Epilogue
The air thrummed with a literal life. There were all sorts of people, men, women, politicians, royalty… everyone had turned out for what the media was calling the wedding of the year. Cameramen and media people, various paparazzi clashed over who got what shot and where, but there was no need. Everybody who was anybody was here.
Including the ladies who wept in agony that their favorite bachelor was finally snatched off the market and the men who were glad that the hottest and richest Bachelor has been leg shackled, giving them room to have the lady’s atywnriom to themselves.
And that was just those who were outside. Inside (Nathan had used a massive chapel that had an impossibly large hall), more people were seated, some of the women in different attires and holding elegant fans and accessories. It was like a gala masquerading as a wedding. Flowers and wreaths adorned the pews that the congregation sat in, and there were the occasional bursts of confetti and flowers, the spray of perfume, the aromas… a gargantuan cake.
In the center of a dais, in front of the priest who was going to officiate, Nathan stood. He was fitted in a white suit that had a golden sash running from both shoulders and tapering into a belt at his waist. He looked magnificent. But it wasn’t just his physique that was breathtaking, on the inside, Nathan felt like walking on the moon-he was marrying the most beautiful woman in the world. After everything that had transpires between them, Nathan couldn’t believe it all led to this day.Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.
Demelza was finally his.
“How do I look?” He asked the men around him for the umpteenth time. Even the priest scowled at him and mockingly said. “Maybe when the bride sees you and takes off, we’ll all finally know.”
Everybody but Nathan laughed. He was positive that before the day ended, he would have broken out in a cold sweat and been buried.
“I just really want to know, one last time before she”
The orchestra started playing the opening lines for Here Comes The Bride, and every word left Nathan’s mouth. The congregation stood and all turned towards the door. The bride began her march.
When she got to the dais, Nathan struggled to breathe.
“You look…” he fought to find the words to use. The priest cleared his throat and the congregation settled down again.
Nathan swallowed the words and did his best not to look at the veiled bride. He half-heard what the priest was saying, and had rambled through his vows.
Whenever Nathan was asked, the one thing he remembered about his wedding was when the priest had declared, “you may kiss the bride.”
Nathan’s smile had almost torn his face in two as he beamed.
He lifted up the veil. “Hello, you. Would you marry me?”
Demelza smiled sheepishly at him from under her veil.
“Yes, I will.”
Nathan felt like the happiest man on earth getting married to Marissa and starting his legacy with her.
“And They Lived Happily Ever After…”
