Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 197
Chapter 197 Not Up to Me?
Clarissa went home, doubts clouding her mind,
Damien was reading a book on the couch as usual. He hardly had any other social engagements
“You’re back?” he asked Clarissa the moment she returned.
“Yeah.”
“I had someone send over some flyers. Take a look,” he said to Clarissa
Clarissa was confused, and didn’t know what the flyer was about. When she browsed it, she realized
they were marketing materials for pregnancy and babies, pregnancy checkups, postpartum care
centers, babies’ first-month-old photo, and others.
Clarissa sucked in a deep breath of cold air. Damien had everything ready
“Which hospital do you want to go to in the future?” he asked, sounding as if Clarissa had already
agreed to have his baby.
“W-What do you mean?” she stammered.
Damien shifted his gaze from the book to Clarissa. “Didn’t you want a baby?”
“When did I ever say that?” Clarissa panicked, so much that she raised her voice. “I don’t want to have This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
a baby yet! I haven’t even passed my financial management costs exam. How can I have a baby? I
want to focus on my career!”
“Oh? Did I misunderstand?” Damien said.
“Yes! Very much so!” Clarissa argued anxiously. Then, she went to the bedroom and changed
Clarissa felt that Damien was in too much of a hurry. His simple act of bringing the flyers to her was a
test.
When Damien got into bed that night, he kept rubbing his face against Clarissa’s. The way his scent
surged with hormones made Clarissa’s heart skip a beat.
Clarissa wondered if she should tell him that his parents were coming back. After all, Damien didn’t like
his parents. Something awkward might happen if they came back without him knowing.
“Stop paying too much attention to him, or you’ll piss me off. I might do something that’ll make you
regret it,” Damien whispered in her ear as he rubbed Clarissa’s neck.
“With who?”
“Who do you think?” Damien nibbled on her neck.
Clarissa then understood, Damien was referring to Joseph. All she remembered was that she and
Joseph exchanged a glance when Nicole said, “Keep your chastity.” But how did Damien know? Why
did he seem to know everything?
Damien suddenly picked up Clarissa and laid her flat on the bed.
“What are you doing?” Clarissa demanded, puzzled. She didn’t see him putting on a condom, and was
immediately frightened.
“Y-You!”
Clarissa shuddered in shock. “No! We’re in marriage by agreement with a set divorce date. If I have
your child, that’ll be a different price!”
“A marriage by agreement?” Damien snickered. “Not anymore!”
“But I don’t want to have your children.”
“Like I said, this isn’t up to you,” Damien said, wanting to get down to business.
“It’s not up to you, either!” Clarissa barked.
“It’s not up to me?” Damien’s tone sounded like he was making fun of Clarissa. He teased her, “Not up
to your baby’s dad?”
“Hey, I didn’t mean… Please wait! Wait until I get my CPA license, okay?” Clarissa pleaded. She knew
she was weaker in bed. If she sounded too stubborn or harsh, it might provoke Damien and push him
over the edge. If that happened, there would be no room for negotiation
“I’m not going to let you negotiate,” Damien said stubbornly.
Clarissa panicked and blurted out, “Your parents are coming back. Are you aware of that?”
As expected, Damien stopped in his tracks.
“When?”
“In a few days.”
Damien got off Clarissa and lay down on the side of the bed.
The next morning, Clarissa woke up earlier than him for the first time ever. She wondered when he fell
asleep last night.
When Damien came downstairs with his cuffs rolled up, Clarissa was already eating downstairs.
“Don’be too happy. We still have more time ahead,” he said, staring at Clarissa
Clarissa immediately controlled her expression. “How am I too happy?”
Clarissa listened to his tone, and sensed that he might have caught a cold. Perhaps it was because he
didn’t cover the blanket when he was lost in thought
Clarissa ate in silence, hoping he wouldn’t go berserk.
