Chapter 573 Confession
Hearing Faye's calm tone, the man was taken aback.
Faye glanced at him and stepped into the elevator.
The man laughed, a wry look in his eyes.
The two lived on the same floor. As the elevator slowly ascended, the man took two steps near Faye,
his hands in his pockets, and leaned forward to Faye.
"Who told you that I was sent by Brandon?"
Faye rolled her suitcase and put it between the two of them.
Seeing this, the man raised his eyebrows, "You're unfriendly."
Faye said coldly, "Go away."
As Faye finished her words, the elevator door just opened.
Ignoring the man, Faye got out of the elevator.
The man stood in the elevator staring at Faye's back and chuckled.
After Faye entered her room, the first thing she did was checking the room thoroughly.
Having confirmed that there was no monitor device, she unbuttoned her suit jacket, sat on the sofa,
and called Colin.
Colin picked it up immediately when he received the call. "Honey," he said in a mellow voice.
Faye said, "I've arrived at the hotel."
Colin asked, "Is the hotel comfortable?"
Faye replied truthfully, "Not bad."
Hearing Faye was not interested in chatting, Colin paused and said in a deep voice, "Still angry?"
Faye kicked off her high-heeled shoes and leaned back on the sofa.
She didn't answer, and changed the subject, "Have you had dinner?"
Colin said, "No yet."
Faye looked down at her watch. "Why haven't you eaten? It's so late."
Colin said with a smile, "I can't eat when you're not here with me."
Faye was speechless. There was a moment of silence.
About half a minute later, Faye asked, "When are you going to start?" All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
Colin was silent for a while and told her the truth. "Tomorrow."
Faye said, "Be careful."
Colin chuckled. "Don't worry. Of course, I'll be careful."
Hearing Colin's relaxed tone, Faye thought for a while with a frown and then said, "I think Brandon has
known your plan."
Faye changed the subject so suddenly that Colin did a double take.
He dropped his smile and asked in a deep voice, "Did any accident happen to you?"
Faye took a deep breath and did not hide it from him. "I'm being followed. The man has followed me
from Cocanel to Yicbridge."
Colin's face was sullen.
Colin was originally worried that Faye would be implicated in Cocanel, so he made an excuse to ask
her to leave.
He hadn't expected this to happen.
Colin clenched his hands and said coldly, "I'll send Andy to protect you."
Faye said, "No need."
Colin frowned. "Don't be childish."
Faye said, "Calm down. The more you care about me, the more you will be flustered. That man has
followed me for a long time but did nothing. It is very likely that he was ordered to keep an eye on me."
Colin insisted in a firm voice, "I can't risk your life."
Faye was silent.
This was the first time Colin spoke to her in such a tone.
Colin gasped and said, "Honey."
Faye took a breath and said in a steady voice, "I will ask Lance to send someone."
Colin grunted, "Lance is a jack of all trades. How can his men be reliable?"
The depressing atmosphere became relaxed after Colin's words.
Faye couldn't help laughing. "Don't underestimate Lance."
Hearing her laughter, Colin felt cheerful but still insisted, "I'll send Andy there. I can't trust Lance."
Colin paused and added, "You don't have to worry about me. I still have Ethan."
Faye knew that it would be futile to advise Colin. To comfort him, she agreed, "Okay, I'll listen to you."
Hearing that, Colin let out a long sigh of relief and said something sweet. "Honey, I'll let you do
whatever you want when you come back."
Faye said, "I just want you to be safe."
When Colin heard the words, his heart swelled, and the Adam's apple rolled, "Don't worry."
After hanging up the phone, Faye leaned on the sofa, rubbing her forehead. Somehow, she felt
something bad was going to happen.
That night, when Faye was in sleep, there was a sudden sound of unlocking the door.
Being a light sleeper, Faye woke up immediately. After all, she had been on her guard.
However, no one broke in, but she heard fighting in the corridor.
