Chapter 09
Locked up II
Elina cried, curling herself in a tight ball around the corner. Her head was pounding, her entire body quivers. Like a chicken. The room was too dark she couldn’t see a thing, her glasses had fallen off when he dragged her down here. He buried her head in between Her thighs. Crying her eyes out. This wasn’t what she had expected, it was true, life doesn’t turn out the way we planned. Not the way she planned.
She couldn’t wear lenses cause she do cry a lot, if she had decided to wear her contact lens, it would have pull off as well.
“Oh gawd..” she cried. Wishing she could disappear or something. Far from here. From this monster of a man. She just had to be far from here!
She cried.
Quietly, she heard the door opened, but she couldn’t see who came, she lifted her head and squinted her eyes, but she couldn’t see whoever came in at that moment.
He approached her, she draw herself further into the wall.
“I’m not hurting you.”
The voice was calm, and not harsh, the voice she recognized was Aziel.
“Aziel?” She asked to be sure.
“Yes. Can’t you see me?”
“I can’t see without my glasses.”
Aziel squat beside her, tucking her loose hair neatly behind her ears. And use his wiper to wipe her tears off her face. He saw the hands of Kenzo on the side of her face. So close to her eyes. He sighed. That’s Kenzo for you.
He felt pity for her, cause he was letting out his anger on her, though she was innocent. He wanted to help her, but he doesn’t know how to.
“I’ll get your glasses..” he exhaled.
“You’ll need to see something, it won’t be good, but that’s how Boss works.”
Boss. She knew the boss he was talking about was the tall huge and fearsome man, that dragged her down here.
“Wait here, I’ll get your glasses.” She felt him left her side. And buried her head again, she’d thought Aziel was the one giving her the job, though he’d that hard look on but he wasn’t so bad, at least, he didn’t yelled at her or hurt her. And now he was helping her too, he was nice. That she’d noticed.
He returned. And squat beside her, wearing her glasses for her.
“I saw it along the alley.”
“Thank you.” She sniffed.
“Can you see me now?”
“Clearly.” She joked. With a laugh.
Though her sight was still blurry.
She could still joke when her life was at stake. Kenzo wasn’t the one to show mercy so easily. To everyone out there he was heartless and that was why he was feared even by his own family.
He had this weird anger issues.
“Cmon.” He urged, helping her up her feet, he knew her sight wasn’t so bright yet, as she kept blinking through the glasses.
“I’m gonna be hanged.”
“Don’t be silly.” He warned.
“I was just asking.”
“If you want to be alive, don’t be curious, don’t ask anything, don’t see anything. And mostly don’t joke around.”
“There’s so many rules.”
“If you want to die. It would be a lot easier.”
She didn’t say a word and just quietly followed him, though her feet wasn’t steady yet, she try not to fall. On each step. She walked like she was drunk. Aziel noticed her movement, he stopped and waited for her to keep up. And instructed her to hold the tip of his shirt. While they walked out of the alley.
Aziel stopped walking, Elina lifted her head, glanced around, they were outside the mansion but in a small space, someone was tied to a chair. The next thing she saw was blood dripping from his mouth.
“What took you so long?”
Kenzo asked, his sleeves was rolled up, and he was smoking, he butted the ash on a tray. And continue smoking.
“She can’t see, properly.”
“She’s blind.”
“Partially, I think.”
“El…!” Ray called, and more blood came out of his mouth.
“Ray!” Elina cried, he was the only one who called her El. Though she couldn’t see his face clearly.
She walked away from Aziel. Towards Ray.
“Did they hurt you?”
Elina cried seeing him so hurt, they had beat him so badly. He was so weak, the tone of his voice said it all.
“Ray..” she cried more. Touching him.
“Are you okay, El.”
She nodded severally. Seeing Ray like this hurt her so much, her heart was bleeding, she didn’t care what they did to her but they had to leave Ray alone.
“I’m okay.”
Ray nodded.
“Let’s get out of here, I’ll take you home.”
Elina stoops. Staring at Ray’s face. He was badly injured. She darted her eyes towards where Kenzo and Aziel stood. Glaring at them.
What that nerve!
Kenzo looked at her. And slowly stroll towards them.
“Don’t you dare look at me with those eyes of yours.”
“Let him go!” She yelled. Rising.Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
“Of course I’ll, his corpse eventually.”
“What did he do to you? Why are hurting him, why are so cruel!” She screamed in his face.
Kenzo slapped her on the face, making her glasses fall off. Ray struggle from his seat, trying to break free from the rope.
“This scum, beat up my guards, intrude into my privacy. This is how I deal with intruder.”
“Let him go.”
“Why should I?”
“I’ll do anything you want.” She was crying, as she talks to him. Though she couldn’t see his face again. It was better this way, so she didn’t look at his disgusting face.
“No Elina!”
“I won’t let him hurt you, you came here because of me, Ray, you expect me to watch you die.” The tears was pouring down in current.
“El…”
“Let him go.”
“What can you possibly do for me..”
“Anything. I’ll do anything, sweep, clean, run errands, wash, I could do anything, just let him go please.” She fell on her knees.
Tears prickle on Ray eyes, watching Elina plead for him.
He saw, the other guy standing beside Kenzo and whispered something into his ear. Kenzo listened but didn’t say a word.
“Well..” Kenzo began. Stepping aside from Aziel.
“Heard you came here for a job.”
“Yes.” He voice was faint but he heard her anyway. He crossed his hands behind him back. After putting the cigarette in the trash can.
“What makes you think I’ll employ you?”
“She doesn’t want to work for you anymore!” Ray yelled.
“I see, you still have so strength in you. Beat him up.”
Two of his men approached Ray, each holding a huge stick. And began hitting him with it.
“Stop please!” Elina yelled.
“Not yet.”
They hit him hard, blood covered his face, dripping down to his body. His eyes closed and he his mouth was ajar.
Elina sat on the floor, crying her eyes out. This was all her fault. She won’t have listen to Ethan. She would have stay back. And continue working for carols, this won’t have happened, all of this.
It was all her fault.
She regretted everything now, everything decision she made.
“I’ll do anything.” She whispered.
Kenzo lifted his head. Giving them signals to stop. Ray was gasping for breath. He narrowed his eyes to look at Elina.
Without looking at him, she knew if this goes on, he wouldn’t survive.
“Anything at all…?”
“Anything.”
“Aziel take her back in.”
Aziel nodded and hurried to Elina, helping her up to her feet. And gave her her glasses. She wore back her glasses.
And watched Kenzo pulled out a gun from his holster. She halted on her track. He aimed the gun at Ray, and shot him.
Elina gasped.
Ray’s head fell instantly. She screamed, running back to Ray but Aziel held her back, lift her up her feet and hurled her over his shoulders. Taking her away, back to the alley. Her gaze was fixed on Ray, his eyes was shut..
She saw Kenzo cleaned his gun, and had them untie him. And took him away. Kenzo turned and saw her staring at him. With the most dreadful stare he hadn’t seen from a lady.
