Chapter 21
A deep silence fell between the three who stood staring at each other. Lilian couldn’t believe that Xavier was still around, and at the moment… she doesn’t need to get him more upset.
She turned her back instantly and left Nessa’s bakery. Of all the voices Xavier raised calling back her attention, she ignored them and left them.
Xavier thought of leaving. No! He can’t just leave Vanessa in that annoying mood, that lady needs to brighten up her face.
He walked into the bakery and stood behind the seat but was unable to get his ass on it.
“Vanessa…” he called out her name.
The innocent lady turned to face her, she had that look of i-want-to-be-alone vividly on her face.
Xavier studied her facial expression, he wouldn’t want to be told that the lady is pissed off already due to Lilian’s action toward her.
She helped her. Yes, she did. If it wasn’t for her, he wouldn’t be on her feet at the moment.
“Forgive Lilian and forgive me too, Vanessa. For the sake of my little daughter…”
Nessa glanced at him and circled her lips, the word ‘forgiveness’ doesn’t flow in her at the moment.
“I know you might be thinking of quitting this job right now because of her rudeness. But please, even if you will disregard everyone including me, just don’t forget that Chloe loves you so much and can’t just be without you… I’m begging you, please Vanessa…” he pleaded politely.
Nessa kept her gaze constantly on him, she wouldn’t believe a wealthy man like Xavier will almost go on his knees just in pleas.
She heaved a big sigh and got seated on the chair.
“You know what? I guess it’s all my fault, if I had left without being back to know how you’re faring, this wouldn’t have taken place. Lilian wouldn’t have been thinking negatively of my hospitality…” she stated.
Xavier understood how she felt at the moment, he wouldn’t blame the innocent lady to take care of him that way.
Besides, if not for Vanessa… he wouldn’t have gotten the strength to speak or rather move.
“I’m still pleading, Vanessa. Don’t take this so seriously, and don’t ever forget that I’m the one who employed you… not Lilian.”
He got seated beside her.
“You just said it and it seems so easy for you, but in all… I won’t let that lady you refer to as your fiance step on my feet for any reason…” she declared openly.
Xavier nodded and got on his feet. “She’s your fellow woman, so I don’t think I’ll affix myself with this issue… but please, take good care of Chloe.”
He left the bakery and stepped into his car after going through his cell phone for a moment.
Vanessa watched him drive off to the way leading to his company.
She went into deep thought, surely about Lilian and no one else. That lady isn’t the reason she is working there, and so she won’t let her treat her like an animal.
Lilian is not yet his wife by the way, so there’s every reason that she needs to comport herself and focus on building a great home with her fiance. Not walking about roaring like a lion looking for who to devour.
If she ever keeps mute towards her, then she might be her tool in no time.
Just like Xavier stated… Chloe is the reason she’s found present in that home, or rather… she will quit the job for good.
But the health of the innocent girl matters to her a lot. She can’t forsake her when she needs one that will treat her like a mother.
If only Lilian isn’t arrogant, it’s her responsibility to handle every issue concerning Chloe. Therefore, she wouldn’t want the girl you feel bad due for her absence.
**********
Lilian had dozed off while waiting for Xavier to return, she had thought the man was coming back home.
Well, she’s unaware that Xavier left the company and didn’t bother to let her know.
Since she had decided to ignore her even in public, he had to let her be for good.
She was awoken by the fullness of her bladder that needed to be relieved, and instantly, she returned to the room after making use of the restroom.
“He isn’t yet back, I’m just sure he isn’t with Vanessa or I’ll skin that lady alive.” She muttered to herself while moving towards the door.
She climbed down the stairs to the sitting room, but couldn’t find a single soul in the building. Every corner of the house was so quiet.
A gasp escaped her throat. “He left to work without letting me know huh? No! Xavier can’t just do that..” she moved to the kitchen and disclosed the refrigerator.
Her eyes caught a meal filled in an aluminum dip plate, and she grabbed it out.
Not again, but she will do it again.
“Tracy will prepare their lunch once they’re back…” she assured herself while microwaving the meal.
She moved to the dining and got seated, behind the plate of food is a glass of fruit juice. She began gobbling on the meal proving how hungry she was.
It took her minutes to empty the plate and clean up the table before she left the sitting room and turned on the television.
The doorbell rang and was wrapped open, she watched as Chloe strode in followed by her siblings as they all greeted and left upstairs.
“I’m very hungry, sis,” Chloe announced just as she pulled out her clothes serially and left her room.
Tracy alerts Ben to meet them in the dining room so they can take their meal as well.
“Hope you learned well today, Chloe?” Tracy referred to the little girl.
She nodded. “My teacher gave me a take-home assignment today again, you’ll help me do it right?”
“Sure. But after taking a nap, you need to rest your brain first.” Tracy uttered.
Chloe smiled at that assurance and got seated on the dining chair, while Tracy left to get their meal in the kitchen.
She noticed her sister out of the kitchen but with a grimace look on her face.
“What’s the matter, Tracy,” Ben asked, standing from the seat.
She moved out of the dining room to the sitting room. Tears almost gathered in her eyes.
“You are our meal again. Why? Must you always empty the plate without preparing another meal?” She yelled out of anger.
The anger roaming in her was obvious, the bites and rumbling of her stomach out of hunger wasn’t getting calm at all.
“And is it ever a big deal to prepare another huh?” Lilian retorted, getting on her feet.
Ben sighted how intense the matter is getting and moved towards them.
“You did it the first time, and now you repeated it. What sort of human being are you? I bet you can never make a good mother…” Ben remarked annoyingly.
She got seated ignoring them.Text © owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
“I hate you even with the last blood running in my veins. If it isn’t a big deal, why then didn’t you pretend another? Of course, you know we must be hungry once we’re back from school…” Tracy roared.
Chloe twitched towards her and hit her thigh. “You’re so antagonistic. I will never watch my father bring you into this home as a wife, and besides, I’ll let him know once he’s back.”
She drew the little girl’s lips and then pushed her to the floor, she hit her left arm on the table before landing on the ground.
Heaven knows she had hated this child from the first day Xavier announced his children to her.
She won’t love to see them around her for any reason. If it’s easy for her to wipe them out of the house or rather the world, she won’t hesitate to do that.
But she’s quite sure that the famous multi-billionaire does not spare her life if anything happens to them.
“Trust me, you’ll ever regret coming into this home. I just wish dad would hear us out, but he wouldn’t..” she sniffed and wiped her face while helping Chloe get on her feet. “I promise you, the spell you used on my father will soon vanish because my mother will never watch you treat us this way.”
She smiled and relaxed on the chair. “When you are done, then you can go prepare lunch.”
Probably, if it’s easier for her to spellbound Xavier, she would do that. But it’s never easy.
Xavier is a human from another planet, but one thing is that the love and trust he had for her is enormous.
Talking about the dead soul, she believes the woman has gone to rest for good so she would take control of her husband and everything that belongs to him.
She picked up her cellphone and began scrolling through it.
Few hours left for Xavier to arrive home, and between two things… one must surely happen.
