Love at the Door

Chapter 94

Chapter 94

Andrew got out of bed and went to the bathroom to wash his face with some cold water to cool it down, making his complexion appear more normal. Once that was done, he headed to the stairs with Melina.

They’d just arrived at the top of the stairs when Melina realized she had forgotten to tell Andrew that Linda was there. That being said, it wasn’t important right now. All she cared about was the fact that he had a fever running.

Linda watched as Andrew and Melina came down together. Judging from Andrew’s slightly drowsy–looking state, it was clear he’d been woken up from his sleep.

But how could it be that he didn’t injure Melina in the process? All of the Wentworths noticed that, and they were all in disbelief. Could it be that his temper had improved in the last two years?

Wallace was the only one who truly knew that something about Andew had changed.

As for Melina, she couldn’t be bothered to think about these things. Doing her best to quell her anxiety, she forced herself to stay calm as she said to Wallace, “Mr. Henderson Senior, I–I have something important to do, so I need to step out for a

while.”

Puzzled, Wallace replied, “Whatever it is, you can wait until you’ve had dinner first.”

Melina shook her head. “It’s extremely important, so I’ll go now instead of waiting till after dinner. Andrew’s coming with me.”

Hearing that, Wallace glanced over at Andrew, and when he saw no sign of protest from Andrew, a smile bloomed across his face. When had Andrew ever agreed to accompany someone on an errand?

Thus, he said agreeably, “Alright then. Stay safe, Lina. If you need any help, just let me know.”

Melina nodded. She took Andrew’s hand and was just about to leave when Linda stopped her.

“Melina, are you trying to make things difficult for me on purpose? You know very well that I need to talk to Andrew, and yet you’re trying to take him away.”

“I’m not. There’s really something I need to do right now,” Melina explained.

“Whatever it is, you can do it alone. I need to see Andrew.”

“I know. You want to have a gathering at Oakread, right? I’ll give you the keys to the

place. You can do whatever you want.”

Melina passed Linda the keys she’d forgotten to return to Andrew, but that seemed to piss Linda off even further. She grabbed Melina’s sleeve and snarled, “Who do you think you are, Melina? What gives you the right to make decisions on Andrew’s behalf?

Oakread belonged to Andrew. No one else was even allowed to stay the night, so what gave Melina the right to hand over the keys just like that?

Linda wondered if this was Melina’s way of taunting her.

Meanwhile, Melina was irritated. Linda said she wanted to talk to Andrew so that she could hold a gathering at Oakread. Well, she had the keys now, so what more did she want?

She thought that something was wrong with Linda. Whenever something came up, instead of going to Andrew, Linda would pick on her instead. Either way, she was thoroughly annoyed this time, and she didn’t have the time to mince words with Linda. Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

Shoving Linda’s hand off, she said sternly, “Linda, I only tolerate your behavior because of your medical condition. It doesn’t mean I’m scared of you. If you continue to try and stop me, I’ll beat you up! Don’t believe me? You can try me!”

“As if you’d dare, you shameless sidepiece! I’ve been by Andrew’s side for five years. now! Did you know that, huh?”

Melina was still clutching Andrew with one hand, and she could sense how hot he was. That made her even more short–tempered.

“That’s enough! What’s wrong with you, Linda? Who are you calling a sidepiece, huh? I’m Andrew’s lawfully wedded wife. I don’t care what he thinks or who he has feelings. for. Right now, he’s mine!”

Everyone was thunderstruck. Even Andrew, who’d remained silent the whole time, glanced down to eye the fuming Melina.

Was he hers?

His fingers twitched ever so slightly.

Linda was in utter disbelief. She stared dazedly at everyone else before turning to Andrew. Her tears started streaming uncontrollably as she cried out, “That’s a lie, right, Andrew? She’s just lying to me, right? Well, this joke isn’t funny at all! Why Would you marry someone else?”

Andrew sensed Melain’s hand tightening around him. He looked at Linda and said

coolly, “It’s true.”
