Chapter 829 Sally Is Back (Part One)
Chapter 829 Sally Is Back (Part One)
"No, Lawrence," Rebecca didn't let Lawrence go and she directly walked ahead and held his clothes.
Lawrence was helpless. He looked ahead as he felt terrible. In the past, he had always been thinking
about this woman. But now when she was in front of him, he didn't even want to be with her. Instead,
he remembered all the things she had done to him in the past. She lied to him and indirectly hurt Violet.
Everything was still clear in his mind.
Rebecca couldn't calm herself down. Her hand that was still holding Lawrence's clothes was shaking.
She said, "Lawrence, listen to me. For so many years, all I have done is wait for you. I'm always waiting
for you."
"Is that so? Why did you wait for me?" Lawrence asked coldly. "You want to use the JC Group to
become more famous?" Lawrence asked again. "Or you want to be my wife?"
Rebecca froze instantly as she heard Lawrence's last question. Yes, Lawrence guessed it right. She
had been dreaming of becoming his wife. She was dying to marry him. Lawrence was a brilliant and a
powerful man and no woman wouldn't want to be his wife. Since she was beautiful and famous, she
thought that if she'd marry Lawrence, people wouldn't judge her of having any ulterior motives. She
believed that since she was a famous star, she could be Lawrence's match.
Ivy who was standing behind Lawrence was totally stunned to see such a scene. She was shocked to
know that the man Rebecca loved since middle school was Lawrence. Moreover, she had never
thought that the man Rebecca liked so much was from a rich and distinguished family. And Lawrence
was indeed a successful guy. No wonder Rebecca was really dying to marry him.
"Lawrence, I really like you. I have loved you since we were in middle school. I couldn't forget those
days when you picked me up everyday and we went to school together. Those days were really..."
Before Rebecca could finish, Lawrence interrupted her with a harsh word, "Liar!"
Then he shook her hand off and turned around to face Ivy.
Lawrence reached out his hand to seize Ivy's arm. Then he pulled her close and held her into his arms.
Then he said to Rebecca, "Rebecca, let me just tell you that I still have the same preference when it
comes to women. I still like poor girls, like this Ivy Li." Lawrence was actually serious.
Ivy was taken aback by the suddenness of events. She was puzzled by Lawrence's actions and words.
Then she suddenly remembered his last statement. 'Poor girl? Is he insulting me?' she thought to
herself.
Rebecca stared at Ivy in Lawrence's arms. She couldn't believe her eyes. She was astonished to see
how close they were to each other in front of her. She didn't even get a chance to approach Lawrence
and yet, Ivy got the opportunity to be with him.
Rebecca got furious and yelled, "Ivy!"
Ivy wanted to free herself from Lawrence's arms and explain to Rebecca but Lawrence didn't let her go.
And no matter how hard she tried, she just couldn't pull herself away from Lawrence.
Despite being still in Lawrence's arms, she tried to explain, "Rebecca, my sister, please listen to me.
No, it's not what you think it is."
Rebecca looked sad and said, "Enough. Don't Rebecca me. We are not that close." Then she turned to
Lawrence and fondly said, "Lawrence, you're not a child anymore. Why do you like this kind of
women?"
"Is your opinion really my concern? Is my taste for women your concern?" Lawrence questioned. He
felt that Rebecca had no right to say anything about his personal affairs.
Rebecca didn't know what to say for a moment so she just suddenly pulled Ivy away from Lawrence's
arms.
When Ivy had just regained her balance, Rebecca slapped her face.
What she did surprised everyone including Lawrence. Lawrence didn't expect that Rebecca would slap
Ivy right in front of him.
Ivy covered her red face with her hand. She just stared at Rebecca and couldn't say anything. She
spent most of her time helping Rebecca to take care of her mother while she was busy with games and
parties. And now, Rebecca slapped her without showing any mercy at all.
People around heard the sound of the slap so they all looked at their direction. When they saw Ivy
covering her face, they all knew that it was her who was slapped.
Ivy's tears fell down freely. She gave Rebecca a hurtful look before she turned around and ran away.
Lawrence glared at Rebecca. He could tell that after so many years, she had never changed at all. She
even became more vicious.
At this moment, Mike walked quickly to them. When he saw that Lawrence and Rebecca were throwing
furious glares at each other, he couldn't guess what really happened.
So he asked, "What's going on here?" Instead of answering Mike's question, Lawrence ordered, "Tell
our film and television company to cancel the contract with Miss Rebecca. She is no longer connected
to the JC Group."
He actually didn't have any idea on how Rebecca became one of the JC Group's actresses but he just
decided to terminate their contract now.
Mike was surprised. He was only able to say, "Lawrence." Then he gave Rebecca a questioning look,
wanting to know the reason why Lawrence was so angry.
But Rebecca didn't mind him and just faced Lawrence. She said, "Do you want to ban me?" Her eyes
widened. She stared at Lawrence and still couldn't believe what he had said just now.
However, Lawrence just ignored her question and looked at Mike.
Mike immediately understood so he said, "Okay, I got it. I'll tell them now."
Then he turned around and left without saying anything more.
Lawrence also followed him and left.
Rebecca shouted, "Lawrence, Lawrence." But her calling was in vain because Lawrence didn't even
stop walking.
In the break room, Lawrence was sitting in the sofa while Ivy was standing not far away from him.
There were no tears on her face anymore but her cheek were swollen.
Lawrence asked, "Are you okay?" Since Ivy had already calmed down, she replied, "Yes, I'm fine.
Rebecca is like my sister so I believe that she didn't really mean to slap me. I think she was just too
angry to control herself."Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.
