Love In Twilight By Tiny Mountains Chapter 184

Chapter 184 Entranced by the Scent of Alcohol on Him

It was already spring, and the days were getting longer.

The sky had yet to darken at five in the evening.

Thanks to Damien, Clarissa had to endure an additional hour of tutoring after work.

After work, she went to his office as per his instructions.

This time, she wanted to pay attention and see whether he actually read her journal.

She had deliberately slipped a strand of hair among the pages for this day‘s entry. If he read the

journal, the hair would fall out or at least be in a different position. Then, she would be able to tell.

Her tutoring started after she handed in her journal.

Damien was right. Ray was a great teacher, managing to explain difficult concepts in a simple manner. Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.

However, financial and cost management was relatively simple to her.

That was why she kept losing focus. Every time she sat up straight, she would sneak a peek at Damien

to see what he was up to.

He was busy with his work. Now and then, his secretary would ask him to sign documents.

Clarissa‘s journal remained untouched on his desk.

It was only when she once again straightened up to glance at Damien that Ray followed her line of

sight.

“He‘s been busy with work and hasn‘t been cheating on you. Why do you keep looking at him?”

Clarissa was lost for words.

She was extremely embarrassed to have gotten caught by Ray.

Damien shot her a look. “If you don‘t pay attention, the tutoring will go on longer.”

Defeated, Clarissa had no choice but to focus her attention on her studies.

Damien‘s phone rang and he quickly answered it. “Peterson? Where? Hatton Hotel? Okay.”

He stood up, getting ready to leave.

Clarissa found the surname “Peterson to be very familiar, but she couldn‘t recall where

she had read or heard it. After all, there were plenty of entrepreneurs with that surname.

Because Damien had said that her tutoring would go on for longer if she didn‘t pay attention, she kept

her eyes on her book. She didn‘t dare to look at him at all.

“Aren‘t you going to ask me to stay?” Damien asked,

Ray stopped talking.

Clarissa only looked up when she was sure that Damien was talking to her.

“Where are you going?” Her gaze was tentative, as if she wanted to ask more but didn‘t dare to. Her

eyes were bright, though.

“I have a function on, and I might be home late tonight.”

“Oh. Come back earlier, then.” She smiled.

This was his first time attending a function in a long time

“Alright, you can head home now. I‘ll ask the chauffeur to send you back.” Damien pulled his phone out,

ready to call the chauffeur.

“There‘s still another half hour to go,” Clarissa said.

“That‘s enough for today.”

Ray curled his lip. ‘You‘re just worried that something will happen between the two of us if we were left

here alone!‘

Ray tutted disapprovingly.

“Your husband‘s a control freak. You need to get used to it,” he said to Clarissa.

“Mind your own business!” Damien snapped, obviously unhappy about the quip.

“Oh.” Clarissa packed her things and glanced at her journal again. It was untouched.

They were just about to leave when Theresa called her.

“Clary, are you busy tonight? If not, come home. I cooked you something. Bring Damien along,” she

said.

“Mom, he has a function to attend, and he‘ll be back late. I‘ll go on my own,” Clarissa said cheerily.

The reason why she was so happy was because she didn‘t have to spend the night alone. The

bottomless emptiness she had felt when sleeping alone in such a huge room wasn‘t something that she

wanted to experience again.

Damien saw how happy she looked.

“You‘re that happy to go to your mother‘s house?”

“Uh, of course not.” She lowered her head. “Take care and don‘t drink too much.”

She suddenly recalled how sexy he had been on the night of his birthday. He had been tipsy, and her

heart had raced at the way he‘d looked.

“I‘m driving, so I can‘t drink”

“Huh? Oh, right.” Clarissa was disappointed.

“What‘s with that look? Do you want me to drink myself to death?” Damien frowned at her.

“No.”

She only wanted him to have a bit to drink so that the scent of alcohol would be on him. She was

entranced by it, and found the smell attractive on him.
