Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 264
Chapter 264
Chapter 264 What Are You Crying About? Noticing that Clarissa wasn‘t responding to him, Damien
walked into the room. “What do you want to eat for lunch?” he asked,
Clarissa was staring vacantly into space, her phone sliding to the floor.
Damien frowned and reached for Clarissa‘s phone.
He looked at the messages inside the group, and the ones from Joseph as well. “What are you crying
about?” Then, Damien walked outside.
From the living room, she heard him mentioning her name while he was on a phone call. She also
heard the names of the people and programs that she had partnered with before in New East
Corporation. The only keywords she could hear were James Royle and The Green Project.
As for his entire conversation, she didn‘t catch on to anything.
When Damien entered her room once again, Clarissa wiped off her tears.
“Why are you helping me? Isn‘t this what you want? For me to be separated from Joseph?” Clarissa
said while sobbing.
“Nobody can treat you with disrespect. Not on my watch!”
At this point, Clarissa wasn‘t registering what he was saying at all. Her mind was completely blank, and
she didn‘t know how to feel.
“What do you want to eat for lunch?” he asked her.
“I just had breakfast. I don‘t feel like eating anymore,” Clarissa shook her head.
Last year was the worst year of her life. Not only did she lose her beloved mother, but she also lost
Grandpa Lawrence. This year, she was off with a bad start. It was just the start of the year, and she had
already lost her job.
“Why don‘t you eat out with me then?” he grabbed her hand,
“I don‘t feel like it. I‘m tired,” Clarissa lay down on the bed.
Placing both her hands on her temples, she stared at the scenery outside the windows. “It‘s just eleven
in the morning and you‘re already tired? Don‘t lie to me! I won‘t fall for that.” Damien didn‘t sound as
cruel as before.
For some reason, Clarissa let down her guard and tears flowed down her cheeks. She couldn‘t contain
her emotions anymore as she sobbed uncontrollably.
She didn‘t know why she was bawling her eyes out. Damien‘s soft spoken words reminded her of the
past, where they were still a lovey–dovey couple, and her mother and Grandpa Lawrence were still
alive and well.
“What‘s wrong?” Damien sat at her bedside and caressed her hair. Noticing that she was crying even Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
harder than before, Damien reassured her, “Don‘t worry, they‘re not getting any projects this year.”
Damien sounded like he was trying to coax a child with sweets.
Chapter 24 Wha! Are You Crying About?
“How do you do it?” she asked. “I‘ve already contacted everyone in Genovia.” Clarissa glanced at him,
still miserable. ‘How did he do that in just a few minutes...? This man is really something.‘ “Were you
the one behind Nicole‘s imprisonment?” she asked Damien. “How did she turn out to be a spy for
another company?” “I‘m not sure.”
“You‘re not sure? Or you don‘t want to talk about it?” Clarissa demanded.
“Do you want to go out and have lunch with me?”
Clarissa wasn‘t in a good mood, and staying inside the room all day wouldn‘t be good for her mental
health as well. Since Mrs. Faber wasn‘t here to cook for her, she decided to go out with Damien.
Sitting in the backseat of the car, Clarissa looked out of the window and noticed that there were fewer
cars on the street.
“Why are there no cars on the road?” It was winter, and all the trees had lost their leaves. With almost
nobody on the streets, it didn‘t look like a festive season at all. “They‘ve all gone back home to
celebrate the new year. What should we eat?” Damien asked. Clarissa shook her head, “I don‘t feel like
eating anything. I‘ll just watch you.” “Are you sure?” he asked jokingly. “I‘m not in the mood to eat. I‘m
depressed,” Clarissa said.
Damien looked at her, and didn‘t say anything further.
Last year, they were still a family. This year, all that was left was the two of them.
Though they hated each other for the past few months for everything that had happened, they were
slowly working on building their relationship from scratch again.
