Chapter 2134
Chapter 2134
"Are you calm now?" Hendrix looked at me with a relaxed expression. "You can't stay out of this, and I don't intend to force you to, but I won't allow accidents to happen."
Hendrix's expression was unpleasant. With just a look, I knew that he was being rational. In such a situation, being unreasonable would not work in my favor.
My consciousness urged me to argue back, but reason kept me in check. After the wedding, Hendrix seemed to be less forceful.
"Irvin won't die like this. When I have a certain degree of confirmation, I won't say a thing about your decision to stay or leave, even if you want to be by his side to care for him."
Hearing this, I raised my gaze in surprise, but he had already turned to face the elevator door. He looked calm, and I could not tell if he was happy or angry at the moment.
Did I hallucinate Hendrix taking the initiative to allow me to care for Irvin?
"Ding!"
When the elevator door opened, Hendrix turned around, took my hand, and walked out. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
We drove out of the hospital's parking lot, but not in the direction towards our home.
"Where are we going?" My brain was a hazy mess.
"Aurelia called home and said she wanted to have some dessert tonight." Hendrix had his eyes on the road, but there was a faint smile on his face.
Perhaps he was right. Irvin had always come out fine from many life and death incidents. Sympathy was not going to change his predetermined destiny.
I had a lovely child and a husband who loved me. I should not turn a blind eye to everything I had while feeling sorry for the fate of others.
I suppressed the swelling fear in my
fne
heart and tried to follow Hendrix's pace. Suddenly, Irvin didn't seem so important. "Eating dessert in the evening will lead to weight gain and is not good for the teeth. You can't spoil the children like this."
A healthy and beautiful body was a lifelong pursuit for women, and they could not be careless at any age.
"Desserts can relieve one's mood. I'm not spoiling my child, but my wife. It's not wrong to do that, is it?"
"Humph." I pursed my lips teasingly. "You are doing this for your daughter, but you're trying to flatter me with it. I don't buy it." Hendrix laughed softly. "Don't you plan to eat later?"
"Of course I will!" No one could refuse the delicacies of the world.
After Hendrix parked the car by the roadside, I took his arm and entered a cake house named Black Angle with him.
The store was well-arranged with
different styles of desserts,
separated by transparent glass
dividers. Each section had an
individual light shining down on the desserts and a constant
temperature system. Everything
looked like pieces of art under the
light.
As expected, Hendrix was a man who valued more than just the price of an item. He valued the food's worth and the emotion it evoked.
I stopped in front of a display of the Napoleon cake. It was a new product in the shop, and it looked to be just the right size.
Hendrix immediately summoned the shop assistant.
"Hello, Sir, do you need a recommendation?" The waitress had a model figure and appearance. When she spoke, television hosts immediately came to mind.
"Our apologies, Sir. The last of this cake has been reserved. We have another that is quite popular. Would you like to try it?"
"That was fast It's not even noon yet." Hearing that the new product was sold out, I was surprised and disappointed. But having a popular product be in such high demand was an inevitable phenomenon. One could only get their hands on it if they ordered one in advance.
