Chapter 703
Chapter 703
When Mandy laid eyes on the crystal coffin, she had also been shocked.
"Behave, or you might end up in there," Mandy warned Liora, who nodded eagerly.
Releasing Liora, Mandy instructed, "I'll head downstairs for a look. You stay up here."
Liora hurriedly departed, and Mandy watched her go, grateful that she wasn't the real Mandy.
Otherwise, her heart would be in pieces.
Her thoughts briefly drifted to Leah, wondering when they could reunite. Upon thinking of her biological
mother, Mandy's eyes glinted with a vengeance. Esther and Bradley were to blame for their current
predicament.
'Mom, I'll make them pay,' she swore inwardly.
-
Bradley neared the crystal coffin, unscrewed a water bottle cap, and drenched Esther's face. Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.
Esther's eyes shot open, filled with fear, as she looked at Bradley.
"Esther! Don't pretend you're dead! Got it?"
Esther winced from the pain in her wound, covered it, and struggled to get out of the coffin, following
Bradley.
Concerned, Mandy asked Esther, "Are you alright?"
Bradley sneered. "She's like a cat with nine lives. She won't kick the bucket."
Esther headed to the kitchen to prepare breakfast while fighting the pain.
Mandy offered to help, but Bradley stopped her. "Sit down. She's the maid, not you."
Mandy took her seat awkwardly, her offer just a facade. Esther seemed uneasy. Seeing her enemy's
discomfort gave Mandy immense satisfaction.
Under the light, Bradley read the news. The recent headlines focused on the downfall of the once-
powerful Pendletons.
The Quills, Fosters, Lockwoods, and Cassells' retaliation had unveiled the Pendletons' hidden
overseas assets registered in Mandy's name. In this world, secrets never lasted forever. It depended
on someone's determination to uncover concealed illegal wealth.
Additionally, Selene had gathered evidence of Richard's past crimes due to her status as Mrs.
Pendleton. This evidence would be sufficient to imprison Richard for a lifetime.
While Bradley read the news, he occasionally glanced at Esther in the kitchen. She was pale, drenched
in sweat from pain, but persisted in preparing breakfast. She didn't voice her agony because she knew
Bradley wouldn't care and might even treat her worse.
Esther soon finished breakfast, which included boiled eggs, bacon, and omelets.
"Sir, breakfast is served," she said.
Since Liora hadn't yet appeared, Mandy suggested, "I'll take some breakfast to my mom first."
"Go ahead and get her," Bradley replied, glancing at Esther.
With a pale face, Esther replied, "Alright."
