Chapter 30
Samuel’s expression was unreadable, and he didn’t answer Shelmaine’s question. Shelaine felt as though her words had landed on cotton—soft and ineffectual,
“What were you thinking when you married me? Did you find it amusing? Or did you think I was so foolish and easy to manipulate?” Shelmaine’s voice was choked with emotion.
Her vision was blurred by her tears, and her chest felt heavy and tight.
Samuel replied. “I didn’t mean to bully you.”
He was truly concise, unwilling to say even one extra word
Shelmine was about to speak when the sudden sound of a phone ringing interrupted her.
It was Samuel’s phone.
Samaelmuttered an apology and glanced at the screen.
His expression changed slightly when he saw that it was a call from Natasha’s manager.
Shelmaine’s frustration grew, “You should take the call. Handle your business first“.
Samuel looked at her and said, “I have some things to deal with. Rest here for now, and we’ll talk later.”
Shelmaine turned her face away, blinking and fighting to hold back her tears.
She didn’t want to cry, and she especially didn’t want to cry in front of Samuel. It would only make her seem weak and powerless
After Samuel left the room to take the call, be answered in a calm voice, “What’s the matter?”
“Samuel, it’s bad. Natasha is missing”
Samuel frowned “How did she go missing?”
“I don’t know. Her mother just called me to ask if I’d seen her. I called her phone, but it’s been turned off. I’ve sent messages, but no one is responding either. We have no idea where she is!”
“Have you reported it to the police yet?”
“Yes, but there’s no news yet. Her mother said she has depression and is worried she might do something drastic.”
“Find more people to search for her. Do it quickly.”
“Wright, I do it now!”
After ending the call, Samuel tried calling Natasha’s phone again with no success.
He then checked WhatsApp–Natasha hadn’t sent any messages, and his voice messages went unanswered.
Shelmaine heard about Natasha’s disappearance from Isabelle.
Having been discharged from the hospital and feeling a bit hungry, she cooked some oatmeal. The pot was bubbling with steam, and her phone was on speaker.
“What’s Natasha up to now? I don’t believe she’s really in a bad state, it seems to me like she’s just seeking attention. Maybe she found out that you’re pregnant and is trying to create a scene to get noticed.
“Is she trying to sabotage things because she’s afraid Samuel might come back to you?” shelmaine asked.
So, that was why Samuel had left in such a hurry that afternoon.
“I’m sure she’s just causing trouble to get attention. I’ll check for more information. Wait for me!” Isabelle immediately said.
Shelmaine tried to stop her, but Isabelle had already hung upContent rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.
As Shelmaine wiped her damp hands and picked up her phone to message Isabelle, she noticed several messages
After opening them, she saw that they were all hateful messages directed at her. Some even named her specifically, clearly intended as attacles,
*shelmaine, you shameless woman!”
“You worthless woman, raining other people’s relationships. Why don’t you just die?”
“you deserve to be struck by lightning!”
“How did your parents raise someone like you? If anything happens to Natasha, you’ll get what’s coming to you?“!
Shelmaine’s eyelids twitched uncontrollably.
Dozens of these messages were criticizing her, and some callers were shouting insults at her over the phone–mixed voices of men and women, all aimed at her. Shelmaine silenced her phone, but the hateful words lingered in her mind,
If anything happened to Natasha, she would be blamed as the culprit, and she felt that she would deserve to be punished endlessly.
The situation with Natasha had left her teeing nauseous, but for the sake of her unborn child, she forced herself to eat a few bites of food.
However, shortly afterward, she vomited everything up
