“My calf is cramping up,” Clarissa bemoaned. She was in so much pain, she was on the verge of crying

“Yeah. I‘ve been taking the meds on time.”

“It‘s good that you‘re not suffering from nausea throughout your pregnancy,” Damien commented all of

a sudden.

At first, Clarissa didn‘t see a problem with his statement. Fear suddenly set into her after she thought

about it. The reason why Damien was able to find out about her pregnancy was because of her

vomiting episodes.

“Did I say that in the past?”

“Don‘t you remember what you said?” Damien asked.

“I did vomit a few times at the start of the pregnancy, but after that I‘m doing pretty well,” Clarissa said.

“Is that so?”

The moment he was done speaking, Damien climbed into the bed and started reading there.

“Are... Are you sleeping here tonight?” Clarissa shot him a side–eyed look. “Of course.”

That night, Damien and Clarissa were very quiet. Soon, the latter fell asleep. Damien switched off the

lights and went to bed at around eleven o‘clock.

In the past, if Damien heard about the news he found out through Clarissa and Lily‘s conversation

earlier that morning, he would‘ve punished Clarissa many times in a row. She had talked about

marrying her first love. Not to mention, Landon had a crush on her. She made all preparations for her

overseas trip without letting him know a single thing. Even after Damien deleted her email address, it

did nothing to halt the progress. In fact, she was still determined to leave the country.

Damien already had a feeling that Landon had feelings for Clarissa. After all, that man did plead for her

pregnancy test there in order to sever her relationship with Damien permanently.

That was enough to prove that Clarissa wasn‘t pregnant at all that night. If she was already pregnant to

begin with, all she had to do was buy her own pregnancy test instead of using someone else‘s test

stick. It was an unnecessary thing to do, after all.

Hence, Clarissa would have gotten pregnant after that night.

Then again, Damien couldn‘t exclude the possibility of her getting impregnated by Joseph.

The thought of both of them going at it made Damien feel jealous.

However, he was fifty–five percent sure that the babies belonged to him. This was a huge change in

mindset, considering the fact that he once believed with all his heart that the babies came from

Joseph‘s seed.

The reason why Damien‘s hope was increased by five percent was due to Clarissa‘s lies.
