First 26
Leila’s heartbeat immediately spikes and she lets go of Kelvin’s hands, causing a pained look to cross his
eyes.
But it quickly disappears when Tatum’s cold grey orbs set on him and Kelvin’s naturally soft blue eyes turn into steel. Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
The tension in the air grows thick, so thick, it is almost visible to the naked eye.
“Leave,” Tatum says to Kelvin with enough chill to freeze the entire building.
Kelvin smirks coldly at him. “You always seem to show up after I do all the work.”
“I’m not going to ask you again,” Tatum’s tone takes a low and dangerous edge, his eyes growing thin and
he slowly walks towards Kelvin who stands to his feet, ready to throw hands, if need be.
He knows he is no match for the Alpha but he will fight for this woman, even to his death.
call you.
“That’s enough, both of you,” Leila cuts in. “Please go Kev, I’ll call
Kelvin scoffs softly before he smiles at her, taking her hand and kissing it.
“Take care of yourself, little dove.”
He walks towards the exit, stopping in front of Tatum and they both stare at each other, eyes cold and barely apart before Kelvin nods.
“Alpha.”
Tatum brushes past Kelvin, bumping his shoulder, walking over to Leila. “Let’s get you home.”
“You can go, I want to stay here a while, Alpha,” Leila replies in a monotonous tone, not even looking at him.
Tatum’s brows furrow. “Really? You’ve become so delicate that one whip to the arm and you need to be hospitalised? I thought you said you were not weak, LUNA.”
What?
Leila feels a sharp stab of pain at Tatum’s cold and harsh words.
She knows that he doesn’t love her. But this? Even from a friend, it’s cold. Let alone the friend who stepped up for her in her darkest days. She thought he saved her, only to realized she was saved, as a symbol of Carmi’s “crystal heart” that he will always keeps in his chest.
He KNEW she doesn’t have a wolf. Of all people, HE knew! And he came only to mock her, after he ordered the sentence he knew she wouldn’t be able to take.
When it came to his Phoenix Luna, even with how healthy she was and with her special wolf, he kept her in the hospital for a week and now she can’t even treat her wounded arm for a few days without getting chastised?
“You know what, Alpha, maybe I lied, maybe I am weak and if you don’t like it, then go home and get done with it. It’s on your desk!” Leila raises her voice at him, her eyes cold and hard.
Tatum’s eyes widen in shock from Lella’s tone but he quickly recovers, keeping a straight face knowing he deserves it. He reacted too harshly, the anger of her wanting a divorce and seeing her with Kelvin all cozy got to him.
Even then, he has never seen her so cold like she has been today, does she really want to leave him?
He has never thought about this.
It was supposed to be a convenient decision. She needed protection, and he needed a Luna.
So why is it so hard to hear that from her?
How could she just leave him…so easily?
“What is this thing on my desk?” He slowly sits beside her, sinking the bed with his weight.
This is the second time she is mentioning leaving something on his desk. Could this thing on his desk be the divorce paper Clayton said she gave to him?
Leila drags her knees to her chest, hugging herself, hating so much that once again, his loving smell comforts her, like she just feels right at home, being close to him.
“The blue folder on your desk, there’s a file inside it for you,” Leila replies, throwing her eyes to the wall beside her.
Tatum hides his smirk.
Why won’t she just say what is inside the blue folder? The folder he got from Clayton was blue quite alright and he knows what file is inside but she keeps using an innuendo, like she cannot bring herself to say the words to him.
There still may be a way to salvage the situation.
He smiles at her beautiful side profile and gently cups her face so he can see the reluctance in her eyes to be sure.
“Are you sure you left this- special folder on my desk? I’ve torn the entire place upside down, looking for it but I couldn’t find it.”
Leila looks a bit shocked. “I left it, right there on your desk, on top of your books.”
“Well I’m right in front of you, whatever is in the folder, I’m sure you can just tell me,” Tatum says, keeping a straight face but his heart is pounding wildly, a nervous edge grating at it.
What if she actually says it?
