He acted like he was all buddy-buddy with her, stirring up suspicion among the big families. If he actually knew her, he'd be thrilled to ride her coattails, but they don't know each other at all! Jacob and Carly exchanged a glance, opting to stay quiet. Joey would figure it out eventually.

Meanwhile, at the entrance of the Gilbert estate, Flora and Connor had already removed their masks and changed into different clothes.
"Connor, do you think Uncle Gerald recognized me? He's sharp; he must've figured it out," Flora wondered aloud. She had dropped a hint.
Connor had told her not to reveal her identity, so she hadn't outright stated who she was, but she had subtly hinted to Joey. Joey and Gerald were sharp as tacks, and surely they'd pieced it together by now. Connor just smiled, keeping his thoughts to himself.
"Did they recognize you?" He pondered. Maybe, maybe not.
"Oh, and what's up with this Tara?" Flora's eyes narrowed, a hint of mischief in her voice. "Come on, spill, big brother."
She emphasized "big brother" with a teasing tone. Connor straightened up. "I don't know her. Seriously, she just came up to me out of nowhere."
"Really?" Flora teased, clearly not convinced. "In my heart, there's only you. No one else matters," Connor said softly, wrapping his arm around her waist. Flora was the only one who caught his attention, the only one in his heart.
Flora smiled, though she couldn't quite shake the natural hostility she felt toward Tara. Maybe it was because of the shared last name. She couldn't help but be a bit more curious about her.
"Connor, you mentioned my mom's
last name was Moore, and so is Tara's. Do you think there's any connection?" Flora asked casually not giving it much thought. Connor didn't respond, but his eyes deepened, as dark and mysterious asink.

As they continued their conversation, Joey and the others returned. From a distance, they could see two figures standing at the estate's entrance. There was something familiar about them.
