Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 249

Chapter 249

Chapter 249 Me After dinner, Mrs. Faber went to do the dishes.

Damien and Ray stayed in the living room and talked there. Meanwhile, Clarissa retreated to her room.

She couldn’t secure the deal with Arisona Construction, so she was anxious. She was looked down

upon because of her low education level.

Clarissa would give birth to her babies next year. After that, she must finish her graduate degree no

matter what. With that in mind, Clarissa started to write in her journal. There was plenty to write about

today. As Clarissa twirled her pen and thought about what to write, the pen fell to the floor.

She was sitting on the chair, but couldn’t bend down to pick the pen up. She tried to stand up, but her

legs were shaking. Perhaps she was tired from today.

She was so tired, she was sweating profusely. “Mrs. Faber! Mrs. Faber…!” Clarissa called desperately

for Mrs. Faber from her

room.

However, Mrs. Faber was still doing the dishes in the kitchen. Clarissa’s room was far away from the

kitchen and the tap was on, so Mrs. Faber could not hear her. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.

Clarissa was as anxious as a cat on a hot tin roof.

“What’s wrong?!” Damien pushed the door and burst in.

“Pen. My pen.” Clarissa stared at the pen. “I can’t pick it up.” She used to be so flexible, but she had to

ask for help for something as trivial as this. She was highly embarrassed. Damien saw the pen, picked

it up, and handed it to her. “What are you doing?” he asked Clarissa.

“Writing my journal,” Clarissa answered.

Damien only caught a glimpse of Clarissa’s diary, and the word “Postgraduate” caught his eyes. After

that, he swung the door open and went out.

When Clarissa finished writing her journal, she received a call from James, whom she had called this

afternoon. Why was the president of Arisona Construction calling her personally? Clarissa quickly

answered the call. “Hello, Mr. Royle. This is Clarissa from First.” Clarissa’s voice was humble and

polite.

“Oh, Clarissa. I was in a meeting when you called this afternoon. Are you interested in the auditing job

for our company? It’s the end of the year, so we’re really busy. How about this? Can you come to our

company tomorrow and discuss it in detail?” James suggested. “Sure, Mr. Royle. How about tomorrow

at ten?” Clarissa spoke in a flattering voice.

“Sure. Let’s meet in the meeting room straight away. I’ll have to talk to you about the finances with Mr.

Lark.”

Clarissa was no longer depressed after the call, but thinking about Mr. Lark’s attitude toward her earlier

today made her anxious again. She worried that he might call her out for being too young and

seemingly unprofessional in front of Mr. Royle.

Thus, Clarissa quickly texted Leah on WhatsApp. Clarissa: (Are you free tomorrow morning? Can you

take me to Arisona Construction?)

Leah: (Oh. I’m so sorry, Mrs. Lawrence. My child is sick, and I’m in the hospital with him. Can you ask

President Lawrence if he can find you another driver?]

Clarissa was disappointed. Damien was still talking to Ray in the living room. Besides, Clarissa was

starting to feel sleepy. She would have to wait until tomorrow.

When Clarissa woke up, she texted Damien the first thing in the morning.

Clarissa: [Have you left home?]

Damien: (No.)

Clarissa: (Wait for me.)

Clarissa hurriedly got dressed and went to the living room.

Damien had just finished washing up and was sitting at the dining table. He rolled up his cuffs and

asked Clarissa, “What is it?” “Can you get me another driver today? Leah said she has a sick child, so

she’s not free today.” Clarissa sat down for breakfast too.

“Where to?” Damien asked indifferently.

“Arisona Construction. Their president Mr. Royle had called me yesterday. He told me to come over.”

Clarissa could barely conceal the excitement in her voice.

“Sure,” Damien answered just as indifferently, and began to eat.

Clarissa was panicking. It was already half past eight. Even if Damien found a driver, the driver still had

to come over. There would definitely be a traffic jam in the morning rush hour.

Halfway through breakfast, Clarissa couldn’t wait any longer and asked, “Did you find a driver for me?”

2

“Yeah.”

“Who is it?”

“Me.”

“Huh?” For a moment, Clarissa was dumbfounded.
