Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 201

Chapter 201 Sick?

Later that night, Damien teased Clarissa,

“You’ve got a cold.” Clarissa pushed him reflexively.

“Am I considered sick?” he asked in reply. He didn’t show any major symptoms of a cold, with the

exception of his muffled voice.

“I don’t want you to feel tired,” Clarissa said. “Isn’t this tiring?”

“I don’t find it tiring.”

As they were talking, a noise came from downstairs. A man was muttering loudly, and Clarissa could

vaguely hear the words Gel or Zell in the background.

Damien’s movements stopped. Frowning, he said, “I’ll go and check.” Having said that, he went

downstairs.

Clarissa breathed out a sigh of relief and lay in bed. She wanted to fall asleep before Damien returned

to save herself from his advances. Soon, she heard the sound of someone getting chided downstairs.

The noise made Clarissa shiver.

It sounded as if Damien was reprimanding his father.

Clarissa had never seen such a strange relationship between father and son. The father kept quiet and

said nothing as the son scolded him.

“You left without looking back! What are you trying to do now? Are you back to scare

us?”

“Don’t let me hear your stupid noises again!”

The noises alerted Grandpa Lawrence as well. Damien had a few words with him downstairs.

Clarissa was frightened. When Damien came up, he leaned over the headrest on the bed and lit a

cigarette out of annoyance.

Clarissa tugged him cautiously.

“Be a good girl. Go to sleep first.” He stroked Clarissa’s head.

“Dad… What’s wrong with Dad?” Clarissa asked Damien with dewy, frightened eyes.

“He has a serious mental illness. Seeing someone who was there during the scandal before would

trigger it again.” Damien took a deep puff of his cigarette. “Well, he just met Frank and his son today.”

“Did he go through treatment when he was abroad?” Clarissa asked. “Yes. He’s fine and recovered.

He’s been teaching there.”

Clarissa thought about it only for a while before dozing off. However, she didn’t sleep well that night.

When she woke up the next day, she saw that Damien was still sleeping. She wondered what time he

slept yesterday.

Clarissa touched his forehead. It was blazing hot.

“You have a fever.” Clarissa pushed and nudged Damien.

Maybe it was from the rain last night. Plus, Damien was already having a cold. It was

cold at night too, because the heat at home was turned off. He didn’t wear any thick clothes when he

went downstairs last night.

Clarissa hurriedly got up and went downstairs to get Damien some medicine.

At the same time, Mrs. Faber called Clarissa to come to the kitchen.

In the kitchen, Vanessa said to Clarissa with a low voice, “Clary, Damien might have a cold so I made

him an herbal infusion. I’m afraid he won’t drink it if I bring it to him. Will you bring it to him for me?”

Clarissa was stunned for a moment before responding with a yes. People said parents were the kindest

people in the world. They would selflessly sacrifice themselves for their children, regardless of their

children’s attitude.

Clarissa looked at Vanessa’s eager eyes and pondered about Theresa. When Clarissa looked at

Vanessa again, her heart softened. Vanessa must’ve noticed that Damien had a cold last night, which

was why she made him a herbal infusion.

Clarissa wondered how long Vanessa had spent on the herbal infusion. Clarissa suddenly recalled

Theresa. Well, speak of the devil. As soon as Clarissa finished talking with Vanessa, Theresa called.

“Mom.” Clarissa exited the kitchen and walked to the living room. “What’s wrong?”

“Clary, are you free to talk now?” Theresa sounded a little troubled. “Sure, go ahead.” “If you’re free Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.

tonight, come home. I need to talk to you.”

Clarissa said, “Okay. I’m usually free after work, anyway.”

She wanted to make dumplings for Damien, but that wasn’t a big deal. She could make them for him

later.

After she hung up, she went back to the kitchen. “Mom, I’ll bring it up to Damien later. Earlier, his

forehead was a little hot,” Clarissa told Vanessa. “It’s okay. I added fever medicine inside the infusion.

He had a cold last night, but he

still went downstairs even when it was so cold,” Vanessa said, sounding like she was in slight pain.

“Early spring is so cold, too,” Vanessa added, her voice rather teary. She sounded so heartbroken,

Clarissa wanted to cry as well.

“I’ll definitely bring it to him.” After Clarissa said that, she went upstairs with a steaming bowl of herbal

infusion.
