Jamie put down the phone and hugged her son, "I'm sorry, sweetheart. I wanted to spend more time with you today, but Mrs. Lawrence just called, and I have to go to work now."

"When the baby arrives, our whole world will revolve around them. Jack, I love you for who you are, not because of the balance on a bank account. When you work so hard, it worries me."
Her words were heartfelt. Since they
had moved in together, Ben had spent most nights sleeping in the study. At first, she had felt puzzled, even bringing him tea a few times, only to find him buried in work. It left her both touched and concerned.
