My Invincible Husband Has Returned

Chapter 40

Chapter 40

Liam did not like what Celena said. He raised his eyebrows and refuted, "So what? I'm more than happy to spoil my daughter. I would gladly spoil her rotten."

Jovie was a little unhappy when she heard what Celena said. She pouted and made a funny face at Celena. Then, she said in a playful tone, "I'm a good girl. I'm not going to be spoiled. Dad is cloting on me because he loves me. I love Dad too. Mom is bad. Hmph!"

Upon saying that, Jovie put the bunny aside with a grin and threw herself into Liam's arms. She was beaming happily and nuzzling Liam's chest from time to time, which looked extremely adorable.

Celena felt relieved when she saw Jovie smiling more and seemed to have forgotten about the trauma from the car crash. She then started to play with Jovie.

She pretended to look sad and covered her face. While peeking at Jovie through her fingers, she said, "Jovie said Mom is bad. I'm so heartbroken and sad.

Celena even pretended to let out a couple of sobs. Then, while Jovie was distracted, she lunged forward and tickled her. Jovie then burst out laughing in Liam's arms.

Celena and Jovie were laughing and playing with each other while Liam looked at them dotingly. The family of three was simply enveloped by happiness.

The others at the manor, even the tough men, smiled lovingly when they saw that. Who could resist a smile as adorable as Jovie's?

However, the heartwarming atmosphere quickly disappeared. While the maids played with Jovie, Liam and Celens followed Dr. Jensen to the study. In an instant, the atmosphere in the room became somber.

Celena's heart sank when she saw how serious Dr. Jensen looked. She anxiously grabbed Dr. Jensen's arm and asked, "What's wrong? Is it Jovie? Is something wrong with Jovie?"

Dr. Jensen glanced at Liam. They had been keeping the condition of Jovie's legs from Celena. However, when Dr. Jensen checked on Jovie that day, he realized something else was going on about Jovie. That was why he brought them to the study.

Liam nodded, and then he pulled Celena into his arms and said, 'Be patient, Celena. Let's hear Dr. Jensen out."This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.

"As I've told you before, Jovie's legs were severely injured, so she might have a walking impairment in the future. But I realized in the past two days that her vision has started to deteriorate. It might have something to do with the nerve injury from when she hit her head," Dr. Jensen said with a frown.

Jovie was everything to Celena. As soon as Celena heard that, she covered her mouth while tears streamed down her face.

She was in disbelief as she said, "W-Walking impairment? Does it mean Jovie can never walk again in the future? Also, her eyes... won't be able to work anymore?"

Celena cried with great sorrow at the thought of her daughter being blind and needing to be in a wheelchair. She kept saying, "No. Jovie's still young. She's only six. She hasn't even gone

to school. How could she no longer walk? How could she be blind? It can't be...'

"Celena, I'll get her the best doctors. She'll definitely be fine, Liam said with a catch in his throat and hugged Celena tightly.

He just met his daughter. He had not even taken her out yet.

At the thought of that, Liam looked at Dr. Jensen and said, "Dr. Jensen, is there a solution for this?"

Dr. Jensen pondered for a moment and said seriously, 'Don't worry. It's a possibility for the time being. I'll do my best to treat Jovie."

Liar brought Celena back to the room. He looked at Celena, whose eyes were red and puffy from crying, and said coldly, "I'll make the Walkers pay twice as much for everything that happened to Jovie."

Upon saying that, Liam left with a bone-chilling thirst for blood.
