The Truth
A few months earlier.
.
Anna Maria Lopez gazed back at the piece of paper given specifically to her. The woman continued to read carefully, grasping the instructions provided. Clearly written there was the name of someone she was supposed to find. The name of a man who wasn’t entirely unfamiliar to her ears.
Kaivan Maximilian.
Four Seasons Hotel (Netral Place)
Park Lane
Secret Code: A1
Anne brought her hand to swipe the screen of the cellphone she held. Opening a search page on the internet, she typed the name ‘Kaivan’ into the available field in order to gather the needed information.
“Kaivan Maximilian,” the woman read. “Owner of the Four Seasons Hotel chain. Eldest child of businessman Federich Maximilian. Single, successful at a young age, and…”
Anne immediately sharpened her eyes to read this particular piece of information.
“Famously associated with many women from the world of celebrities and famous models.”
Oh my goodness!
Anne muttered unconsciously.
“So, I’m going to deal with a top-notch Playboy?”
Anne’s gaze then shifted to the row of Headline News displayed just below the search column. There, various news pieces were written about a Kaivan Maximilian.
“Kaivan Maximilian just inaugurated the latest branch of the Four Seasons Hotel in Amsterdam, Netherlands.”
.
“Here’s a series of Beautiful Models who have been in a relationship with a successful entrepreneur, Kaivan Maximilian.”
.
“Kaivan Maximilian is rumored to have no plans of getting married in the near future.”
.
Anne repeatedly took a deep breath. Not yet entirely out of the clutches of trouble, she now had to prepare herself to enter another complex problem.
However, the task had been given. She had to go to Kaivan’s hotel because it was one of the three Neutral Places inaccessible to any mafia. That’s why, as per the instructions, she had to go to the hotel immediately to seek refuge from her pursuers.
On the other hand, to complete the mission assigned to her, Anne had to find a way to approach Kaivan without arousing suspicion.
For nearly two weeks, Anne intensively gathered information. She began collecting data, even forming a plan for the target to accept and help her seek shelter from the pursuit of the mafia.
Until one day, Anne received information that her target would be attending a party at an exclusive bar in a renowned hotel. Armed with courage and high self-confidence, Anne approached Kaivan, who was drinking with his friends at that time. Without hesitation, she introduced herself and engaged in conversation for a while.
When Kaivan and his friends became slightly intoxicated, Anne swiftly took action. She asked the bartender to deliver a glass of margarita she had prepared earlier and handed it to Kaivan. Without the slightest suspicion, he downed the drink. After a while, his consciousness gradually faded, and he eventually lost consciousness.
With the remaining strength she had, Anne guided Kaivan to the hotel room she had prepared. And after that, everything happened just like that.
****
Throughout his life, Kaivan never thought he would meet a woman like Anna Maria. Initially, he even disliked the beautiful woman. To him, Anne was nothing more than a disruptor. Coming from nowhere and suddenly claiming to be carrying his child.
Living under the same roof as Anne didn’t immediately melt Kaivan’s heart. Even after officially marrying her, he still regarded Anne as nothing more than a nuisance.
Until the time came when Anne’s displayed attitudes started to catch his attention. Especially after she saved his life twice. Kaivan convinced himself that he was becoming interested in the beautiful woman.
However, just as he was enjoying the growing affection, Kaivan was shocked by a fact he had never imagined before. How could the woman who had claimed to be carrying his child still be a virgin? He even made sure of what he was feeling.
“Anne… are you kidding me? You’re still a virgin?”
Anne, who was initially captivated by all the sweet talk Kaivan was giving her, snapped back to reality. Still catching her breath, she straightened her body and shook her head gently.
“I-I can explain everything,” Anne replied, stuttering. She could clearly see how the warm expression Kaivan had initially shown was now replaced by an aura full of emotions. He must be angry or perhaps disappointed.
“No!” Kaivan retorted. “You clearly lied to me.” He stood up in response.
However, before walking away, Anne promptly grabbed Kaivan’s wrist, asking him to sit back down beside her. She thought that tonight was the right time to reveal all the secrets she had tightly kept from everyone.
“I beg you, please listen to my explanations,” Anne pleaded, begging for a chance. “It’s not what you think.”
“You yourself didn’t want to listen to my explanations earlier,” Kaivan replied. This statement almost sounded like revenge for what Anne had done to him earlier.
“I implore you. My life depends on you.”
For a moment, Kaivan took a deep breath. Seeing Anne’s mournful yet hopeful gaze, he finally nodded, agreeing to the woman’s request.
“Alright. I’ll listen to all your explanations. Please tell me everything without hiding anything from me.”
Anne nodded softly. Then, not long after, she began to tell her story.
“All this time, I’ve been chased by a group of mafia because I have a chip that contains a big secret about their organization.” Anne then brought her hand to touch the necklace she had always been wearing. “This locket holds the chip. There are many secrets about the illegal businesses they’ve been running and which government officials are involved in these dirty dealings.”
“I thought that Luca and his men were chasing me intentionally because they wanted to use me as bait. They deliberately caught me to lure out Giorgino, whom they’ve been searching for. But it turns out I was wrong.”
Both of Anne’s eyebrows furrowed as she listened to Kaivan’s words.

“Actually, ever since you first came to this hotel, I instructed Hans to investigate your background.”
“Oh my goodness!” Anne exclaimed inadvertently. “That means you’ve known who I really am all along?”
Kaivan nodded.
“Not everything. Only a few important pieces of information about you. Even about your pregnancy, it’s been a mystery to me until now. And now, I’m even surprised by the fact that you’re still a virgin.” Kaivan sighed for a moment before continuing. “What kind of game have you been playing with me, Anna Maria?”
