Chapter 2160
Chapter 2160
I looked at Aaron, in hopes of eliciting an answer from him. But apparently, no such miracle happened.
Only two things would drive strangers to hit it off on a first meeting, those things were money and profit. It wasn't hard to guess why they were here.
As the saying goes, a person with a high ranking is liable to get attacked. After forging its way into the top five economies in the world, the Roberts Group, the country's largest company, was known worldwide. It was difficult to get a share of its business.
Those from the business world would show up twice a day with proposals to collaborate and hoped they would be the lucky ones out of a million others. From beginning to end, the decision was in the hands of the Roberts Group.
However, these two were clearly not interested in playing by the rules.
Hendrix didn't take them seriously. He looked calmly at Aaron and gestured for him to explain further.
Aaron was slouched on the sofa then propped up his arm and impatiently massaged his temples.
"So, Anne isn't going to run a club? Don't know who exactly sent them the information, but these two gentlemen here insisted on joining us." Were they here for Anne?

Putting aside the probability of whether Anne's club would be successful, even if it ever actually opened, it might only thrive within Jarold City, a business that operated on tight margins. It would be ridiculous for them to insist on becoming a shareholder, isn't it?
"Where's Anne?" Hendrix asked indifferently.
"She isn't home yet," Aaron replied, "Anne has been very busy lately."
Luckily she wasn't here, I thought to myself. Gangsters had no morality nor shame. Keeping her away from them would be the best thing.
While they weren't paying attention, I quietly tugged on Hendrix's sleeve, asking him to keep the men away for Anne.
Hendrix looked indifferent as he nodded. He looked at me as though to tell me to take it easy. He looked like he already had a plan in mind.
I felt relieved. Then I suddenly thought of something and said quickly, "Evan, come here for a minute."
Evan was very perceptive. He knew that I wanted to stay under the radar, so he stooped closer to listen to me.
"Keep an eye on the outside. When Anne returns, bring her straight to the room through the side door," I whispered. "Understood," Evan responded respectfully. He then went out of the door.
Quinn noticed Evan moving outside. His small, pointed eyes narrowed his eyes as he followed Evan out the door.
Luckily, this was the Roberts' residence after all, so he didn't go too far. As soon as he noticed me staring at him, he began to smile for no reason. I got goosebumps from this.
When I looked away, I was reminded of Aurelia, who was peeking from upstairs. This little one was really bold to do this. Even a child from an ordinary family would cry for his mother after seeing a black man. She, however, was relishing the fun.
My eyes drifted over to where Aurelia was. She wasn't there anymore, she must have gone back into her room.
Aurelia was raised abroad and was
spoiled by Aaron, so she had a touch
of Princess Syndrome in her. Regardless, she had always been very receptive to her family and was obedient to her parents.
"Okay, Miss Reid and Mr. Roberts, let me tell you about my plan!" Lucas and Quinn had very rugged personalities and the physique of bodybuilders. They very clearly expressed the characteristic of

immersed in their own world."You'll be in charge of opening the club, beginning in Jarold City and then expanding throughout the country. You'll let us handle the club's security. Besides, the Skull Organization's headquarters will be based in Jarold City. As for the police in Zuckerberg, we can discuss sorting out their 'salaries' later..."
