Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 244
Chapter 244
Chapter 244 What Are You So Scared of?
After walking out of the room, Joseph saw that Damien was still seated in the living room. He was
smoking.
“Leaving already?” he asked. “You’re not going to continue talking?”
Damien’s tone was filled with sarcasm.
The way he said “talking” caught Joseph’s attention.
What did he think that they were doing?
“Yes, I’m leaving. Goodbye, President Lawrence.” Having said that, Joseph left.
Clarissa remained rooted to the spot for a long time. She felt chilly and a little dizzy, so she wanted to
shut the door and go to bed. Before she could do anything, she saw Damien come in.
At the thought of him getting rid of Emily’s baby, she was so terrified that she started trembling. She
couldn’t help feeling that her babies were in grave danger
In terms of his personality, the old Clarissa had only managed to uncover the tip of the iceberg.
“Do… Do you need anything?” she asked tremulously. This was already her second time being
frightened by Damien on the same night. She looked ashen.
“What’s wrong?” Damien asked.
“Me? I’m fine, I just feel a little cold.”
“Cold?” He grabbed her hand. It was cold as ice.
Her hair had already been damp when she’d gone to the living room earlier.
“Lie down!” Damien commanded with a frown.
“Huh?” Clarissa felt anxious, but she couldn’t just think of herself. She also had to think about her
babies. Even if Damien were to do anything to her, she couldn’t go against him directly. She lay down
on her side, trembling All content is © N0velDrama.Org.
Damien covered her with two blankets, then went to the bathroom and wet two towels with hot water
before putting them on her forehead.
Then, he called someone while standing in front of the window. “She’s probably caught a cold. You
need to come to my place.”
“I’m not staying there anymore. I’ll send you the address later.” “Remember to bring some herbal
medicine with you.”
Clarissa soon fell asleep.
In her dream, she felt like she was a pile of ice. Then she lay down next to a pile of firewood, and she
started to feel warm.
She woke up to the sound of people talking.
Her mouth was dry and had a bitter taste, and she felt terribly hot.
“Is she okay?” This was Damien’s voice.
“A normal person would be fine, but she can’t ingest any cold medicine because she’s pregnant.
Fortunately, I brought a lot of herbal medicine with me. You go and cook them.” This voice came from a
kind-looking man who seemed to be in his sixties.
When Damien saw that she was awake, he said, “This is Dr. Doyle. He’s an experienced naturopathic
doctor.” “Hi, Dr. Doyle.” Clarissa’s throat felt like sandpaper. “Nice to meet you, Mrs. Lawrence. Can
you stick your tongue out for me, please? President Lawrence, please go cook the medicine,” Dr. Doyle
said.
Clarissa stuck her tongue out obediently.
But her uneasy gaze never left Damien.
She didn’t want to be paranoid, but she was truly afraid of Damien preparing her medicine.
If she got a miscarriage at this juncture, not only would it possibly cause her to become infertile, but it
might also kill her and her babies. Before this, Bethany hadn’t helped her to get rid of the babies. Now
that she was so far along, she had to protect them with her life. Moreover, she had given up the chance
to do her master’s abroad for her babies’ sake. Wouldn’t all her efforts go to waste if things were to go
wrong now?
“Alright. You just need to get some rest and sweat it out tomorrow.” Dr. Doyle said, “I’ll prescribe you
something to take for the next two days.” After that, he sat down at Clarissa’s desk and started writing
the prescription.
He handed it to Clarissa, then bade farewell to Damien and left.
When Clarissa saw that Damien was still preparing the medicine, she secretly took a photo of Dr.
Doyle’s prescription.
About half an hour later, Damien came in with a bowl of medicine. He handed it to her. Clarissa
suddenly became very nervous and stared at the medicine. She gulped. Then, she glanced warily at
Damien.
“What are you so scared of?” he asked.
