Chapter 13.
The more his rounded eyes caught a glimpse of his virtuous figure, the more ridiculous he became, it soon got to a point where he could no longer control himself as tears formed on his eyes, his tears caused her to sob profusely.
Marco effort to persuading her to stay back was to no avail, he felt it was better for her to bid him goodbye while at home that for her to watch him disappear as the bus zoom him off at the station.
She insisted she would escort him to the station, he was particularly concerned about the need for her to get back home safely without hurting herself in anyway when the bus might have taken off.
At the station, they were not able to hold back their tears.
“Mum, you will have to wait for me to go and buy the ticket,” he said, still sniffling, he managed to wipe the tears from his eyes in order not to appear like an awkward oaf in the presence of the ticket attendant. Deep down in his heart, he was still crying.
When he eventually bought his ticket, he went back to the spot where his mother was standing, he wound his arms around her shoulder, bent down and whispered.
“Don’t cry anymore Mum, I’m not going forever, I will comeback to you in a little while, my reason for leaving is dictated by unforseen circumstances beyond our control, nevertheless, you have to understand that fact that there comes a time in a human’s life when one would have to wake up in order to leap for treasure, for what shall it profit me if i continue to abide here, looking up to you for my three square meal. A man like me!”
“Richard, there is nothing in this world that matters to me except you.” His mother said through her tears.
“I understand that perfectly well Mum, and that is why i would not stay long before i return. As soon as i arrive there, I will surely write to you, if i happen to see anybody coming home, I will send down messages, and more importantly, immediately i secure a job, I would have to visit home, I am definitely not leaving you in a lurch. So Mum have patience because everything would soon be alright” he assured her, but deep down he wasn’t sure about what was waiting for him over there. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
