Chapter 170 Pains In The Night

Chapter 170 Pains In The Night

Without any sort of hesitation, Jackson said, "I always want to protect her!"

Sally's heart instantly filled with frustration. She wanted Jackson to love her, but it seemed that her wish

was only a dream.

Sally then suddenly shouted at Jackson, "What about me? Why did you have to harbor me and protect

me if you don't love me? Tell me!"

Jackson looked at Sally and then loosened his grip on her neck. He knew she was broken down, but he

didn't immediately reply to her question. Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

After some time, Jackson coldly said, "If you ever dare to contact Cherry again in the future, it won't

end well for you. Mark my words!"

Jackson then intended to leave. When Derek saw Jackson, he also stood up from his seat and left

together with him.

When Sally saw Jackson leaving, she immediately said, "Even if I didn't tell her anything, there

would've been others to do that for me! Are you sure that Stephen won't tell her everything?"

Her threat successfully stopped Jackson in his tracks.

Sally was somehow happy that her words worked on him.

Jackson didn't say anything, but Derek furiously said, "If Stephen An dares to say anything, then it

won't end well for him either."

However, Sally didn't care what Derek said, and she walked towards Jackson. She stood beside him,

and as she looked at him, she said, "You know more about Stephen An and Cherry Shen's relation

than I do. You know their bond is special."

The last sentence actually affected Jackson, and he felt that the relation between Stephen and Cherry

threatened him. He recalled two things: that Stephen had offended him by risking his life to help Cherry

run away from him, and that Cherry would have actually begged on her knees in front of him to save

Stephen's Anshi Group. Both Stephen and Cherry were special to each other, that was clear to him.

When Sally noticed that Jackson didn't utter a word, she grabbed his hand, and gently said, "Jackson,

you know that Stephen and you are mortal enemies. If I'm at your side I can help you, and I won't let

Stephen hurt you."

Jackson then shook off Sally's hand. He stared into her eyes, and said, "Cherry is and will always be

my only lover in this world. There's no other person, never forget that!"

He then paused a second, and said, "As for Stephen, it's inevitable that he and I have to settle our old

scores. I won't run away if he attacks me, that's for sure."

Jackson then continued to walk towards the door.

Derek glanced at Sally with fury in his eyes and then followed Jackson.

While he was sitting in the car, Jackson let out a heavy sigh.

Derek sat beside him, and asked, "Jackson, how about making Sally He leave the city forever?"

Jackson pondered Derek's advice for a while and then shook his head. He said, "I don't want her to

leave the city."

Derek asked, "Are you still worried about her? Didn't you choose Cherry already? Why are you and

Sally still intertwined somehow with one another?" Derek thought that Sally was undermining Jackson

and Cherry's marriage, and that if he had been in Cherry's shoes, he would have already driven Sally

away.

Jackson turned his head sideways and looked out through the window. He replied to Derek's question,

"No, I don't love Sally, but I'm afraid that she might get hurt. "

Derek hated Sally very much, and said, "Is it your business to keep her safe? By the way, who or what

can hurt her since she's such a cunning woman?"

Jackson didn't answer Derek anymore, because in some way he was also vexed by those things, and

because he had no idea on how to properly deal with them.

Derek realized that Jackson was distraught, and stopped asking him any more questions.

Cherry then went back home and found that Joe was still at school. Elsa was the only person that was

at home.

Cherry sat in the parlor and chatted with her for a short time, and afterwards she went to pick up Joe

from school.

After Joe walked out of the school and saw his Mommy, he cheerfully ran towards her.

Joe had already missed Cherry very much and hugged her as tight as his little hands could. "Mommy,

Mommy, why did you come back so early?" asked Joe.

Cherry happily replied, "I came home because I finished my work. What? Are you sad that I came back

earlier?"

Joe said, "No, no, I'm actually glad that you came back home faster! I've missed you so much that I

haven't slept well for the last couple of days."

Cherry happily stroked Joe's hair, and said, "I know, I know, baby, Mommy's also missed you! Let's go

home now, Elsa made us a lot of delicious foods."

"Great! I'm already starving, " said Joe while pouting. He looked very adorable when he did that.

They then got into the car and Cherry drove them home.

They arrived at home at the same time that Wilson did. He was also very happy to see Cherry back

home, and asked, "What happened? I didn't thought that you would return so soon."

Cherry didn't know how to explain it to Wilson, and just said, "Selina finished her work ahead of time,

and they also had to deal with some issues in the city, so we come back earlier than scheduled."

Wilson knew who "they" were, and simply nodded to show that he understood her.

In the evening, Cherry cradled Joe in the bed and told him stories, as they always did. Joe enjoyed the

time spent with his mother very much, and gradually fell asleep in Cherry's arms.

When Cherry looked at Joe sleeping, she couldn't help but cry. How could Cherry ever protect Joe, her

only son? How could Cherry keep Joe safe in the future?

Cherry then carefully turned off the bedside lamp and stared at the room's ceiling in the faint moonlight.

At the moment, all her painful feelings were released.

Cherry thought, 'Jackson, I love you so much that I can't express it in any way, but why are you still with

Sally? Why don't you want to tell me about your past? Is it because I'm not part of it? I'm your wife, the

one who'll live for the rest of your life with you. Do you really have to hide your past from me?

Jackson, do you know that I want you and Joe to meet each other? But I can't let that happen, because

I'm afraid that he might get hurt. I might be your most precious, but Joe is my most precious, and I can't

let others hurt him. Joe didn't grow up in a complete family because of me, and I owe him that. I really,

really can't put Joe in any danger, do you understand that, Jackson?'

When she recalled her past, Cherry's tears gradually started to fall down her cheeks and slowly soak

the pillow in them. She suddenly remembered Emily, who had died for her. Cherry shouted in her heart,

'Emily, please tell me, what should I do? What on Earth should I do?'

The next morning, Cherry got up early and went in the bathroom to wash her face and brush her teeth.

She then tried as hard as possible to get rid of her swollen eyes with the aid of cosmetics.

Cherry ate her breakfast with her head lowered, so that Wilson wouldn't see that her eyes were swollen

and red.

When it was time to take Joe to school, Cherry put Joe into Wilson's car as she usually did, but Wilson

grabbed her hand and stopped her to talk with him.

Wilson carefully asked, "Cherry, what's wrong? Why are your eyes so swollen?"

Cherry was afraid that Joe, who was sitting in the car, would find out about it. She said, "Nothing, don't

worry about me, I'm fine. Wilson, take Joe to school, he'll be late."

Wilson was concerned about her, and said, "Cherry, you know that you can tell me if anything's wrong,

right?"

She pretended to be strong, and as she looked at Wilson, she said, "I thought of Emily last night and I

couldn't stop crying. Don't worry, everything's fine now."

After Wilson heard her, he didn't want to talk more about Emily. Still concerned, he asked, "Are you

sure?"

"Really, I'm fine, don't worry, about me. Go now, Joe's going to be late!" said Cherry.

Wilson was still worried about her, but he had no other choice but to nod and leave.

After Wilson left, Cherry also got inside her car and drove to work.
