Chapter 269

Chapter 269 Why Are You Asking About Her?

While Clarissa was sitting on the bed, Lily sent her a message.

Lily: Clarissa, I‘ve just returned to Genovia. Let‘s go out and have lunch.)

Since Clarissa had nothing to do these days, she agreed.

Clarissa: Sure, where do you want to meet?!

Lily: You choose I‘m not a local here!

Clarissa thought about the restaurant Damien used to bring her.

Then, she forwarded the address to Lily.

Clarissa: (What do you think about this place?)

Lily: I Has President Lawrence brought you there before?)

Clarissa: Why do you have to make it sound like that? Don‘t tell me you only favor Damien‘s

recommendation and not mine. Let me reassure you, then. Damien has brought me to that place

before. Are you happy now?)

She sounded really sarcastic.

Lily: (‘The places that President Lawrence frequents must be high–end restaurants with good reviews.

Let‘s meet at around noon tomorrow. I have to run some errands for my sister today. It‘s your treat!)

Clarissa: (Alright.)

The next day, Clarissa went to see Lily. Mrs. Faber came along with her as well.

Right at this moment, Mrs. Faber ran out of the bathroom and said, “Clarissa, I think there‘s something

wrong with the faucet. Water keeps on flowing out even though I‘ve turned it off. I don‘t know how to fix

this, and I don‘t think I know the contact number of the plumber either.”

At this moment, Leah was already waiting downstairs.

Clarissa looked at her watch. It was already eleven in the morning.

“Just leave it be. You can contact the plumber while we‘re in the car. You can use a cloth to stop the

leakage for now,” Clarissa said.

“Okay,” Mrs. Faber came outside right after she made a temporary fix to the problem.

After they got into the car, Mrs. Faber sent a message to Damien.

Mrs. Faber: (President Lawrence, the faucet in the bathroom is broken. Can you send me the

plumber‘s number? I‘ll ask them to come to fix it.)

Damien didn‘t reply to that message.

“He didn‘t reply to my message,” Mrs. Faber said. “I think he‘s busy with work right now,” Clarissa

guessed. She didn‘t know what he was doing at the moment.

“What do we do then? The floor will be very wet and slippery if we leave it be. You might slip and fall,”

Mrs. Faber said with concern.

At first, Clarissa wanted to tell Mrs. Faber to stop informing Damien for every little thing. However, she

swallowed back the words when she realized that Mrs. Faber was just looking out for her.

“It‘s fine. I can just use the other bathroom in the house,” Clarissa said.

Lily and Clarissa met in front of the restaurant.

After Mrs. Faber made sure that Clarissa had arrived safely, she left with the chauffeur.

Mrs. Faber wanted Clarissa to call her after she was done with her meeting with Lily. In the meantime,

she would go shopping around with Leah.

The moment Clarissa and Lily entered the restaurant, the owner told them that they didn‘t have any

private lounges left, and that they could only sit in the yard. © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.

The yard wasn‘t an open–air space. Although it was air–conditioned, it still felt stuffy.

She knew this would happen. Everyone was celebrating the new year, after all.

The waiter led them to a table just beside the windows as Clarissa sat down comfortably on the sofa.

Just opposite the windows was a private lounge with two people inside, Damien and Madelynn.

The lounge was sound–proof in a way that only the people inside could hear sounds from the outside.

Clarissa and Lily couldn‘t hear their conversation at all.

“Such a coincidence! Your ex–wife is here. Would you look at her stomach? It‘s so big!” Madelynn

exclaimed as she stared at Clarissa‘s baby bump.

As Clarissa‘s baby bump got bigger and bigger, Clarissa felt happier than ever. Madelynn thought that

Damien probably wouldn‘t feel the same about this. After all, he wasn‘t the father of her children.

“Yes.” Damien shot a look at Clarissa outside the windows.

He had noticed Clarissa the moment she entered the yard.

“Have you been living with her nowadays?” Madelynn asked with caution.

“No, I‘ve moved back to the villa,” Damien said while fiddling with his cup.

“Your relationship with her is in the past now, right?” Madelynn asked.

“Yes.”

When Madelynn heard that, she felt relieved. Since they were already divorced and were living

separately, Madelynn didn‘t have to worry anymore. What was more, Clarissa was now pregnant with

Joseph‘s children.

At this point, Clarissa just wasn‘t that much of a threat to Madelynn now.

“How‘s Connie?” Damien asked.

Madelynn looked surprised. “Why are you asking about her?”
