I Once Married You (Harper and Benjamin)

Chapter 273

Uneasiness

Frank's behavior towards Michelle today was like a thorn in Harper's heart.

She didn't believe Benjamin intentionally tarnished Frank's reputation, nor did she suspect Benjamin misled her to limit her interactions with Frank. Having pondered these possibilities, she struggled to find a reason to stop dwelling on Frank's intentions. She did not answer immediately. Benjamin's eyes darkened slightly, and his voice became deeper and deeper. "Harper, answer me, will you agree?"

"Yes," Harper whispered, quite aware that no matter what the reason was, it was natural that they should keep a distance.

She had been doing this ever since her marriage to Benjamin. She would not violate any of the rules of this marriage. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.

More importantly, Michelle had come to Mayby. Staying away from Frank was also for Harper's own sake.

Michelle was not released until the afternoon of the next day.

She was depressed. Frank took her into the car and drove directly back to his apartment.

Neither of them spoke during the whole journey. After returning to the apartment, Frank ordered, "Take a shower, and I'll cook."

His indifference made Michelle very uncomfortable, and the grievance she felt about staying at the police station for a whole night exploded.

"Frank, do you hate me? Is it that you no longer wish to see me? If that's the case, why did you consent to me joining you in Mayby? You could have refused and told our parents not to allow me to follow you. Why are you so cold to me now?" Michelle became excited again. Because of her health condition, Frank suppressed his impatience.

He frowned slightly and cast a glance at Michelle. "Michelle, I don't harbor that thought. If it were true, I wouldn't have asked Harper not to hold you accountable. Otherwise, do you think you could come out and lose your temper with me now? Harper's husband is Benjamin from the Martin family. He planned to put you in jail, so do you still believe that I don't want to see you?"

Michelle was silent.

She became moved.

She said in a low voice, "I'm sorry, Frank. It's all my fault. I didn't mean to do that. But with hatred of Harper, I don't want to see you with her."

"Okay. Take a shower and eat something. You need to get a good sleep now. We can talk about anything tomorrow, okay?"

Michelle, in tears, experienced a deep sense of uneasiness but couldn't pinpoint the source of it.

After the shower, she started to eat and drank the milk handed to her by Frank. In a few minutes, she grew sleepy.

Frank sent her back to her room to sleep. She grabbed Frank's hand and whispered, "Frank, can you promise me that you will never leave me?"

Frank had a serious face and didn't intend to answer. After she closed her eyes and fell asleep completely, he pulled his hand away and walked out of the room.

Standing on the balcony and smoking, Frank held his cell phone and made a call. "Let's meet at the coffee shop downstairs in the company tomorrow morning." The woman on the other end of the phone was surprised. "What happened?"

He asked, "Harper is pregnant. Are you really going to refrain from intervening with Benjamin?"

"Of course tam not, but what can

do if you are unwilling to do anything to Harper? What does it matter if we

The woman clearly probed and provoked Frank.
