Chapter 11
Chapter 11
Sixteen years of age...
Seven months + 3 weeks + 6 days pregnant....
I'm in my room, lying flat on my back, looking up at the ceiling. It's seven o'clock at night and I'm
eagerly waiting for my Celeste to call me. I want to give her the exciting news, hoping it will get in her a
better mood. gods only knows she deserves it right now. I told Papa this evening while we were all
seated around the dinner table. Luca was jumping up and down in his chair with fierce enthusiasm.
"Papa.." I say looking at him.
"Si, Gio." He answers as he places his utensils down, beside his plate, giving me his full attention.
" I've been asked to join the boy's rugby team at school." I watch him carefully, gauging his reaction
"You have?" His eyes light up and he smiles.
"Si, The boys approached me at the spacie parlour this afternoon," I look at Luca. "Isn't that right?" I
ask him.
Luca bounces up and down in his chair nodding his head.
"Si, after you showed them who's boss." His voice was filled with excitement.
"Brat," I mumble, sighing.
Can't be mad at the kid if he was only repeating what I had said to him when he asked me why we
were fighting.
"GIOVANNI!" Mama says, raising her voice laced with shock.
"Yes, mama?" I dared to play stupid.
"Don't you mama me," she points her finger in my direction, shaking it, up and down.
"You know full well we don't approve of any kind of violence." She scolds me. "And that's including
when you leave this house."
Papa looks at me and sighs. "What happened?"
I look at Luca giving him the evils, then I look back at my parents. "They were making a mockery of
Celeste and me," I say as my hands start to form fists.
"What did you except Gio?" Mama says, shaking her head. "You're young and soon to be parents."
"I will not stand back and let them sexually talk about my Celeste." My voice trembled with anger.
Mamas eyes soften and Papa sits there nodding his head.
"Alright, son." He says gently. "Are you sure you want to join the team?"
"Si, I think it will do me some good," I say honestly. "My mind revolves around Celeste when I'm not
busy. I go to school, I come home and go to the Clinic. But it's still not enough. I'm not allowed to go to
any of her appointments or baby scans. I'm being robbed of something I should be entitled to. She is
my daughter too, even if the Maddisons refuse to acknowledge me." I bang my fist against the table.
Causing everyone around me to jump with fright. "I'm sorry," I quickly say, raising both hands in the air.
"May I please be excused?"
"Si," Papa says.
I push my chair back and stand from the table, picking my plate up.
"Leave it," Papa says. "Luca and I will do the dishes tonight." His eyes were full of pity. "No matter what
you may think Gio, I all proud of you." He confesses.
I nod, placing my plate back down on the table, and I walk out of the kitchen with my head held high.
There's a loud ringing sound that brings me back to existence. I sit up, from my bed and retrieve my
phone.
"Celeste?" I say, as soon as I answer the phone.
"Hi.." She says, sounding exhausted.
"Have you rested at all today, il mio amore?" I ask concerned.
"No, it's near impossible to get rest around here at the moment," She sighs deeply. "My parents have
been arguing non-stop for the past two days."
"I'm sorry," My shoulders suddenly feel heavier, the extra weight of stress can do that to a man. Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
"It's not your fault Gio, I don't regret a thing that's happened between us. Remember that always."
"Always and forever," I say with a sad smile. "I have something that might make you laugh."
"Yeah?"
"Si, you ready?"
"Hit me." I can hear the amusement in her voice.
"I agreed to join the school rugby team."
She gasps, "No way!."
"Si," I say with pride.
"MY Giovanni's going to be a rugby player?" She giggles.
"Si, I miss you too much to sit around home going crazy with desire." I honestly tell her.
"Me too, I miss you so... Much Gio." A light sob leaves her mouth.
"Merda," I curse. "I didn't want to upset you. This wasn't my intention when I answered the phone." I
growl feeling pissed off at myself.
"It's okay, it's not entirely you. My hormones are so outta wack, I even cry watching Barbie with her
silly happily ever after endings." She sniffles
"Oh no, is Nessa still making you watch them with her?" I chuckle
"Yes, while she steals my hats and sings her little heart out." Her voice was filled with admiration for her
baby sister.
"Very cute indeed." I stand and walk to my window, looking out across the street where her house sits.
"I wish I was a fly on the wall," I mumble.
"And why would you wish to be a pesky fly?"
"So I can watch over you always without being noticed." I place my hand on the window, wishing hers
was on the other side.
"Like some kind of superpower?"
"Si, like in the movies. Where vampires can transform into bats."
Believe me, even I know how silly it sounds. But, I'm desperate and I miss her.
"Along as you weren't creeping." I hear laughter in her beautiful voice.
"It's a promise I know I wouldn't be able to keep, where you're concerned."
"It's a promise I'd hope you'd break every chance you could." She says lightly.
"You're very naughty Celeste," I growl over the phone.
"Only where you're concerned." She giggles.
I titter. "You will get us into some serious trouble when we're older." I joke.
"Oh, I plan to every moment I can get."
My naughty Celeste is flirting with me.
"I have to go, I love you." She hangs up quickly.
"Damn you, Mrs Maddison!" I grumble looking towards the house.
I throw my phone on the bed, ridding myself of my top, throwing it in the washing basket in the corner
of my room. I head towards the bathroom and turn the shower on ultracold. I need to cool my soul, it's
burning me from the inside, out. If I don't cool it down, I fear the rage will take over and I'll do something
that will have me regretting my decisions for eternity.
