Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 254
Chapter 254
Chapter 254 Are You Crazy?
At three in the evening, the party ended and Joseph drove Clarissa and Mrs. Faber home.
Clarissa was sitting on the sofa with the two dolls in her hands. She wondered where to put them.
Mrs. Faber dropped by, and saw Clarissa‘s great liking for the dolls. She didn‘t think much of them and
thought they were just two little dolls.
“Do you really like the dolls that much, Madam?” Mrs. Faber asked Clarissa.
“Yes. They mean something,” Clarissa said in a mysterious tone.
The house suddenly felt so cold when she came home from the annual meeting today. Clarissa
recalled the past, and then remembered how busy it was last year. At around this time, her mom was
probably getting ready to go to Damien‘s house for New Year celebrations.
Last year, Mom and Grandpa were still around... This year, they were all gone.
Clarissa couldn‘t help but feel a little sad.
Mrs. Faber noticed Clarissa‘s sudden change in mood. She was happy earlier, but she suddenly
started wiping her tears while sitting on the sofa. Mrs. Faber knew Clarissa was missing the people
from last year again.
“Alright, Madam. Don‘t think about it anymore. You‘ll have to move on eventually, don‘t you?” Mrs.
Faber sat next to
Clarissa, comforting the latter.
“I often miss being a child. I was always with my mother. When I grew up, I always wanted her to wake
up. I‘ve never felt so much despair. I don‘t know what this feeling is... It‘s like I only have one way left in
life.” Clarissa‘s sadness came from the bottom of her heart.
She couldn‘t help but think of one saying she had heard before. “There‘s home when your parents are
here, but when they‘re gone, there‘s nowhere else to call home!‘
She couldn‘t understand this before, but she finally did. Now, she was in more despair than before.
Mrs. Faber patted Clarissa‘s shoulder kindly.
Clarissa leaned on Mrs. Faber‘s shoulder and cried her heart out. She was unable to do this with her
mother ever again. She cried and cried, and eventually fell asleep on Mrs. Faber‘s shoulder. However,
her shoulders were still trembling.
Clarissa might be pregnant, but she was still a child herself. She needed an adult around her.
Soon, Damien returned home from work. When he came back, he saw Clarissa‘s body trembling from
behind.
Mrs. Faber turned around and quietly shushed Damien. Then, she pointed at Clarissa and mouthed
silently, “She‘s sleeping.”
Damien changed his slippers and came over. He picked up Clarissa in his arms and carried her to her
room. He frowned a little as he picked her up. She was getting a little heavy, so he had a hard time
carrying her.
When he put Clarissa on the bed, Clarissa opened her eyes in a daze. When she saw him, she turned
her body away as if rejecting him. She hated this man more than ever!
Then, Clarissa fell asleep again.
Damien stood there for a while, his hands in his pockets. He was so angry that he clenched his teeth,
but in the end, he didn‘t bother with her.
He went out and returned to the living room, only to find two little dolls lying in the living room.
“What are these?” he asked.
“Oh. Clarissa won these from the lucky draw at her company‘s annual meeting. She was unlucky and
won just these dolls, but she loves them a lot,” Mrs. Faber said, smiling.
Damien took the two dolls and threw them in the trash. The two dolls broke into pieces.
Mrs. Faber knew Damien was furious. She didn‘t dare to comment much, and went straight to the
kitchen in silence.
When Clarissa got up, it was already past five. Mrs. Faber wanted to wake her up for dinner.
Damien was already sitting at the dining table.
The first thing Clarissa did when she woke up was to look for the dolls on the sofa. However, the dolls
were missing,
“Have you seen my dolls, Mrs. Faber?”
Clarissa was puzzled. The dolls represented her babies‘ health, and mustn‘t be thrown away.
“Um...” Mrs. Faber was serving the soup, and looked over at Damien awkwardly.
“I threw it away!“Damien said.
“Where did you throw them?!” Clarissa demanded, infuriated.
She was becoming a mother, and had grown superstitious about things related to her babies. She felt
that the dolls were a symbol of her children. However, Damien had thrown them away.
Mrs. Faber quietly pointed at the trash in the kitchen.
Clarissa walked over and saw the two broken dolls in the trash. Their limbs were broken into pieces. It Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
was as if someone had taken out the babies from her belly.
Clarissa was distraught. “What the hell is wrong with you?! Why do you always destroy the things I
like? Are you crazy?”
Clarissa bent down and stared at the messy broken pieces in the trash. Then, she looked up and
started cursing loudly at Damien.
Damien knew she must be referring to the book Joseph gave her–An Accountant‘s Journey. Of all
things, she brought it up again!
It was unmistakable! The boy and girl dolls were clearly a symbol of Joseph and her love! Damien
couldn‘t stand this at all.
“Madam, stop it.” Mrs. Faber urged. Clarissa was crying again. She was crying hysterically. In fact.
Meanwhile, Damien‘s face had twisted into an ugly, unpleasant look, Flustered. Mrs.
Faber tried to comfort Clarissa and said, “President Lawrence
was just careless.”
“Careless?! If he was just careless, why would he throw them in the trash?” Clarissa knew Mrs. Faber
was speaking for Damien, so she was unconvinced.
“Everything he gives you is good, right?” Damien questioned Clarissa angrily.
His question provoked Clarissa and made her enraged. She turned to Damien and yelled determinedly,
“Yes!”
Damien slammed the cutleries on the table and stormed to his room. Meanwhile, Clarissa took the dolls
out of the trash can and gathered all the broken pieces as best as she could. She glued them together,
but some parts remained broken.
Clarissa was deeply unhappy. “This is a bad sign!‘
