Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 233
Chapter 233 Come Here!
After some thought, Clarissa called Damien.
She was using her old number.
When Damien saw her calling, his imagination started to run wild.
Finally, she had come to him.
“President Lawrence, are you free?” she said expressionlessly. “You’re back?” Damien said
sarcastically, “Why, I didn’t even know.”
“I’ve been back for some time now, and I’ve started a firm with someone to feed myself. Yet, you’ve
taken away all the projects that I’ve had my eye on, President Lawrence. I’m this close to starving, so I
want to ask you to at least give me a chance,” Clarissa said.
She knew Damien was fully aware of her situation. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be coming after her so
pointedly.
“What’s the name of your firm?” Damien asked., “Oh, First. It’s just a small firm and not worth your
time.” Clarissa only knew a little about the meaning behind the name.
Joseph thought she knew, but she hadn’t even read his messages.
Damien gritted his teeth. “I’m free.”
“Then, how about I treat you to a meal?” Clarissa gritted her teeth as well, but she forced herself to
laugh.
“A meal? Is that how you’ve been getting business?” Damien asked in return.Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
“What’s wrong? Are you unwilling?” Clarissa added cheekily, “I’m five months pregnant, and I’m inviting
you out for dinner. Don’t tell me you won’t even give me a chance. I’m about to starve, after all.”
“Where?” he asked.
“How about Elevate Lounge? Remember, it’s on me. When are you free?”
“After work.”
“I’ll book us a room, then.” She hung up right after that.
Ever since Clarissa had gotten pregnant, she felt like her stomach had been squeezed into the size of
a pea. She couldn’t bring herself to eat, so she just had some oats before taking a taxi to Elevate
Lounge.
On the way there, Madelynn called her. She had panicked the moment Clarissa came back
“Can we meet up to talk?” Madelynn asked.
“It’s not too convenient for me now,” Clarissa answered.
“Not convenient? Clarissa, you’re already pregnant, and I’m guessing it’s Joseph’s. Why are
you still getting tangled up with Damien? Stop stringing him along now that you two are already
divorced. Don’t tell me you’re thinking of making up with him! Who would want to get back together with
you when you’re pregnant with another man’s child?” Madelynn’s tone was nasty
“How’d you know that I’m getting tangled up with him?” Clarissa asked “It’s nothing new. When you
called him, I was right next to him, in bed,” Madelynn said sharply, emphasizing the words “in bed”.
“Well, I suppose I should congratulate you for finally sleeping with President Lawrence. Since we’re
already divorced, what’s there for you to be worried about? I’m just going to talk about work with him,
and I’ll leave immediately after.” Clarissa hung up.
Her face fell afterwards.
She really, really detested Madelynn. When Clarissa arrived at Elevate Lounge, Damien was already
there. He was smoking a cigarette, and he looked at her through the smoke.
Then, he put it out.
A song was being played in the private room, and it sounded rather melancholic. This was Damien’s
first time seeing Clarissa up close in a long time. This time, she was a lot fairer than she had been at
the hotel. She was back to how she’d originally looked
He couldn’t help glancing at her abdomen. It was bulging, but she didn’t look plump. She had the sort
of glow that only pregnant women had.
Damien couldn’t help getting a hard-on.
“You’re here?” he asked, sounding hoarse.
“Yeah. Didn’t you pick out a few ladies to accompany you? I’ll do it, then.” After that, she called the
manager on the room’s private line and also asked for some snacks.
Soon, the manager came in with a tray full of snacks. Behind him trailed a row of women dressed in
exposing clothes.
“Madam, please have your pick.” The manager referred to her as “Madam” when he saw that she was
pregnant.
“You pick, President Lawrence. They’re here to accompany you, not me,” Clarissa said with a laugh.
Damien could tell that she meant it, and she was being very earnest.
He glanced at the women and picked two of them. They sat down on either side of him and started
singing and drinking. Clarissa, on the other hand, nibbled at the snacks. She loved the prunes, and she
asked the manager to bring her some more when she had finished them.
Since she was here to talk business, she had to make sure her client was happy and sated. This way,
they would feel bad turning her down after she’d wined and dined them.
Damien didn’t participate in any of the activities. He sat there, looking steely the entire time.
He saw that Clarissa kept eating the prunes. After about an hour, the two women sitting with Damien
were dismissed. He and Clarissa were alone in the room again. “Come here,” he said to her. This jolted
Clarissa out of her fervor for the snacks.
