to use the bathroom and suddenly bumped into someone.
"Selina," called out the person.
A voice that Selina would never forget until the day she died resounded in her ears.
