“What do you mean you almost rejected your bonus Sydney are you crazy?” Sydney’s friend asked through the phone.

“Well when I saw the amount that had been credited just for a bonus, girl I panicked it was super humongous and I can’t even begin to think of what I would do with it” she explained to her friend.

“You don’t say now Syd, what did Paxton say?” her friend asked her an she had to explained everything that happened in Paxton’s office.

“Well when I got into his office, he gave , me a task and rhen asked for my account details as I left his office in a million years Tasha I would never have thought he would give me such a huge amount for a bonus” she explained .

“And what did you do dufus? Because I know you could have asked him to reduce it” Tasha said and as if she read Sydney like a book it was sure she had rejected it.

“You didn’t reject it I hope so?” she deep panned waiting for an answer when Sydney was quiet on the other end of the phone.

“Well I told him the money was just too much and I wasn’t sure I would take it but he hushed me telling me I deserved it since I had worked my ass off for the contract” she responded.

“Then take the cash girl, unless you’ve got no needs you can send it to me I need new clothes by the way” Tasha said in a sarcastic tone.

“Yeah you bet girl, now I’ve got work to do see this weekend” Sydney said.

“Well about that Jackson would be in town and we would want to have some time to ourselves if you know what I mean, I think I have cobwebs down there” Tasha explained.

“Sheesh girl too much information now girl bye” Sydney said and ended the call with a great laugh.

She was in a happy mood and although she was happy for her friend Tasha she couldn’t help but feel like she didn’t have what Tasha had with her man.

At every little point of peace she wanted with Jaxton became somewhat turbulent when Paxton got into the picture and it was becoming monotonous.

And she was not liking it at all. She liked Jaxton but he just was not getting it that she had nothing ti do with Paxton aside from work.

At least she was going for grocery shopping this weekend and also she was going to have a big saving this weekend at her bank. Sydney was super excited because she was going to have a fun-filled weekend and she might just buy herself a VIP ticket to the spa her body needed it.

“Hello babe I just got my bonus right now” she said to Jaxton who was enthusiastic to hear her happy at her win.

“Okay baby that great hope you are happy with it?” he asked her.

“Yes I am super happy its great actually, I didn’t know that your brother was going to give me something hat huge” she commented.

“Well you deserve it don’t you?” he asked in a happy tone.

“Then you deserve it then honey” he applauded her.

“Can I take you out to dinner today at least I should treat you out with my wins” she said as she waited for his response.

The line went dead for a few minutes before he decided to respond to her.

As she was planning to call this a weekend and a close for the week and also go for her date with Jaxton, she took her bag going out but was met with Paxton.

“You have a lovely weekend sir” she said as she was going but she was stopped with what he said next.

“Sydney, you have to work late today, that’s the reason why I was coming to your office to inform you” Paxton said bluntly. And leaving Sydney mouth ajar and confused why she had to work late.

“Oh because there are some documents that urgently need your attention right now when you are done you can go” Paxton replied.

For a minute she felt like she had him in a tight choke and he was gagging on his spittle and ready for death.

“Okay sir” she replied and left and went for the documents.

“At least oi would have some time to rush to the restaurant before Jaxton gets there” she told herself.

After being engrossed in work for at least three hour without noticing how much time she had wasted and she had not even informed Jaxton she was working late and would come to the restaurant a little late.

Checking her phone she had received a bunch of missed calls from Jaxton, damn the fact that she had to keep her phone on silent because of the numerous notifications she didn’t want to attend to while at work.

She began trying to call him but Jaxton was not taking her calls as she ran down the stairs she realized just Paxton’s office light was on and the company was vacant.

She rushed to her car and drove at high speed she was praying she would meet Jaxton at the restaurant but how could she have forgotten?

Right now she was three hours thirty minutes late from their date/\.

As she got there she realized he had left.
