Chapter 2235
Chapter 2235
“It’s me.”
Hearing Mike’s voice, Alexander and Austin shared a stunned look. They felt Mike had caught them
red-handed doing something without his knowledge. Of course, they were just trying to figure out what
happened to him.
Alexander gave Austin a reassuring look, then got up to open the door. “What’s the matter?”
Mike looked tired as he stood at the doorway, his eyes bloodshot. He looked inside and asked.
“Austin’s here too, right?”
Alexander glanced over his shoulder. “Yeah.” This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
“Can we talk inside?” Mike raised his brow, then rubbed it.
Feeling he was acting a bit off, Alexander nodded and stepped aside. “Come in.”
He left the door open and led Mike inside before pulling a chair over. “Take a seat.”
However, Mike did not sit down. Instead, he stood beside the table and looked at the two. “You were
talking about me, weren’t you?”
Embarrassed, the other two fell silent. Not knowing what to say, Austin coughed with his fist held to his
mouth.
However, Alexander bluntly answered, “Yes, we were.”
Since Mike was being direct, Alexander thought he should also be upfront. However, he was curious
what Mike would say.
“About what particularly?” Mike asked, looking odd.
“Since you knew we were talking about you, what do you think?” Alexander asked him back.
Mike let out a bitter smile. “I know you’ll never answer my question.”
“Why do you ask?” Alexander asked.
Mike shook his head with a forced smile.
“Well, let’s not beat around the bush,” Austin cleared his throat and tried to defuse the situation,
“Whatever it is, we can discuss it openly. Let’s solve it together, okay?”
“You mean discuss it openly between you two only?” Mike looked at the two with a complex
expression.
Austin was at a loss for words. He thought, ‘Damn, we’re going nowhere.’
Mike sighed and said, “I know you two suspect me that I was the one who let Rhea go. No, to be
precise, you guys are sure I was the culprit, right?”
Alexander asked, “Are we wrong?”
Austin hesitated and added, “Are we?”
“No, you’re right.” Mike readily nodded, much to their surprise.
