ELEIA’S POV

Waking up in a coat of sweat in the middle of the night is never fun, but when I look to my side , Aiden has his arm draped over Felix’s little body, holding him, both facing my way as they sleep . Soft snores come from Aiden and they only grow louder .

I just want to sleep through the night… for once.

“Aiden .” I whisper and he too jolts awake with wide eyes, sitting up and he turns to look at me.

” Why are you awake ?” he asks and I wet my lips , staring at him with worried eyes, “The Moon Goddess..” , “She spoke to you too ?” He asks and my eyes almost pop out of their sockets.

” Yes, did she tell you…”, “The Lycans are coming.” He frowns , worry takes over his expression and my heart sinks.

Lycans are powerful , they are stronger, faster, bigger and even Aiden would be intimidated.

Their aura’s are strong, or well that is what I heard.

I have never met one…

“What do we do ?” I keep my voice in a whisper , scared of waking Felix.

” We run Eleia , what can we do? We all just have to hide out, cover our scents until we know it’s safe to come home.” His voice is shaky and my heart feels like it might dent.

” We can’t just all run, our lives will fall apart if we just stop everything.” I frown, “Can’t we reason with them ? Can’t we go to the royals and ask for help ? We have a good story that will cover everything .” I try to argue, but it doesn’t look like he’s listening.

” No, I killed Regan even when he wasn’t attacking me . That’s against the law.” he frowns and I inhale a sharp breath.

I did not know it was illegal.. I don’t know much of the rules because I was kept as a slave without education, at least I can think and I’m smart without the knowledge learned to others.

” Your entire pack is behind you, we can lie and say that he did. We can say he threatened me because he did, we know he wanted to take Felix sometime and it was my kid, not his.” I reach for his hand , but he pulls away, tossing the duvet off him before standing.

” I know you don’t know it and it’s not your fault, but if Regan wanted to, he could have claimed you again because you are carrying his heir. He has more right to Felix than you ever will because he was the next Alpha to that f****d up pack .” his large hands rake through his hair, the veins popping out all over his forearms , his biceps flexing repeatedly.

” Well then we’ll lie and say he tried to attack me .” I shrug , “And you didn’t have a choice.”

” I don’t know… what if they put us under lying tests ?” he drags his hand down the side of his face, pacing in the dark.

I know I shouldn’t be admiring his rock hard arbs that the moonlight is shining on, but it’s right in front of me .

” What other option do we have ?”

” The witches..” Aiden mutters and I frown at him , “What ?” My chin tilts down as I stare at him as if he has gone crazy .

“The witches can protect us with a spell Eleia.” he stares at me dead in the eye.

I never seen a witch either , which makes it harder to believe they exist.

“Do we know a witch ? Do you know a witch ?” I clarify .

” Yeah , I do but she doesn’t do favors. She makes deals.” he frowns and the thought that she might want something in return makes my b***d run cold .

” Okay, we’ll hear her out.” I shrug and he nods before striding over to his bed and picking up his phone .

“What are you doing ?” I frown , “Calling her .” His thumb scrolls over the screen .

“It’s in the middle of the night .” I frown and he doesn’t say anything as he sits down , “Aiden .” I try to get his attention to reason with him. His head turns to the side, “This is important Eleia.” is all he says before looking straight at the bathroom door while the phone rings .

There’s no answer and his hand fists around his phone before he tosses it onto the bed and he marches over to his bathroom , grabbing bath salt that I guess is still salt and comes back out.

“What are you doing ?” I frown, “Summoning her.” he pours the salt in a triangle before standing in the middle.

” Selena Dubra , hear me, see me, appear before me.” he repeatedly chants and a light appears where he stands and as he takes one step back , an shadow appears before it turns to solid skin and bones .

“Aiden.” Her purple eyes pop open, she has pitch black hair with blue braids in.

“Selena , don’t be mad.” he kneels and the dark expression on her face fades as she smiles, “Only because you greet me with such respect .” she crosses her legs and she floats mid air , staring down at him.

I cover Felix with the blanket, staring at her without moving.

“Stand beast, what do you want ?” she sighs, rolling her eyes and her aura is cold, yet powerful.

“I need a protection spell for all of my people linked to me or the entire territory . Name your price.” he stands as he stares right at her.

Her crossed legs are against his chest and he holds his hand out for her to take .

“What is your threat ?” she sounds so old, so ancient .

” Lycans.” he breathes out , making her giggle , “Oh you do love to piss off the powerful.” her tone is teasing and I know she’s flirting as her hand drags across his chest.

“Shall one more night be alright ?” she breathes out and my eyes widen.

Did he sleep with her ?

“I have a mate now, unfortunately not .” he declines her offer with grace, but my hands are itching to rip her head off.

Her gaze flicks past him to me and her perfect dark red lips round.

“Oh , and a son.” the cold smile on her face makes my heart sink.

” I have an idea for payment .” she stands, her feet touching the ground for once.

“What is it ?” He asks politely and I can see that he is holding himself back.

“Marriage for my daughter, to the first born because I want her to be luna.” her eyes stay on Felix and my heart aches at the thought of him never being able to love his true mate.

“To Felix?” he asks calmly .

“Yes, to that one. My daughter is the same age.” she smiles , pointing with her long blue nails that glow at my son.

“Deal .” he breathes out, “What ?” I snap and as she tries to walk past the barrier, she can’t. Stunned , she looks down , “Oh, trust issues now ?” she asks as she stares at the side of Aiden’s face , inching closer.

“No , but I wanted your spirit, not your body.” he doesn’t turn to look at her and I can’t help but wonder if its because if he does , he would k**s her…

“Palm.” she holds out her palm as a paper appears and as he lifts his hand , she cuts his palm and drips his b***d on the paper before reading it.

“Felix will be the chosen mate for my daughter at the age of eighteen and she will be luna.” she beams, giggling cheerfully and my heart shatters with every passing second for my son.

“Goodnight, handsome.” she stands on her tippy toes before licking his cheek and he grimaces at her movement before she disappears.

His head drops when she’s gone.

“What the f**k ?” I bellow , standing up .

” Relax , I know what I’m doing .” he rolls his eyes at me.

“He’ll learn to love her. It’ll be fine.” he rakes his hand through his hair before getting into bed.

He casually lays down, making himself comfortable with his back turned to Felix and I.

I stare at him with narrowed eyes as hatred brews in my chest before I pick Felix up and stride to the door, “Where are you going ?” he asks loudly.

“Away from you.” I snarl before slamming the door behind me and I walk to Felix’s room , laying him down on his bed and I snuggle with him on the tiny cot.

I will not let this happen, even if I have to take my children and run.
