Chapter 12 The Secret
Serena was hiding, she knew she was hiding and being a coward but she did not care one bit. She covered herself with the blanket and sweating profusely under it swore never to take alcohol in her life ever again.
She wondered when Damon would leave and when she could finally come out from the cocoon she had so tightly wrapped herself in.
The memories of the previous night still fresh in her mind, she swore again clasping her eyes shut and shaking her head as if to ward off evil.
She had practically offered herself on a platter to him to do as he pleased even when she knew she would never be half of what he wanted.
“Dammit” she swore again
“Are you alright?” Damon asked her this time around. He could see that she was underneath the blankets with her head covered and wondered if she had fallen sick but when she had sworn out loud he knew there was something wrong with her.
“I am fine” Serena ground out not bothering to come out from her hiding place.
“Are you sick? Why do you have yourself all covered up like that.” He asked again.
Serena wished he would just go away and leave her be with her shame and embarrassment, what was he doing here anyway, did he not have work to do in his office or another girl to bother?
“Just go away” she moaned which perked up Damon’s concern.
He went around to where she was and drew the blankets away from her face to reveal a startled green eyed Serena.
“What are you doing?” She asked him trying to get back the part of the blanket he was holding away from her face.
“You are sweating profusely, are you sure everything is okay?” He asked.
“I am fine… I am just mortally embarrassed at what I did yesterday and before you begin to ask me questions, yes I remember and I am sorry if I put you in an extremely tough spot.” Serena said feeling mortified
“Tough spot? Surprisingly I love you drunk wife.”
Serena’s eyes flew up to his face in alarm, he was smiling
“If you say you remember everything, do you remember what you promised to remind me today.”
“Listen Damon, I was drunk. You cannot possibly take my words seriously, I never meant anything by it and I do not want you to misunderstand.”
Damon was gob smacked by her words, he had been anticipating everything and from not remembering to saying it was all a joke?
Serena could see that she had rendered him speechless but instead of feeling victorious that she could have that sort of effect on the most dangerous man in the planet, she felt a pang of pity, this was not how she wanted to win over him and she hardly felt victorious about this. She got up and stood in front of him twirling her fingers while he looked at her with unreadable, hooded eyes.
He sighed and walked away with Serena staring at his back
“I really am sorry Damon.” She called out after him.
Serena wondered if she had done the right thing by calling after him because in that moment he stopped and whirled around, his eyes blazing.
“Do not fucking apologize, Serena.” He ground out and began walking towards her in determined strides.
Serena took a step back and then two steps till her back was against the wall and he was towering over her with murderous eyes, she could feel the whimper at the back of her throat but swallowed it immediately, she was not going to show him fear but she knew her eyes were sending waves of pleas his direction.Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
“Do not be scared of me, I would never hurt you, Serena.” His words washed over her and a thrill shot to her spine as soon as his hand connected with the back of her neck.
She knew he was going to kiss her, she wanted him to kiss her so bad but there was hesitation in his eyes and Serena knew that if she did not meet him halfway, he was going to back out and she would be lost so Serena threw all caution to the wind, rose on her toes and touched her lips to his and in that second she knew that she would never feel anything remotely close to what she felt with any other person. He was her soulmate and she was going to make sure he realized that.
Serena became transformed, she took and gave, she opened up and sought entrance and when their body merged, her soul took flight and her head felt light. It took forever for them to regain themselves with both of them breathing heavily.
He ontop of her and her legs wrapped tightly around his, one kiss had gave way to feelings she never knew existed.
“I want to take you right now, Serena. I need you.” Damon said in a strangled voice.
“What are you waiting for?” Serena repeated the same question she had asked him the previous night.
“I need your written consent and I want you to know that I do not love the way others do.”
“You have my consent.” Serena said dreamily
“No… you have to sign an NDA and a written contract stating that you were not forced into anything with me.”
Serena focused on his very serious face
“Why?”
“I have to show you something.” He said again
“Show me then”
“Promise you won’t freak out and if you find it entirely dissatisfactory, you are allowed to refuse and we would never speak of this ever again.”
“I understand all of that, what do you want to show me.”
“It is downstairs.” Damon said getting you from on top her and putting a hand out.
Serena grabbed his hand and followed him downstairs and into the garden, she wondered what it was he wanted to show her and why they were headed outside.
They came upon a wooden door and he turned to her
“Ready?” He asked
Serena nodded and Damon opened the door.
Serena did not at first understand what it was she was seeing, it was a very beautiful and very dark room. Understanding dawned on her in a second and her eyes widened in shock, she turned and saw him watching her, a dangerous smirk on his lips and suddenly Serena understood.
