Chapter 14

The car smoothly pulled into the parking lot of the Brovard restaurant. It was a new edition

Lamborghini, rumored to be one of only two in the world, both owned by mysterious buyers. The sight

of the rare vehicle surprised everyone present, as they hadn't expected one of the enigmatic owners to

be from City A.

Curiosity piqued, the patrons of the restaurant poured out to catch a glimpse of the car's occupants.

Coincidentally, members of the Smith family, who had celebrated their victory in successfully removing

Sandra and her family from the city, were also present. The two sons of the Smith family had their own

motives for being there. They had invited their daughter's in-laws, including old man Smith, to flaunt

their newfound support.

As Sandra and Levy's car arrived, they were equally taken aback by the luxurious vehicle. They © NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

couldn't help but wonder who could be inside. Stacey, the most covetous sister, shamelessly adjusted

her skirt, attempting to showcase her long legs and figure to whoever emerged from the car.

At that very moment, a figure stepped out of the driver's seat and opened the back door. From their

distance, the Smith family failed to recognize William, the personal assistant of the Anthony family.

Levy, looking as dashing as ever, didn't spare a glance at the gathering crowd. Instead, he turned to

Sandra and said, "Wife, here we are. Let's go and celebrate our first day of marriage and enjoy our

lunch as a married couple."

Sandra couldn't help but burst into laughter. She found Levy Anthony's theatrical nature amusing.

However, she swiftly composed herself and replied, "Let's go, my esteemed husband." She acted as if

they were deeply in love, inseparable beings destined to be together.

Levy chuckled, finding his new wife's unpredictable nature intriguing. Nevertheless, he regained his

composure and walked alongside her to the entrance of the restaurant.

Upon seeing Sandra emerge from the car, exuding an air of self-assurance, the Smith family was

utterly flabbergasted. Stellah and Stacey couldn't believe their own eyes. There stood Sandra, stepping

out of the world's most expensive car, accompanied by a strikingly handsome young man who seemed

to possess an ethereal charm.

Unable to contain their astonishment any longer, they confronted Sandra. Stacey sneered, "Well, well,

well, look who we have here. It's Sandra Smith, the dimwitted and uneducated daughter of the Smith

family in City A. Pray tell, who is this young man you are parading with? Shouldn't you be married to

the worthless scion of the Anthony family, Levy Anthony?"

Sandra's gaze turned icy as she replied with a hint of disdain, "I have chosen my path, and it is none of

your concern. The arrangements between the Anthony and Smith families are no longer of importance.

Excuse us."

Stacey maintained her seductive gaze towards Levy, fully aware of the consequences if he were to

discover the truth. She feared that revealing her supposed engagement and the negative reputation of

her intended fiancé would drive him away instantly. Stellah joined Stacey, adding her voice to the

confrontation. "Sister, what is happening? Please tell me you're not cheating on your fiancé with this

man. I know our family has faced financial difficulties, and you may not have had the same

opportunities for education and wealth as us. But we are family, and if you need money, you can

always turn to me or Stacey. Our grandparents wouldn't hesitate to support you. You are their youngest

granddaughter, after all."

She glanced around, observing the growing crowd that had gathered to witness the commotion. A

sinister satisfaction washed over Stellah, prompting her to raise her voice even further. "Sister, we

understand you may be envious of our relationships with respectable men, but that is no excuse to

tarnish our family name and jeopardize your own future. You have a man, and his name is Levy

Anthony!" Stacey's words echoed through the onlookers, intending to label Sandra as promiscuous and

opportunistic, insinuating that she had a man but was shamelessly cheating on him due to his lack of

wealth.

Levy exerted immense self-control to suppress the anger simmering within him, knowing that Sandra

had the situation under control. Sensing his mounting rage, she touched him gently and exchanged a

meaningful glance, assuring him that she could handle the matter at hand.

Levy composed himself and focused his attention on Sandra, eager to see how she would navigate this

delicate situation. The individuals before them were not just the Smith family but also influential figures

and prominent families from City A.

Just as Sandra was about to address the accusations, she heard her grandmother's piercing words. "I

have always known that you were envious of your cousins. You can't simply bring a random man here

to show off his wealth to us. You should have been married to Levy Anthony by now, but instead, you're

here engaging in frivolous affairs. Thank goodness we severed ties with you and your foolish father.

You're just like your mother—both of you are nothing but gold-diggers, using men for their riches."

"Sandra couldn't bear to hear another word. They could say anything they wanted about her, but she

couldn't allow anyone to speak ill of her mother. Despite the trust issues she had with her family, her

parents had always been good to her. In a resolute voice, she interrupted her grandmother's tirade,

exclaiming, "Enough! You can say whatever you want about me, but I won't allow anyone to insult my

mother!"

Even though Sandra had been living in the village, her parents would visit her at least once a year, and

they would always celebrate the end of the year together as a family. However, she couldn't help but

wonder why they hadn't taken her back home when they had the means to protect her. What had

prevented them from cutting ties with the Smith family all these years, considering they held more

power and influence?

She knew that if her parents wanted to, they could make the Smith family vanish overnight. So what

was their reason for not doing so? Despite having loving guardians in the village, Sandra still yearned

to live with her parents like any other child would.
