Chapter 939 Averi Suffers a Great Grievance Today

Averi had been waiting at the Harlequin Cuisine for quite some time when Beata and Yael finally

arrived. She had no idea what had happened between the two of them during that time, but it was clear

to her that Beata was genuinely happy. Averi couldn't help but glance over at Yael and noticed that he

too seemed very pleased.

Averi's mind was filled with questions, but she knew she wouldn't get any answers even if she asked.

Beata walked over and took Averi's hand, saying, "We've been waiting a while; there are just too many

people in line."

There weren't too many people actually, but it was the girls who bought something and then didn't

leave afterward that really annoyed Beata. However, thinking back on everything that happened at the

dessert shop earlier made her happier than not.

Averi said, "Okay let's go." She was worried about traffic since they hadn't told River they were coming

and didn't know if he'd already eaten.

Beata saw how anxious Averi looked and chuckled before saying, "Averi, do you miss my brother?" Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.

Averi replied with a sigh as she thought to herself, "This girl never stops teasing me."

She playfully tapped Beata on the head before warning her, "If you keep talking nonsense, I'll have

your brother deal with you."

Beata laughed mischievously before retorting, "I'm not afraid of him!"

On their way to River's company building, Yael drove while Beata and Averi sat in the backseat.

Although nothing about what happened at the dessert shop came up in conversation this time around,

all of those details from earlier had already been reported back to River by now.

He felt conflicted as he sat in his office chair considering whether or not it was because he mentioned

something to his sister beforehand which caused her to bring everything out into the open like this.

He couldn't help feeling satisfied with Yael though; otherwise he wouldn't have entrusted him with

protecting his sister all these years.

But still... the feeling of satisfaction towards someone versus catching them were two completely

different things in River's eyes - right now Yael seemed more like a thief than anyone else!

River wanted nothing more than to call him up right then, so they could have a good talk about

everything!

However, given River's understanding of Beata, he was very clear that if he really did this, then Beata

would be so angry that she would jump up and down to ask for an explanation.

He still can't do anything to hurt Beata, even if it was just to make her unhappy.

After being depressed in the office for a long time, River received the news that Averi came over.

Of course, Beata came here together.

Thinking of Averi, River felt even more guilty.

Although what he said before was his original intention, for a woman, it would actually make the other

party uncomfortable.

If Beata was the girl River didn't want to hurt, someone who hoped to protect her when she grew up,

then Averi was the one he didn't want her to suffer any grievance.

However, it was obvious that Averi had been greatly wronged today.
