Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 308
Chapter 308
Chapter 308 His “Tyrannical” Behavior “You‘re not allowed to go!”
Clarissa hadn‘t expected Damien to be so strongly against her attending her grandmother‘s funeral. ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
“Why?! She‘s my grandmother, and I suspect that someone set the fire on purpose!”
“This isn‘t something you need to look into.” Damien‘s tone was a lot calmer now.
“You gave me sleeping pills when my mother passed away, and I missed her funeral. Now, you won‘t
even let me attend my grandmother‘s funeral? I‘ve already decided to forget about what happened in
the past, so don‘t do anything that‘s going to remind me of that!” Clarissa was furious.
Damien raised an eyebrow at her.
“Your main priority now is to give birth to my babies.” He stared at her belly. “I‘m not a tool for
reproduction!”
“Whatever it is, you‘re not allowed to go. If you insist on going... go ahead and try!” Damien said. “What
are you going to do? Give me sleeping pills again? If you do, I‘ll get rid of your babies right now! I‘ve
already said that I‘ve decided to leave the past behind, Damien, so don‘t make me put my guard up
again!” Clarissa shouted. He looked her in the eye. “Did you tell me that the babies were mine so you
could threaten me with them?”
She turned her head away huffily and didn‘t answer him.
She knew she would lose her freedom once she told him the babies were his.
“Transfer fifty thousand dollars to Cindy! They‘ll know why you aren‘t attending the funeral,” Damien
ordered. “If you really pull anything funny, don‘t blame me for what I do to you after that!”
“You...” Clarissa knew that she wouldn‘t be able to make him see sense.
She knew there was no chance of her attending the funeral without his permission. More importantly, it
was indeed inconvenient for her to go now that she was so far along. It wasn‘t possible for her to get rid
of the babies either. She could also understand why he didn‘t want her to go. There would be many

people at the funeral, and it was going to be held in Pentatone County. It wouldn‘t be convenient for her
to go all the way there. Moreover, Connie would be at the funeral as well. Damien probably feared that
Connie would do something bad to Clarissa. After all, they all knew what Connie was like. It wouldn‘t be
easy for Clarissa to keep herself safe. In the end, Clarissa decided to let the matter go. However, she
still found it hard to accept Damien‘s “tyrannical” behavior. She didn‘t speak to him for the rest of the
day.
She pretended not to hear him when he spoke to her, too.
Damien knew that she was throwing a tantrum, and he didn‘t want to push her too hard since she was
pregnant. Thus, he left her alone.
Clarissa transferred fifty thousand dollars to Cindy, and told the latter that she wouldn‘t be attending the
funeral because it wasn‘t convenient for her to travel so far.
Cindy: (Clarissa, you‘re not even going to attend your grandmother‘s funeral?) Clarissa: (Yeah. I‘m
afraid that something will go wrong now that I‘m so far along.)
Cindy: (Looks like your grandmother will just have to accept that she has such a selfish granddaughter.]
Clarissa felt ashamed when she saw Cindy‘s message. Her face burned.
Clarissa: [How did the fire happen?]
Cindy: (What do you mean by that? Do you suspect us of arson? If we wanted to burn her to death,
wouldn‘t we have done so back in Pentatone County? Why would we have gone to the trouble of
coming all the way here to do so when she was already so old? And why would we choose to burn her
to death, of all things? We almost died!)
Clarissa was even more confused at Cindy‘s words.
They had just moved to Genovia not too long ago. How had the apartment caught fire? Her gut feeling
told her that she had to look into it. Connie had lost her job at “Manor of the Marquis”, and now, the
apartment had been set on fire. These were not accidents.
