THE DEMON SURVEY
"Take this; I want you to answer this survey for me," he said, giving her the document. She quickly took it from him, glancing at it. "What's the survey about?" she inquired.
"It's our new project, and I just want you to review it. Don't get me wrong, you are not the only one I am giving this to." He lied, avoiding her gaze and pretending to look busy by operating his computer. "Okay," she said and went to her desk with the document. She placed it on the desk, grabbed a pen, and glanced at it.
"I wonder what he is thinking; I wish I could read minds." She muttered to herself and opened the first page. Her eyes landed on the first question. The first question was ridiculous, and it was.
"Does the King of Hell exist?" "Hmm, I don't know if I should answer this." She thought to herself while unknowingly biting the edge of the pen. She decided to put "No" She moved on to the next question, which was asking what demons eat. She frowned as she felt like she was being interrogated by someone, and she didn't find it funny.
"Why do they come to earth?" She read out loud and gazed at Ralph, who looked away immediately. She glared at him with suspicious eyes, under the impression that he was trying to get something out of her.
She took a deep breath and decided to answer the questions as a human would. She reached for the last question and saw that he was asking where they could get sapphire. The answer was clearly hell, but she decided to act dumb and say that it was no longer in existence; she dropped the pen and stretched her muscles.NôvelDrama.Org is the owner.
"Are you, through?" he asked in a deep and curious tone. She narrowed her eyes at him and replied.
"No," she said as she spun on the revolver chair. "Is this some kind of demon test? These are the things only a demon would know; is he trying to know if I am a demon?" she thought, covering the document. She sauntered to his desk and placed the document in front of him. He smiled and opened the first page when he noticed she was still standing there.
"You can go; I will be in charge of delivering Deacon's food today." He said and disappeared with the paper in his arms. Making Lucinda snort.
Ralph appeared at Deacon's gate with a document. He knocked on the gate, and Deacon opened it, immediately flying out of it, making Ralph step backward to create space for him.
"I brought the survey for us to read and figure out together," Ralph said, lifting the document in the air. Deacon's dragon's eyes narrowed on him.
"Before you start reading, where is my food?" He asked.
"Sheesh, you can't be thinking about food at a time like this." Ralph said, placing his right hand on his face in disbelief.
"Then I won't listen if you don't get my food; besides, I wasn't the one doubting her intentions." Deacon said making Ralph grunt in anger.
"Alright, wait here. I already gave her your food; I will go get it." Ralph assured and slowly placed the document on the floor in front of Deacon, who grumbled. Ralph vanished into thin air and appeared back in the office, walking over to Lucinda on the desk.
"Where is Deacon's food?" he asked her.
"Huh? Is there a problem? I thought you had something else to give him since you said his food would be taken care of." She replied.
"I don't have any; I will do it myself today," he said. She pouted her lips, took the bag of meat out of her drawer, and handed it to him. He held it and disappeared before her eyes.
"Wow! I wish I could use my powers like him." Lucinda remarked with a grin, placing her head on the desk.
Ralph placed Deacon's food in front of him and held the document, glancing at it while Deacon started eating. Immediately after Deacon finished eating, he breathed out fire, making Ralph move away from him with the document. "What are you doing? Are you trying to destroy the survey?" Ralph inquired; his brow furrowed.
"Chill out, boy, you are overreacting and stressing yourself too much. You were supposed to be looking for sapphires, not making everything about your beautiful assistant." Deacon commented.
"I think your attitude is one of the reasons no woman has ever liked you or come close to you," Deacon stated.
"I have greater things to think about other than women." Ralph replied, lifting his upper lip in disgust.
"But you are thinking about a woman right now; you are just suspecting innocent Lucinda." Deacon concluded.
"Stop talking and listen to the survey; the first question is, does the King of Hell exist?"
"Give me a break. She knows it's Lucifer since we told her." Deacon commented.
"She got the answer right, but that doesn't mean we told her everything in the survey." Ralph continued reading the survey and paused.
"You see, she is innocent. She answers the questions she knows correctly, and for the ones she doesn't, she writes what she thinks will be the answer. For those questions she got right, we already told her." Deacon said. "But we told her sapphire were in hell." Ralph said
"What exactly did she write?" Deacon asked.
"She writes it's no longer in existence," he muttered.
"She is correct in a way, so can you leave? I need to meditate. I think you have trust issues." Deacon stated
"I don't have trust issues! I'm just following my instincts!" Ralph snapped.
"You may leave now instinct follower." Deacon snarled, spreading his wings, and started flying back into the gate; the gate closed immediately when he entered. Ralph ran to the gate, banging on it.
"I am telling you what I think; I think she is a demon I can't detect!" Ralph shouted. His eyes changed to red before he stopped banging on the door and disappeared. He stomped over to Lucinda's desk, she looked at him, and he slammed the document on top of it, resting his hand on top of it. Lucinda's body shivered in fear at seeing his reaction.
