Chapter 141~ Come to me
##Flashback to weeks ago###
Aiden didn't want his brother to know that he was travelling back, so he didn't use his family's private jet. Instead, he boarded one of the airlines that was available that day.
The seats in first class were decent, but not as good as the Davis family's private jet.
He sat comfortably in the reclining plush leather seat, absorbed in his handheld gaming console when suddenly, a huge bag struck him, jerking him forward.
""What the-"
Aiden turned and found a lady trying to wedge her oversized bag into the overhead compartment. Her long dark silky hair flowed beautifully on her back and she was dressed in a pair of blue jeans, a black blouse and black sneakers. He frowned when he noticed her wrangling with the bag but he didn't have time to offer help since his game had just gotten good.
Aiden returned his attention to his game, ignoring the lady entirely.
Meanwhile, Diane grunted softly, pushing with all her might. 'How come these compartments felt so small?'
Diane had missed her flight and ended up using an airline that she wasn't familiar with. This one was a bit different from the luxurious flights she usually took.
She continued to force the bag in, unaware that the back of her bag kept smacking into the man seated in the other seat.
At the same time, Aiden was almost winning his game when the bag hit him on the shoulder and in trying to quickly push it away in order to concentrate on his game, his hand shot up and landed squarely on Diane's ass. Diane let out a gasp, whipping her head around, her eyes blazing with anger as she spat, "What the fuck? Did you just grab my ass?"
Aiden froze when he felt the softness of what he was grabbing. He turned to look and found himself grabbing Diane's butt.
His eyes widened and he quickly let go like he had touched hot coal.
"My apologies. I was aiming for your bag," he explained helplessly.
Diane put her bag down and turned to fully face Aiden, saying, "Are you kidding me? Couldn't you tell the difference between a bag and my ass? Or maybe you just wanted a feel? You're such a pervert!"
Aiden looked uncomfortable as the other first-class passengers started peering over their newspapers and tablets to see what was going on.
He lowered his voice and remarked, "I didn't do it intentionally. Your bag kept attacking me. Should I have left it to bruise me instead?"
"My bag was attacking you?" Diane scoffed. "Sir, it's embarrassing for such a handsome young man like you to be a pervert."
"I'm not a pervert!" Aiden objected. "You were shoving your damned bag into my face!"
"So you decided to grab my ass-"
"I'm sorry, ok? It was an accident. Can you please let it slide," Aiden asked, his voice low. He didn't want to find his face on social media the next day with a long article about him being a pervert. So even though he wasn't a pervert, he had to be the bigger person and apologise.
##End of Flashback##
Aiden shook his head and said, "Actually, I did apologise for something that I didn't intentionally do."
Diane chuckled, her eyes falling on Aiden's for a moment.
"I guess I did misunderstand you. You're not a pervert at all," She remarked, a small smile crossing her lips.
A thought suddenly occurred to her. She looked at Aiden and asked, "So, you know about my embarrassing past... I think it's only fair that I know about yours as well. Are you dating? Or got an ex that you can't forget? What's your dirtiest secret?
Aiden laughed, his dimples coming into full display, making Diane gulp as she stared at him in awe. How could he be so handsome? He looked like a Kdrama Oppa. Unaware of Diane's thoughts, Aiden swirled the contents of his glass and downed it before saying with a sense of mystery, "Trust me... you don't wanna know."
...
The next day, Lora knocked off from work when she found Jason waiting for her outside the building with a bouquet of roses.
She furrowed her eyebrows and asked him, "What are you doing?"
Jason smiled. Ignoring Lora's obvious hostility, he approached her and said, "I just came to see you."
"With flowers?" Lora arched an eyebrow. "Please don't do this, Jason. You're just going to end up being hurt all over again."
"I don't mind. I want to try my best and if I fail, I'll know that it just couldn't work out," Jason replied.
"Jason, it won't work out. Whether you steal Ryan's position, or you collude with your mother to expose his illness-"
"I didn't know about that," Jason intercepted. "I also just found out when my mother did the interview."
Lora studied Jason's face and saw that he was being sincere. She sighed and asked, "So, what are you doing here when you know what my family is going through?" "I'm here to fight for you, Lora. Come to me... I promise to always be there for you. I love you-"
"I'm with Ryan now. And I love him, Jason. Please understand," Lora said in frustration.
Silence fell upon them for a few seconds. Jason looked into Lora's eyes and said, "But Ryan doesn't have long to live-"
A slap to the face tilted Jason's face to the side and Lora massaged her palm which stung from the sharp slap she gave him.
She glared at him and spat, "When the truth came out, I thought you were different from your mother. I thought she was manipulating you, but I guess I was wrong."
"Jason, do you even know what
you're doing? Ryan is your brother, does he have to be your enemy? He may not have long to live, but wish to stay by his side until he takes his last breath." All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
"Lora... I... I didn't mean to-"
"You see this ring?" Lora said, raising
her left hand to show Jason her
wedding ring. She continued, "This is proof of the vows I made when remarried Ryan. I don't care if he's
disabled, has two days to live or if he becomes poor, he's my husband and he will be until the very end."
