Chapter 17
Chapter 17
As much as he hated to admit it, Jonas was intimidated by Liam!
However, as terrified as he was, he knew better than to show it to his enemy, so he stood his ground. “Very well then. I’ll let her go!” he yelled. With that, his lackeys immediately cleared out a path to allow Celena to pass, but she refused to leave without Liam. Instead, she clung to his arm and sobbed, “No, I won’t go! I won’t go without you, Liam! Either we leave together, or not at all!”
Celena knew that Liam was trying to protect her, and his courage at this moment caused all her vengeance toward him that accumulated over the years to disappear!
“Listen to me, Celena. Jovie’s still under treatment and needs you. Please go check on Jovie now. My men are waiting for you downstairs, and they’ll bring you to Jovie! Please. With you here, I’ll become distracted and won’t be able to do well. Trust me; I can handle this on my own!” Liam tried to reassure her as best as he could. “Don’t worry, Celena. I can handle this in my sleep. I promise I’ll come to you once I settle things here!”
With that, he gave her a little push and added, “Go! Remember to go find Jovie!”
Celena, knowing that her presence would only be a burden to Liam, had no choice but to scamper away. She sobbed uncontrollably as she sprinted out of the room and down the stairs, not even daring to
look back.
moment Celena left, Jonas’s men surrounded Liam, but even
Liam did not falter. His expression was as stoic as ever, with even a glimmer of fear.
the contrary, he was growing more and more excited by the
minute. It was as though he waited for this day for a very long time. The anticipation of a bloodbath churned through his veins and made his blood boil with exhilaration.
The moment Celena stepped out of the door, Calum leaped out of the jeep he was sitting on and asked, “Mrs. Cole, please get into the car. I’ll bring you to Jovie. He’s undergoing surgery right now and needs you by his side. And judging by the size of your injury, you need to get to a hospital immediately too!”
Celena stared at Calum with a perturbed look and replied, “Are you Liam’s friend? Please, you need to go upstairs to save him! He’s been surrounded by the Walkers!”
To her s
surprise, Calum did not even flinch. “Don’t worry about him, Mrs. Cole. He eats men like this for breakfast! Just get into the car. I’ll bring you to Jovie!”
“He eats men like this for breakfast? Are you sure he can fight off dozens of those people at the same time?” Celena could not believe her ears. How could Liam possibly stand a chance against those

“Mrs. Cole, please put your trust in Mr, I mean-in Liam! You and Jovie are the reason he returned to Drunham City! He’s here to protect you! He can’t live with himself if he allowed anything to happen to you!” Calum was beginning to get frustrated. He knew he had to get Celena out of here as soon as possible, and judging from her injuries, he did
not have much time.
Celena glanced once more at the entrance to the Nightwalker Club and finally gritted her teeth. At the thought of Jovie waiting for her, she got into the car as Calum asked. Calum started the engine, and the car peeled away as fast as lightning!
Calum’s priority was to keep Celena safe. Since Joseph and Albert were both at the Nightwalker Club, he would leave the task of

protecting Liam up to them.
Besides, the Walkers had no idea who they were dealing with!
At the height of his rage, Liam was like a fire-breathing dragon that not one could stop in its path!
Meanwhile, Jonas’s men surrounded Liam. Jonas knew that there was no chance of Liam escaping anymore, so he grinned.
triumphantly and announced, “Look where your arrogance brought you, you twat! I’m going to teach you a lesson about being so cocky!”
