Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 222
Chapter 222 Mrs. Lawrence?
Joseph was only taking a refresher course at Korte University, so he didn’t have as many classes as
Clarissa did. Her nose was basically buried in a book the whole day
He would occasionally come to see her, but she rarely had any free time, she spent almost all her time
in the library
Clarissa’s time abroad flew by.
Damien had sent her a Whatsapp message once.
Why didn’t you go to Rale University?)
She didn’t reply to him.
She had gotten a tan and lost weight after coming to Emmeria, She cut her hair short in a chic,
fashionable style
Four months passed in the blink of an eye. In October, Clarissa went back to Merania for her exam.
She wanted the whole trip to remain a secret.
Before leaving Emmeria, Joseph put a bracelet with a diamond pendant on her wrist. She laughed.
“Shouldn’t you be giving me a lucky charm? Why a diamond pendant?”
It was a pretty big diamond, too. It didn’t look cheap.
“What do you know? This diamond is in the shape of a four-leaf clover, isn’t it? Look, if you don’t get
your certificate, how are you going to make money for my firm?” Joseph said. “Man, you’re really
superstitious,” Clarissa said.
“Where are you going to stay when you reach there?” He looked worried. “Are you going to stay with
him?”
“Of course not. I’m going to stay at a hotel. Luke might be at my mom’s apartment, and I don’t want to
go back there anyway.” She didn’t want to see Luke, or more specifically, Emily.
Her intuition told her that Emily played an important role in Theresa’s death, but now that Theresa
wasn’t around anymore, Emily was the only person who truly knew what had happened.
“Alright, then. Text me the moment you land, and let me know when you’re back here.”
Clarissa nodded.
Before boarding, she sent Lily a WhatsApp message. Clarissa: (I’m flying back to Meranian for my
exam, so don’t forget to treat me to something good. I want to eat something expensive and delicious,
and I really miss the food back home. Also, make sure not to tell Damien that I’m going back.) Lily: (Do
you think you can hide this from him? Just so you know, he and Madelynn have been very close these
past few months.)
This didn’t surprise Clarissa at all. Madelynn probably prayed that Clarissa would die in
Emmeria.
Madelynn and Damien were originally a couple, anyway.
In fact, it would be for the best if the two of them got together.
Clarissa: (I didn’t even go to the university that he chose for me. Why wouldn’t I be able to hide this
from him? Does he have a radar or something?]
Lily: (Whatever it is, I don’t think you’ll be able to keep this from him. Anyway, I’m ready to take you out
for something delicious.) Clarissa: (It has to be expensive, okay? It’d be a waste not to spend your
money.) Lily: (Alright, alright.) Lily was glad to see Clarissa squabbling with her. She didn’t seem as sad
as before.
Clarissa booked herself a hotel near where her exam was being held. She spent the whole day in the
hotel revising.
She only snuck out of the hotel when it was time for dinner with Lily. Hailing a taxi, she headed to Saga,
the restaurant that Lily had booked. The name itself made the place sound high-end.
Lily and Landon were already waiting for her in a private room. “Wow, you’ve changed a lot. You look
really chic now, and a lot more stylish,” Lily said.” How’s life abroad?”
“Don’t get me started. All I do is study.” Clarissa greeted them both.
Lily had already ordered, and Clarissa couldn’t even tell what the dishes were based on their names
alone.
For instance, there was a dish called “Golden Links”, where two ingredients were fried till they were
golden brown and mixed together. It was delicious, and Clarissa had a lot of it.
However, just as she put her cutlery down to talk to Lily, her stomach suddenly started churning. She
wanted to puke.
“What’s this dish?” she asked, her face pale. “Golden Links? Fried yam and egg yolks. I bet you
couldn’t even tell what was in it. Egg yolks …” Lily suddenly remembered that Clarissa was allergic to
egg yolk. “Clarissa, are you okay? Oh, no! It’s all my fault!” “It’s fine.” After that, Clarissa went to the
washroom and vomited her guts out.
She looked terrible.
When she was done vomiting, she grabbed a tissue to wipe her mouth. Suddenly, a familiar face
appeared in the mirror. He stared at her. “Mrs. Lawrence?” he said happily. He was rather surprised to
see how much Clarissa had changed.Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
