Chapter 777 What If I'm Pregnant
"So what if you're pregnant? It means nothing," Sylvia sneered dismissively and continued to taunt
Nina.
"Besides, are you really pregnant with Harley's baby? Or are you trying to pawn off another man’s
baby?"
"Watch your mouth!"
Because of physical discomfort, Nina was more irritable than normal and could not handle much more Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
of Sylvia’s taunting.
Although Sylvia couldn't harm Nina, but with personal attacks, she might cause Nina enough turmoil to
cause her to miscarry.
Thinking of this, Sylvia intensified her attacks.
"Because of your reaction, it must be true."
Sylvia's disdainful words continued, "Do you not feel ashamed that you lied to Harley to keep him by
your side? If not, I feel ashamed for you!"
Nina's hand was trembling violently with anger as she wanted to curse Sylvia out.
The audacity of Sylvia to speak to her in this way.
However, the thought of Harley handing his phone to Sylvia to let her say whatever she wanted made
Nina feel powerless.
After thoroughly insulting Nina, Sylvia felt overjoyed. She sneered at the phone and continued to mock
her.
"Nina just leave Harley. It's in everyone's best interest.Or you can live as a divorcee once he realizes
that you're carrying a bastard.Seriously, how could you think he loved you? He loves me, not you!"
Nina, startled by Sylvia's words, snapped, "Shut up!"
Sylvia couldn't stop laughing, and the fact that she was making Nina upset made her even happier.
"Clearly, you refuse to accept reality."
Sylvia's tone was casual as she continued, "Harley will dump you, eventually.
Whether you leave with your dignity intact or wait to be an abandoned, is up to you.
"You..."
Sylvia had successfully achieved her purpose of taunting Nina and hung up the phone. Then, Sylvia
deleted the call log and left the lounge.
Nina shook in anger as she thought about what Sylvia said.
Sylvia must have been telling the truth with how much venom she was spewing at her.
She had to have a relationship with Harley.
However, it still made little sense.
There was another slight pain in her stomach.I can't let this stress me out.
The doctor said it could have a serious effect on the baby, Nina thought.
For her unborn child, Nina would force herself to be happy.
With this in mind, Nina decided to go outside to relax.
Although the abdominal pain had not subsided, she could at least improve her mood.
Putting on a jacket, Nina cautiously descended the stairs.
Carlee, Harley's mother, was seated on the sofa in the living room, eating fruit while watching
television.
Carlee turned as she heard Nina's footsteps and saw her heading out the door with her purse.
Although the relationship between Nina and Carlee was strained, they still greeted each other politely.
"I’m going for a walk."
Carlee glared at her from the sofa and said, "You're about to give birth soon and you're still running
around. What are you going to do if something happens to you?"
Nina froze, unable to recall when or why she had angered Carlee.
Carlee glared for a moment longer before turning back to the TV.
"Nevermind," she muttered.
Nina bit her lip as she processed his words.
Rather than stick around to be further scolded, Nina felt it was better to leave the villa saying nothing
else.It was twilight.
Nina was bathed in a warm glow as the sun's rays faded. She looked up at the sky.
The lovely array of auburn and purple tones helped calm her racing thoughts.
Nina strolled leisurely down the street. Her stomach pain was greatly alleviated with each step.
Without knowing, Nina had walked a long way until it was nighttime.
The cool evening breeze was comfortable, and Nina's annoyance gradually dissipated.
Nina didn't want to go home, even though it was getting late.
With Carlee's sour mood and her conversation with Sylvia, Nina’s heart couldn't take anymore stress.
She just wanted to stay away from that villa.
As the evening progressed, fewer people were out and about, and the occasional car sped by.
After spending the night outside, Nina felt sleepy and noticed that she could feel her baby kicking.
"Baby, are you tired too?" Nina muttered to herself as she stopped walking to rub her stomach.
The unborn baby seemed to hear her and wiggled again in response to Nina’s voice.
This pleasantly surprised Nina and continued to caress her restless stomach.
"Good baby.Mommy will find a place to rest.Just wait now," she whispered softly.
Since the baby was no longer active, Nina looked about for a bench to sit on, but there were none to be
found.
Thus, she set out to find stores that were still open.
When Nina looked to her right, she saw a dimly lighted alley and took a break to get some food.
Although it was dark, she could make out a restaurant at the end of the long alley.
After seeing the words "Olive Garden" etched into the plaque, Nina was in no mood to proceed with her
walk.
In particular, she craved a huge bowl of spaghetti.
"Baby, Momma is going to take you to eat spaghetti."
Nina stood with her hands on her belly at the alley's entrance.
This time the infant did not respond, so she assumed it was napping.
One side of her stomach was slightly bulging, as if a small butt was sticking up.
"Well, you sleep and I'll eat more food, so you will grow faster," Nina said as she walked down the alley.
With the love of her child, Nina walked into the Olive Garden. She was seated right away because of
the lack of customers.
Nina had the complimentary Caesar salad and some extra toppings, in addition to her bowl of
spaghetti.
Since Nina hadn't eaten lunch at her regular hour, she understood that keeping a consistent flow of
nourishment was crucial for the child's development. She was going to make up for it by eating this
large dinner.
After about half an hour, Nina made her way carefully back to the alley.
It was past nine o'clock and Nina still hadn't heard from Harley. He must still be with Sylvia.
Thinking of this made Nina’s heart hurt.
Harley had completely forgotten about her and didn’t even care that she had been on her own for
hours.
