His Cure

It’s special to you too?

~

The next day.

..

The smell of something being burnt seeped into Beatrice’s nostrils.

She licked her mouth then giggled.

“You’re now rich, Beatrice. Now, you can afford paying for your mother’s surgery.”she uttered in her sleep.

Wait..

She sat up all of a sudden.

“I need to check if my money is still there.”she took her phone and checked her balance.

She heaved a sigh and touched her chest.

“My money is still here..”she smiles.

She sniffed around.. what the heck is this killer smell coming from?

She stood up and went out of her room.

She descended the stairs down and coughed.

There were smoke all over the place.

She covered her nostrils with her two fingers and moved towards the kitchen where the smoke seems to be coming from.

She found Gregory sitting on the chair in the dining area.

The kitchen door was left opened and in there was Jennifer trying to stop the smoke or whatever.

Beatrice coughs repeatedly.

“What is going on here?”she asked no one in particular.

But, for the first time, Gregory took the initiative to reply her.

“She woke me up this morning that she wanted to make breakfast for me and she would like for me to watch her as she cooks.”he informed.

“What?!. Did you turn into a dumbass overnight?”she scoffs.

It was shocking for her to hear him say that.

“Huh?. I just didn’t want to turn down her generous offer.”he shrugs.

Then, it hit her that he was being humorous.

She shook her head before howling.

Jennifer turned to her with a glare.

“What to do, though?. I guess I would have to leave now. Thanks for the show, Jenna.”he left.

Beatrice blinked, while forcing herself not to burst into laughter.

“You also burnt down the house, oh my God!”she convulsed before running away.

“Ahhhhh!!!”Jennifer scattered her hair and streamed.

As Beatrice wanted to pass by his door she heard,”come, author.”

Huh?

“How do you know I was the one?”she asked as she pulled the door in and went inside his room.

“I can smell your presence.”he responded.

“How so?”she arched her brows.

“You don’t have to know how.”he snorts.

She folded her arms.

“Why did you summon me here?”

He approached her with two cups of coffee and stretched one out to her.

She moved her hand forward to collect it but he suddenly withdrew his hand back.

“You’re going to collect it now?”he snickers.

“Allow me to drink this for you.”and he drank the whole coffee up.

“I love coffees.”he grinned at her with an exhale.

She rolled her eyes.

“Why are you telling me this?”

“Nothing. I will give you two hours to get prepared. I would like to hear your story.”

“O.. kay.”she huffs before turning back then left.

Two Hours Later.

..

Beatrice went to drop her dirty plate in the sink.

She opened the water and picked up the sponge, washing the plate.Property © NôvelDrama.Org.

She return it back to the dish rack.

Her phone vibrates in the back pocket of her trouser.

She brought it out and looked at the caller.

Daniel?

Oh, well. She forgot to block him again.

Probably because bits of her love for him still remains in her.

But, she badly wants to forget about this guy and move on with her life.

She picked it up and exhaled through her nose.

“Daniel.. what do you want now?”she drawled and slap her forehead.

“You ended things with me because of that?”he asked instead.

Her brows furrowed up in confusion.

“What are you insinuating?. I ended things with you because of what?”she asked, befuddled.

“I.. for all of our three years together, I had thought you were different but you turned out to be a gold digger instead. Was it because I was not giving you much money?, you went to another man’s house?. Or.. wait..”he scoffed.

“Who knows if you’ve been double – dating all these while. And, you said I was the cheating one?”

Beatrice scrunched up her nose.

“What nonsense are you spewing, Dan?. If I was ever in for the money, wouldn’t I be making frequent demands about that?. I don’t quite recall that I have for once, requested money from you. Let this be the last time you would be saying trash like that to me.”

“Bea..”

She tapped on the red button.

She felt waterworks glazed her eyes but she blinked it back.

“How about this?. I give you an awesome money and then, you leave?”Jennifer who had heard all their conversations, said behind her.

Beatrice turned back to her and scoffed.

“You’ve been eavesdropping on my conversation?”

Jennifer walked towards her.

“I wouldn’t exactly say it like that.”she stopped before her.

“This is a kitchen, and it is meant for public use. Not my fault that you were discussing what should be a private matter in a public area.”she shrugged and moved past her to take a box of yoghurt from the fridge.

“What do you say about my proposed benefits though?”

Beatrice ambled out of the kitchen without giving her a response.

She went up to Gregory’s room.

“Two hours, twenty minutes.”he remarked.

“I am late, I apologize for that.”

“It’s all fine.”he chuckles.

“Well, if it is so. Would you at least get a.. shirt or top to wear?”she looked away.

She wouldn’t be able to focus if he stays like that – Shirtless.

“Grab me one from my closet then.”

“Why should I…?”she stopped. She as going to ask him why she should do that but she decided to make peace with him that morning.

She walked to his closet and rummaged through his clothes.

“Woah, boy. You’ve got some amazing wears here..”she giggled happily as her eyes were blessed with different exquisite clothes.

He stood up and went to stand behind her.

“Can I have this?”she brought out a white shirt. There was a beautiful flower drawing on it.

It looks matured and unique.

She likes it.

She turned back and she gasps when she saw him so close to her.

She took a hard gulp down and stared away.

“Why are you so close?”

Goosebumps rose on her skin and she felt hot, even though the AC in the room was on.

“Why?”he raised a brow at her.

She looks at him.

His immaculate skin kept pulling her admirations for him in.

“Why would I give this to you?. You’re not my girlfriend.”he stated.

“Uhh?.. oh, yeah.. yeah.. I went out of line, sorry.”she rushed her words and hurriedly returned the shirt but another one caught her attention.

Huh?.

She brought it out and removed the hanger on it.

“My mom have a similar top to this.”

He snatched it from her and sighed.

“Hands off this.”he spoke.

She stares down at her empty hands then up at him.

“It also holds some kind of importance to you too?.”

“Maybe, or maybe not.”

“My mother was evasive too. But, I guess it’s from my dad: Maybe the last thing they shared together. We lost him when I was young.”

He gave a slow nod.

She smiles at him before folding her arms.

“Or.. perhaps, you’re my dad?, but you incarnated into a fine young man?”
