Victoria again?
Chapter 23
Lorraine
“Thank you very much, sir.” I replied shyly after moving away from him quickly, wondering what pushed him to show a public display of affection.
He dipped his hands into his pants and smirked. “You are very welcome.”Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
Then I realised what happened as his smirk stretched. His hug had two meanings: slowly, he wanted to show everyone that I was his. Secondly, he was truly happy for him.
A lot would go down once we got home today.
Stefan went on with the name calling while I engaged in an eye battle with him, not minding if others would be giving us a very serious scrutiny.
I knew they liked him. Most of the models had gossiped about how they’d do anything to be on his bed because of how sexy he was.
Sometimes, I smiled after hearing their conversations, knowing that it would never happen because I for one wouldn’t allow it since I was his wife.
Yes! The kind of jealousy that spurs through me whenever I see ladies outrightly seducing him couldn’t be explained, and soon I’ll be marking my territory.
“We can all go home and take a break. If there’s any new update, you’ll be duly informed.” Stefan concluded as we jammed our hands together, applauding him with sighs of relief.
Since I didn’t want to raise more suspicions, I decided to head home straight. The taxi driver that carried me to and fro wouldn’t know where I was presently and I didn’t want to bother calling him.
I stood at the side of the road, waiting for any cab that would be available to take me home when my familiar cab ride stopped in front of me.
My eyes reeled in shock as I wondered how he got to know my location. Now, I could say that I wasn’t imagining things when I felt that someone was trying to make my life easy.
There was only one way to find out, and I would.

Surprisingly, Dexter was already home before me. How he was able to pull that off, I couldn’t tell, because I was very sure that I left before him.
The aroma of mouth watering dishes wafted into my nose and instantly, I was reminded of how hungry I was. Even if Dexter and I weren’t on good terms, the fact that he was thoughtful enough to make dinner helped my resentment to melt a little.
I trudged to the kitchen after dropping my bag on the bed. What a way to end the day.
The minute I entered, he darted his gaze to my figure at the door and offered a sweet smile that almost made me want to kiss him.
I say again, Dexter was the only man that could get different emotions out of me without breaking a sweat. Presently, there were just two things I felt-joy and an unusual urge to have him inside of me.
Crazy, right?
How did I move from not wanting him around me to craving his dick?
“You can keep staring all you want. I know I’m a sexy piece of meat and the good news is that you can have all of me.” He chuckled sweetly, his attention all fixed on the cooker.
“I don’t want you, Dexter, so stop getting ahead of yourself.” I lied.
He snorted and wiped his hand with one of the clean towels on the counter. “Of course, I know I’m getting ahead of myself, but don’t deny that you want me. Your eyes are blazing with need, and do you know why I’m happy?” He paused, propping his arm against his waist.
“Why?” I asked almost inaudibly, knowing that I’d been caught because my husband right here can see through me.
“Because I’ve always wanted to be truly wanted by you and slowly we are getting there.”
Maybe I should just consider him. We are two grown adults who could have sex and forget about it, but I was very certain that I’d never forget about it if we ever made love again.
“What’s for dinner?” I blurted, getting uncomfortable with his subtle way of initiating sex.
He bobbed his head backwards, apparently taken aback by the change of subject. He answered anyway. “I’m making a three course meal to celebrate your success. For starters, take this.”
He set a plate of spinach artichoke dip in front of me then handed me a towel. I stared at it for a while then averted my gaze to the maker. His eyes were filled with anticipation so I dove in, my eyes shut as I enjoyed the sweet sensations that I got from the food.
When I opened my eyes, his finger was on the side of my lips, wiping off the smear from the cream he used. “This is so delicious. Are you sure that you really made this yourself?”
A glint of satisfaction flashed in his eyes. “How many times am I going to remind you that I cook very well?” He muttered, sounding offended. “Maybe the next meal will convince you.”
He returned to the counter to check on what he was cooking, then I remembered the question I’d wanted to ask.
“You got home earlier than me even when I left before you? How so?” I probed.
With a shrug, he said, “Difference in speed, Honey. You can’t expect a Toyota Prius to give a Cadillac SRX a heart slamming race.”
He just shot himself in the foot. “It’s been you all along, Dexter.” I whispered in sheer realization while a knowing smirk touched his lips.
“It actually took you so long to figure that out. Did you think that I’d let you jump into buses when I know that your safety is at stake?”
I gasped in unbelief. “Then why did you act like you didn’t care?”
“That’s what you decided to see, Lorraine.” He turned off the gas and strolled over to my side. “I’ve always cared, even when you broke my heart into pieces and gave me reasons not to trust you again, my heart couldn’t bear the fact that someone wants you hurt.”
Tears were already beginning to form in my eyes and it was just a matter of seconds before they cascaded down my cheeks. “Whatever you thought I did, I swear that I didn’t do it.” I admitted, my voice cracking.
His hands squeezed my shoulders a bit lightly as he lowered his face to my ear. “I don’t know whether to trust you on that, but know this, I will never allow anyone to hurt you apart from me. One of these days, you’ll begin to pay back for all the pain you caused me.”
“I…..” I shivered at the intensity of his words but I wasn’t scared. Strangely, I anticipated his punishment.
His index finger cut me short as he shushed me. “Let’s forget about the punishment and focus on how we feel right now.”
Blood rushed to my face, my heart thudding so fast as he merged our lips together. It was the sweetest feeling, mixed with a tinge of pain that stemmed out from knowing he didn’t trust me.
The kiss was intense, anything but gentle. We were both desperate to feel each other, our hands roved over our bodies with fervency, spiking the flames of pleasure.
“Upstairs, huh?” He broke the kiss, hoisting me up so that my legs could straddle his waist.
I nodded in haze as I couldn’t trust my voice to make a coherent reply. When I didn’t say anything else, he smiled. “My room it is.”
I loved how prompt he was about everything. We’d left the kitchen, almost getting to the stairs when the front door pushed open, then a scream followed immediately.
Fear surged through me as I struggled to get down to my feet which he didn’t allow. Our gaze flew to the visitor who was no other than Victoria whose lips were widely parted, eyes bulging, with a big channel box beside her.
