Chapter 218 It Doesn't Suit You

Chapter 218 It Doesn't Suit You

When Clara got changed, Elaine flattered, "Clara, you look gorgeous in it. It's tailored for you. You must

buy it!"

"Really?" Clara found it a little weird. It wasn't her style and looked strange on her.

"Of course. I'm a professional designer. Don't you believe me? I pick out more items for you. Try it on.

Let me see if it fits you."

Elaine gave her several more clothes, and they all looked similar to that one piece. Elaine urged her to

try it on.

"Well, ok." Clara didn't want to cast a chill over her.

After Clara went to the fitting room, Elaine put on a crooked smile.

Clara tried it on one by one. Elaine said each one of them was perfect and asked her to buy them all.

Otherwise, she would buy them for her.

Finally, Clara bought all the clothes she had just tried.

Then Elaine took her to buy the cosmetic products.

"No, Elaine, it's not necessary. I only wear light makeup. I don't need to buy so many cosmetics." Clara

stopped Elaine who showed great interest in the makeup counter.

"Clara, the crave for beauty is written in women's genes. You should dress yourself up." Elaine dragged

her arms froward, "Besides, your husband is Horace. Do you know how many pretty young chicks want

to hit on him? Aren't you afraid?"

Clara found it amusing. If Horace only valued appearance, he wouldn't choose her to be his wife. But

she was somehow convinced. It was true that women always wanted to dress up for the one they

loved.

Under Elaine's strong recommendation, Clara bought many cosmetics that she wouldn't usually buy.

Elaine also put a makeup on Clara.

After it was done, Elaine looked at Clara in the mirror and said, "It's very beautiful. I know I have good

taste. This makeup fits you very much. You should dress up like today, I'm sure Horace will fall for you."

Elaine turned to the shopping assistant and asked, "Am I right?"

"Well, this lady is already beautiful enough, but she looks even prettier in makeup." smiled the

assistant.

Having shopped for the whole afternoon, Clara said goodbye to Elaine and went home with loads of

shopping bags.

When she went back, Horace hadn't got home yet. Clara thought for a while, and decided to change

into that white dress.

With the belt hung loosely at the waist, her waist seemed even more slender. Clara let down her

shoulder-length hair, so her back was partly hidden and partly visible. She looked pure and sassy at the

same time. The makeup on her face also matched this look.

Although she looked different than usual, Clara had to admit that she was hotter this way.

Clara blushed and took a deep breath. She went downstairs, with anticipation and delight.

When it turned 6:30, Clara started to feel impatient. Why haven't Horace come home? He usually come

back before 6.

As soon as she took out her phone, Clara heard the door open.

"Why did you come home so late today?" asked Clara.

Horace was changing his shoes. He laughed when he heard the question, "There's a last-minute

meeting today. You miss me?"

"In your dreams." Clara smiled and took over his suit.

Horace froze when he looked up. The smile also died on her lips. He looked at her in shock.

"What's wrong?" Clara was confused at his response.

Horace soon recovered from surprise. "You bought new clothes today?"

"Yes," Somehow, Clara felt a little nervous. "I went out with Elaine today. I saw this dress and bought it.

Isn't it cute?"

Horace paused then said, "It's too gaudy, it doesn't suit you. I think you should change."

Clara grunted assent and went upstairs disappointedly.

After changing into her usual outfit, Clara stared at the white one piece.

She deliberately changed into this dress and waited for him to come back. Her heart sank when she

thought of it. She was down in the mouth.

Clara took several deep breaths and cursed herself for being fragile. She covered her eyes and forced

the tears back.

In the middle of the night, when Clara came back from the bathroom, she heard Horace calling "Laura".

She turned around to look at him. He was still asleep, with his eyebrows frowned and the veins on his

temple throbbing. He must have had a nightmare.

Laura? Is it Laura? He had a dream about her?

Hearing Laura's name out of his mouth and recalling his cold reaction today, Clara finally burst into

tears.

She turned her back against Horace and bit her index finger. Soon the pillowcase got damp with her

tears.

When she woke up in the morning, Horace had gone. Maybe it was because she cried so hard last

night, she had a heavy sleep and didn't even know when he got up.

When Clara washed up, she saw in the mirror that her sore eyes were swollen.

"How should I go out?" Clara looked at his swollen eyes and said regretfully. She took out two ice bags

and compressed them against her eyes, which made her feel better.

When she was about to get changed, she saw the clothes that she bought yesterday hanging in the

closet.

Then she recalled what he said yesterday. "It's too gaudy. It doesn't suit you."Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
