Chapter 267 I‘ve Never Seen President Lawrence Smile Before

The moment Clarissa returned home, she went straight into her room and wrote an email to Kortel

University. The email was as follows: Thank you for your email. I have received the offer letter and will

attend the classes as scheduled.

She even requested the university to send a physical copy to another place.

At this moment, Damien knocked on the door.

Shocked, Clarissa closed her laptop immediately.

“It‘s time for you to take your medicine,” he said.

Still struggling to recover from the shock, she thought, ‘If he scares me like this every single day, I‘m

sure I‘ll get a heart attack one day.‘

“Are... Are you leaving tomorrow?” she asked out of the blue.

“Do you want me to leave that badly?” he asked as he placed a glass of water and her medicine on the

table.

“Of course not. I‘m just asking,” Clarissa said.

For some reason, there seemed to be a barrier between herself and Damien lately. They couldn‘t even

speak like they used to anymore.

At night, Damien made dinner. After they had dinner, Clarissa went straight to bed.

The moment she closed the door, Damien entered the room.

They looked into each other‘s eyes.

“Can we sleep early tonight?” she begged, and looked up at him.

“Yes.”

While on the bed, Clarissa kept shifting around to find a comfortable position. Being a heavily pregnant

woman, she couldn‘t lay still without feeling uncomfortable.

“Stop moving around!” Damien ordered, wrapping her in his arms. Worried that he might make a move

on her, she thought, ‘He‘s so bossy! He wouldn‘t even let me move around!‘ Although she was

displeased, she didn‘t move an inch for fear of provoking his sexual desires.

In the end, she didn‘t sleep well the entire night.

Finally, morning arrived and she got up. When she thought that Damien would be leaving today, she

got extremely excited.

While Damien was changing into a new set of clothes, she glanced at him for a split second before

turning her head away. Original from NôvelDrama.Org.

Around ten in the morning, Mrs. Faber arrived.

As she lived in the countryside, Mrs. Faber brought back a lot of fresh produce from her farm.

Immediately, she stuffed everything into the fridge and prepared breakfast for Clarissa.

Before leaving, Damien greeted Mrs. Faber and informed her that he wouldn‘t be back for a while.

Clarissa looked down as she enjoyed her breakfast.

She wouldn‘t dare to say anything nice to him. What would she do if changed his mind?

After all, he had always treated her words very seriously.

The moment Damien got into his car, the first thing he did was calling his assistant to deal with some

work–related matters. Then, he tasked his assistant with hiring Yvonne as Clarissa‘s personal yoga

instructor this evening. With Damien gone, Clarissa felt it was as if a weight was finally lifted off her

shoulders. She wasn‘t as nervous as before.

“How‘s your holiday, Mrs. Faber? I heard your son‘s about to take his final year exam in high school.

How‘s his revision going?” Clarissa felt relaxed as she chatted merrily with Mrs. Faber.

“He‘s been studying day and night! I hope his grades are good enough to land him in reputable

universities in Genovia. I won‘t stop him from pursuing his passions.” Mrs. Faber sounded grateful to

have such a hardworking son.

Clarissa thought, ‘As a mother, I‘m sure Mrs. Faber just wants the best for her son. At the end of the

day, Damien‘s not my father. That‘s probably why he deleted my offer letter without even thinking how

I‘d feel about it.”

Thinking about Damien made her feel depressed.

If Theresa was still alive, she would‘ve been proud of Clarissa for her achievements.

In the evening, Yvonne arrived. She even went out her way to notify Clarissa before arriving at her

doorstep.

Yvonne was a forty year–old woman with a kind disposition and a sweet voice. As a yoga instructor,

she had a slender figure. Since she knew that it was Clarissa‘s first class, she even brought a set of

yoga clothes and a mat for her.

“Thank you, Yvonne. But how do you know my size?” Clarissa asked.

Yvonne smiled, “President Lawrence was the one who told me your size.”

When Clarissa heard that, she was moved for some reason.

“I‘ve been working at New East for a few months, and I‘ve never seen him smile before. However, he

was smiling from ear to ear when talking about you. That‘s the first time I

saw him smile,” Yvonne chuckled,

Clarissa was puzzled. ‘What‘s he smiling about? He doesn‘t even know that he‘s the father.

Soon, they started their first lesson together. Although Clarissa couldn‘t get used to the positions at the

start, she caught on to her instructions pretty quickly.

Before Yvonne left, she told Clarissa that she would come at two in the afternoon everyday for her

Yoga class. Each session would last for one hour.

Her class schedule would still be the same after she started her new position at New East Corporation.

Clarissa was curious about what Damien was up to these few days without her.

Ever since he moved out, Clarissa felt like a free woman. Since she hadn‘t started work, she didn‘t

have to wake up early every day. Life had never been so peaceful. Every day, Mrs. Faber would

prepare her every meal, and Yvonne would provide Yoga classes in the afternoon.

Clarissa felt rejuvenated. Living alone wasn‘t that bad after all!
