Chapter 209
Chapter 209
Franklin stopped and said to Harry with a cold face, "Harry, stay out of this, or we won't even be
friends."
Harry frowned, and the others were shocked to hear it.
Franklin's words were too grave. He was so close to Harry. Even if Harry betrayed his sister and stole
his girlfriend, Franklin still chose to be friends with him. It was really puzzling to hear him say such cruel
words because of a stranger.
After Harry was shocked, he smiled bitterly and said, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to meddle in this. I
thought you had let go of the past, but you didn't and I was surprised."
"Whether I had let go has nothing to do with you." Franklin said coldly.
Harry gritted his teeth and suddenly cursed. "Yes, it has nothing to do with me, but it has something to
do with Avery! Since you can't let go of Emily, why are you engaged to Avery?"
"Alas, why are you quarreling? Take it easy."
As soon as the two of them started to quarrel, the people around them immediately stepped forward to
persuade them out of it.
But no one dared to talk to Franklin, so they could only persuade Harry not to be impulsive.
Franklin stared at Harry with a serious look in his eyes and said coldly after a while, "I don't need to
explain anything to anyone, especially this."
After that, he turned around and left again.
This time, even James didn't dare to call him. He didn't expect Franklin to be so bad-tempered that he
didn't even care bout the feelings of Harry, his friend for many years.
"I'm really sorry. I got you into trouble." James said to Harry.
Harry's face was grim, too. He shook his head and said, "It isn't about you. He and I...will have a fight
sooner or later."
"He doesn't even give me a chance to talk now. What else can I do to save Emily?" James said
worriedly.
Harry thought for a while and said to James, "You go back first. I'll help you find a way. I'll contact you
when I have news."
"But he just..."
"If he doesn't talk to me, it's the same to talk to someone else." Harry said.
James was very grateful to Harry and said, "Mr. Carters, thank you so much. Although we have only
met by chance, you were willing to help me like this."
"You're welcome. Emily and I are friends. Even if it's not for you, I should do this for her." Harry said.
James thanked him again and left led by the staff here.
Harry sighed and rubbed his temples. His friend next to him said, "Why did you lash out at Franklin?
What happened between you and Miss Lewis has long passed. You haven't let that go?"
Everyone knew that Harry liked Avery and had waited for her for so many years. Not long after Avery
returned from abroad, she suddenly got engaged to Franklin. Many people were very sad and felt pity
for Harry. Four years had passed, and they thought Harry had already let go of the past. They didn't
expect him to say this and vent his anger today.
Harry shook his head and didn't bother to explain the matter in detail. After saying goodbye to
everyone, he left.
He called Avery and asked the driver to send him there when he found out that she was in the store.
After Avery returned from abroad, she opened her own studio. She was a fashion designer and her
design was rare, so her business had always been getting along well.
When Harry arrived, he saw that she had finished the sample clothes and then asked her assistant to
deal with the following details.
As soon as she turned around and saw him standing at the door looking at her, she smiled and said,
"Why did you suddenly come here today? You rarely come. Did Ivy want something and ask you to tell
me?"
"It's not Ivy. I want to talk to you." Harry said. All content is © N0velDrama.Org.
Avery raised her eyebrows and asked her assistant to pour two cups of coffee and bring them over.
She sat by the window and said, "Just tell me! Don't stand on ceremony in front of me."
"Do you know that Emily is back?" Harry asked.
Avery's hand trembled and the coffee almost spilled out.
"I don't know. When did she come back? How do you know?" Avery calmed herself down and asked
with a forced smile.
"She has been back for two days! She was sent to jail by Franklin. Still the crime four years ago.
Suspected of murder."
"Franklin put her in jail?" Avery said in surprise.
Harry smiled bitterly and said, "I didn't expect that! Franklin, a mature man, could do such a thing. Now
that he put Emily in prison, Emily's current husband came to ask me for help. I had met him once. It's
not appropriate for me to refuse, so I agreed, but Franklin didn't want to sit down and talk."
"So you came to me?" Avery asked.
But she was more curious about the fact that Emily was married than this question.
"You just said Emily's current husband. Is she married?"
Harry nodded and said with a gloomy face, "She has been married long ago and Franklin has you now.
Why doesn't he let go of what happened four years ago? He clearly knows that what happened four
years ago had nothing to do with Emily. Why is he doing this now?"
"Are you so angry and agitated because you think he can't let go of Emily?" Something serious flashed
through Avery's eyes and she asked Harry.
Harry was stunned, then smiled bitterly and said, "I really can't hide anything from you. You're so smart.
Of course, you can see the truth."
"You know that I never regret getting engaged to him." Avery said sadly.
Harry said in a grave voice, "Even though he wouldn't marry you after you were engaged for four
years?"
"This is between me and Franklin. I never regretted getting engaged to him, and you know that. No
matter what you say, it won't change my mind. I'll ask him about what you said and try to fix it. After all,
Miss Johnson is our friend. But it won't affect my relationship with Franklin." Avery said solemnly to
Harry.
Harry was so angry that he wanted to bite someone's head off. His dream girl who he valued as a
treasure and goddess meant nothing to others. She herself knew that Franklin didn't love her at all, but
she still stubbornly stayed with Franklin.
People who had never experienced this would never know how sad he was now.
"If there's nothing else, you can leave now! I have work to do." Avery stood up and said.
"Avery, are you looking down on me?" Harry asked with a bitter smile.
He also looked down on himself. He had always been gentle and solved problems tactically. However,
he always made a fool of himself when things were about Avery. He came here recklessly and was like
a base person who wanted to sow discord between the girl he loved and her fiancé.
"Of course not. You're a good person. No one is better than you. Since this is your friend's business, I'll
try my best to help." Avery smiled.
After Harry left, she sighed.
After thinking about it, she took out her phone and called Franklin to ask where he was.
